October is the first full month of Autumn
and brings with it cooler temperatures, AND
certain celebrations: Halloween, and Columbus
day.
Traditionally, this was also the month in
which the final harvests were taken in and
stored in anticipation of winter.
We will hold elections for officers soon,
and all Masons should carefully consider their
choices for nominations. Several current
officers have agreed to continue in the
"chairs" which is appreciated; others are
preparing to hold a new office next year.
This is a good time to pull out recipes
for such things as pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie,
pumpkin soup, pumpkin. . . well, you get the
idea. As the nights turn cool, the aroma of
these seasonal delights is a true comfort.
Hope that many of you will be able to
attend our Halloween party this year. It was a
very festive occasion last year, and we hope to
repeat that experience.

Companions, We had a fullconvocation, with the help of a visitor,but still no new "old" faces. We received a newapplicant for the degrees. Miguel Bahena hasjoined us.
Our next convocation will be on the 1 1 th ofOctober at 7 P.M.. Dinner will be at Casa Coronaat 5:30 P.M. We need a few old members to try tojoin us. If you haven't been lately, come check usout.
We will be putting on the Stated meetingdinner on the 3rd ofOctober. I would like all themembers to bring a dessert.
