“commercial credibility”: this is why every fiveminutes, somewhere in the world a customerbuys a Daily.

The new model has all the hallmarks toremain as competitive as ever.

In fact, the New Daily is born out of ex-tensive research and development with pro-fessionals who speak the same language: onone hand, the demands of a customer seekingreliability, versatility and productivity; on theother, know-how and experience amassed byIveco in the field of commercial and industrialvehicles.

Thanks to a chassis frame, its adaptabilityto suit a wide range of applications and body-work, not to mention powerful turbodiesel en-

gines which are both flexible and economical, the New Daily is the preferred light commer-cial vehicle amongst professionals in the trans-port world (both goods and people transport).

Offered in van, chassis cab and MPV ver-sions, the new Iveco vehicle combines the so-lidity and strength of a truck with the high per-formance and manoeuvrability of a muchlighter vehicle. As ever, the entire package isbound together in an innovative style.

Today, the New Daily is once moreahead of its time and picks up on emergingtrends in the world of transport, especiallylight transport: Giorgetto Giugiaro has givenlife to a fluid contour combining an aggressivefront end, tidy profile and redesigned tail end.

THE NEW DAILY IN BRIEF

The overall effect is embellished by a host ofnew features such as the radiator grill, whichaccentuates the style adopted across the Ivecorange; the roof air vents and spoiler which in-corporates a third brake light and loading arealight; not to mention the new look front andrear vehicle lights.

Still the reigning “champion of mobility”,the New Daily retains its classic rear tractionand introduces numerous innovations in theengine department (all Euro 4 compliant). Inparticular, the 2.3-litre engine is now equippedwith a turbine with variable geometry whilstthe 3.0-litre engines (available in all versions in-cluding MPV) have increased torque and pow-er output. The 3.0 HPI version today offers 146

hp and 350 Nm. Not to be outdone, the up-graded 3.0 HPT delivers an impressive 176 hpwith 400 Nm maximum torque between 1,250and 3,000 rpm (best in class). All this makesthe top-of-the-range Daily far and away themost flexible vehicle in its class.

The New Daily is also synonymous withcomfort and ergonomics and the revised cab, also designed by Giugiaro, improves driver er-gonomics and ease of movement across thecabin, thanks to the dash-mounted gearshiftand new hand brake, which is shorter due toits lighter action. The new seats are even morecomfortable and provide greater support, whilst the interior is spacious and practical tomanage thanks to the increased amount of

storage space. Driver and passenger comfort isfurther enhanced by features such as the park-ing sensor, loading area lighting system inte-grated into the third brake light and auxiliaryheater with timer for programmable activation.

Driving quality is something to whichDaily customers have become accustomed:the vehicle is unbeatable in terms of roadholding and handling, its ability to absorb un-even surfaces and its manoeuvrability; qualitieswhich make it ideal for any kind of mission, whether involving motorways or mountains, fog or urban traffic. Such high performance re-lies on independent front suspension, as wellas the vehicle’s robust chassis and rear beamaxles.

For a number of years, Iveco has been promot-ing a new concept of commercial vehicle, onewhich is ever more attentive to safety and re-spect for the environment. The New Daily de-velops its braking system one step further:thanks to its power-assisted brake disks, the 3.5-tonne version (S class) goes from 100 to 0 km/hin only 42 metres. Not only this, the New Dailycan be specified with ABS/EBD and, as with theprevious model, the latest generation ESP8 withintegrated ASR. In addition to driver’s airbag, which are standard for people carrier Combivans, the new Iveco vehicle can also be fittedwith passenger-side and window airbags.

The New Daily also continues to play itspart for the environment: all engines in the

new range comply with Euro 4 limits and useonly the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) sys-tem, which avoids the need for particulate fil-ters to be fitted to light-duty versions. In or-der to comply with especially stringent normsin urban centres, all Daily vehicles areequipped with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF).The 6.5-tonne people carrier is fitted withDPF as standard.

Added to these winning characteristics, the New Daily incorporates innovative fea-tures aimed at continually improving its levelof reliability: for example, the latest generationelectrical and electronics system, based on in-novative CAN-BUS architecture, which com-pared to traditional wiring is simplified and re-

quires fewer connections. There is also an im-proved diagnostics interface and new func-tions in keeping with latest developmentswithin the automotive industry (from satellitenavigation to hands-free Bluetooth radio withMP3 player).

Inspired by its objectives of optimum reli-ability and working conditions for transportprofessionals, Iveco has left no stone unturnedin its quality research: for example, the newrear door locking mechanism and suspendedsliding side door.

