• World War One had just ended, so people needed something new.

• Radios were now available for the average American, so sports were more easily to follow.

• The working force was changing, so now more people had more leisure time, so citizens spent their time following sports.

• Also, new laws were passed limiting working hours.

• In schools, sports teams were formed.

• All this increased America’s Love for sports.

• One of the sports which became more popular in the 1920s was Baseball.

• It became increasingly popular because major league baseball was now broadcasted on

the radio.

• Before the 1920s, Boxing was banned in the United States.

• In 1920, the Walker Law was introduced in New York, making Boxing legal!

• Jack Dempsey was the most famous boxer in the 1920s.

• Boxers were paid 2 million dollars in the 1920s.

• Women became especially involved in sports such as Tennis, Golf, and Swimming.
