Stralis ushers in a new era of
truck design.
Driver comfort, safety, control
ergonomics, cab convenience and style
have all been tuned to a pitch that
forever changes the experience of
long-haul travel.
Stralis underpins all this with
total efficiency, from driveline to
aerodynamics, ensuring reliability and
long-term profitability.
At the same time, Stralis is built in
Australia and has been engineered
to operate efficiently and reliably in
Australian conditions.

The versatile, luxurious and dynamic
2.5-metre Stralis Active Space cab with
its generous dimensions and large,
optional twin bunks is suited to one or
two drivers. It is ideal for long distance
routes.
Absolute comfort: The pneumatically
adjustable steering column offers
more comfort for the driver, while the
latest-generation Isri seat is fitted with
easily accessible side controls providing
power adjustment of height, cushion
angle and cushion length. For maximum
comfort and safety, the lap sash
seat belt is integrated into the seat
structure. Locker box doors allow easy
access to storage areas, while optional
flush-fitting vent windows admit plenty
of fresh air into the sleeping area.
Ergonomics at your service:
The Stralis AS cab is generous in size,
luxurious and adaptable: The exclusive
swivelling EuroTronic II transmission
lever facilitates access from the
driver’s seat to the rest area, yet is
located within easy reach while driving.
And the flat floor assists cab access, as
well as making it easy to move around
within the cab.
Instant, easy to read, complete
driver information:
The functionality of the instrument
panel and the Can-Bus wiring system
- the “brain” which co-ordinates the
electronic functions, from engine
management to transmission, to the on-
board computer - allows total vehicle
efficiency and extremely fast processing
of vital information. All the information
is shown on the Iveco colour display
screen (ICD).

INTELLIGENT FUNCTIONALITY

Smart design equals safety and efficiency:
Stralis is a showcase of styling, driver-
friendly ergonomic design and the marriage
of electronic functions that inform better,
yet make life behind the wheel simpler and
safer.
Large, clearly marked gauges for
speedometer, tachometer, fuel levels and
engine temperature are placed where they
can be read at a glance, and the steering
wheel has buttons allowing for easy
scrolling through the functions on the ICD
screen. The easy to read ICD makes it
possible to determine the status of many
vehicle parameters, from average speed
to fuel consumption, to the vehicle’s
maintenance requirements – which is
ideal for fleet use.
Major controls are grouped where they
don’t distract the driver’s attention from
the road, while secondary functions
remain within comfortable reach on the
cockpit-style wraparound dash.
The Stralis cab’s wraparound console
contains the climate-control air-
conditioning, as well as controls for park
brake, trailer brake, differential locks
and rear suspension dump.
POWER EVOLUTION
The Stralis mission: To offer high
productivity and cost effectiveness
while increasing efficiency on the road.
The new generation, more powerful
Cursor 13 engine provides easy,
flexible performance combined with
the efficiency of the Iveco Turbo Brake
(ITB).
The variable geometry turbocharger
(VGT) system assists the Cursor
engine in delivering high torque across
a broad range of engine speeds.
A Fuel Pro 230 primary filter
protects the injectors from dirty or
contaminated fuel, while two-speed
fans assure durability, at the same
time further lowering noise levels and
raising thermal efficiency.
Combining all this with the latest
transmission technology also gives
Stralis an edge in terms of reliability
and maintenance costs .
The EuroTronic II automated constant
mesh transmission that is standard
in Stralis has become an industry
benchmark. It allows the engine to
work at optimum efficiency because
it always chooses the appropriate
gear. Automated control means less
wear on components, improved
performance and improved economy.
For circumstances in which the driver
prefers manual control, EuroTronic II
provides that too.
The wide torque band of the Cursor
13 engine translates into fewer gear
changes, and lower emissions.

Total safety and reliability: The
safe, efficient Stralis braking system
uses ventilated discs at the front,
optional rear discs at the rear and
adopts the simplified two-circuit
system. The piping has been routed
so it is protected from damage, while
also being easier to service. The
system is electronically controlled
by anti-lock brakes (ABS) and
electronic brakeforce limitation (EBL),
resulting in significant reductions in
stopping distances. Optional Anti Slip
Regulation (ASR) improves traction in
slippery conditions.
The high-tech characteristics of
Stralis do not compromise comfort.
The new air suspended cab is built
for Australian conditions and reduces
roll and pitch to provide unmatched
isolation from road shock. You will
feel as though you’re sitting at home
in your favourite armchair.
The locally developed high-tensile
chassis rails combine with optimised
routing of the plumbing to minimise
weight and improve serviceability and
reliability.
ACTIVE TECHNOLOGY

ACTIVE RESPONSE
No short cuts: Stralis is designed to
cater for a wide range of applications
with maximum efficiency, safety and
comfort.
Over long distance routes, Stralis
offers the most innovative and
effective of solutions.

RATIONALISED SPECIFICATIONS
Stralis is the long-haul specialist.
With premium running gear as standard, nothing that is required for
comfortable, safe and efficient operation is left out.
The suitability of Stralis to a wide range of applications, from semi-trailer
to B-Double - and beyond - is guaranteed by the standard-equipment
Cursor 13 engine.
The Cursor 13’s outstanding power figures of 550hp and 2350Nm combine
with low emissions and high operating efficiency to make easy work of the
most demanding long-haul operations.
This is backed up by the EuroTronic II automated constant mesh 16-speed
transmission - also standard in Stralis - that assures the absolute best in
terms of driver ease and overall efficiency.
A Meritor rear axle with driver-controlled differential locks, and
Hendrickson Primaax rear air suspension are standard. Twin rectangular
aluminium alloy tanks provide a total fuel capacity of 1000 litres with
optional 1300 litres on 3.85 metre wheelbase.
With standard four-channel ABS twin-circuit braking, incorporating EBL and
using ventilated Knorr front disc brakes, Stralis underlines its emphasis on
safety and reliability.
Right down to the 70/70-watt headlights, with 70-watt fog and driving
lamps – all provided with protective covers - the Australian-built Stralis has
been designed as the perfect heavy-duty choice for Australian conditions.