The unbeatable competence of the Ivecosales and assistance network (over 2,000 out-lets in Europe alone) remains unchangedalongside so many product innovations. The

Iveco network continues to provide outstand-ing levels of professionalism and services, fromfinance to service contracts, from rapid assis-tance to an international and multilingualCustomer Centre.

With its Daily solution, Iveco has createdone of the widest and most articulate rangesavailable for transport professionals in the seg-ment.

The range comprises three classes (ac-cording to gross vehicle weight): L, S and C,each in basic van or chassis cab versions. Eachclass corresponds to a very precise type of

customer and offers a further choice of fiveengine sizes, a selection of different wheelbas-es and interior heights, lengths, volume capac-ities, and side and rear door configurations.

The true breadth of the New Daily rangeextends to over 2,500 possible configurations, ensuring there is a suitable model for the needsof every light commercial vehicle operator.

In all, the New Daily is the confirmed topchoice for professionals within the road trans-port sector and the natural successor to a win-ning model: after all, there are well over a mil-lion Daily vehicles on the roads worldwide.

The New Daily is the practical response byprofessionals within the sector aimed at otherprofessionals; two professional spheres speak-ing the same language and sharing the sameobjectives. There is all the Iveco know-howand experience in the field of commercial andindustrial vehicles; matched to, the demands ofa customer in search of reliability, versatilityand productivity. This “meeting of minds” iswhat led to the creation of the new Ivecocommercial vehicle.

Available in van, chassis cab and MPV ver-sions, the New Daily positions itself as themost solid and reliable vehicle in its category.Credit must go to the firm chassis upon whichthe model is built, a chassis which professional

customers particularly appreciate: the chassisframe support, the model’s adaptability to anincredibly broad range of applications andbody designs, not to mention the high per-formance behind its powerful turbodiesel en-gines, which are both flexible and economical.

The New Daily embodies qualities andvalues inherent in its make-up, once more of-fering truck-like strength combined with di-mensions which guarantee maximum versatili-ty in urban settings, state-of-the-art enginetechnology and innovative design.

This amazing ability to evolve whilst re-maining true to itself is what lies behind almostthirty years of Daily success. Time is the harsh-est critic: neither is it possible to stay at the top

for so long without having a winning formulaor the know-how to continually update it.

Now comes the turn of the New Daily toearn the accolades.

A success storyLet’s take a brief look at the major stages inthe history of the model, which from 1978 tothe present day has always been the runawayleader in the field of light transport throughoutEurope and worldwide.

Right from its launch in 1978, the Dailyadopted a highly innovative base, which up un-til that point had only been witnessed in indus-trial trucks: independent front suspension, supporting base frame, front longitudinal en-

gine and rear traction. Nevertheless, com-bined with these winning characteristics, thenew vehicle added smooth handling and anew level of comfort in the commercial trans-port field.

Thus began the story of the Daily: boththe first Iveco light truck and smallestEuropean truck. It was an unprecedented suc-cess. In fact, over 450,000 vehicles were pro-duced between 1978 and 1995. Since its launch, the Daily has proven itself to be the ideal so-lution for all light transport applications.

The Daily’s other outstanding asset duringthe last few years has been technological andcommercial vitality, owing to the constant at-tention which Iveco has placed on the vehicle’s

9

development and culminating in the range’scontinuous updates: in terms of type of body-work, as well as engines and equipment. 1985saw the debut of the Turbo Daily (with “small”direct injection turbodiesel engine fitted asstandard) and, during the same period, thelaunch of the 4x4 military version and the first“electric” Daily. 1989 saw the grand entranceof the new Daily range, updated both in termsof style and technology, with more powerfulengines and a new gearbox. The same year al-so saw the introduction of the powerful 116 hpturbo-intercooled engine. Meanwhile, 1998saw the launch of the methane gas-powered“Daily CNG” (Compressed Natural Gas),which will remain an Iveco exclusive for years

to come, and is still one of the most environ-mentally-friendly commercial vehicles in theworld.

In short, the Daily and Turbo Daily havebeen the standard bearers for Iveco quality, safety, innovation and reliability throughoutthe world during the 80s and 90s. This led in1991 to the inauguration of the first TurboDaily assembly line within Chinese factories inNanjing. It represented the first fruits of a con-tract signed in 1986 between the Chinese giantand Iveco for licensed production of 3 to 5-tonne GVW light vehicles in China.

1996 saw the entry onto the Europeanmarket of the “New Daily”, the second bigrestyling of the range. It built on the winning

dition to a special version, the Daily AGile withautomated gearbox, featuring a choice of au-tomatic or manual mode with sequentialgearshift. Also in 2004, Iveco introduced theESP system (Electronic Stability Program).

The Daily image was modernised witheach successive launch, using stylistic toucheswhich continue to reaffirm the defining charac-ter of the vehicle’s design.

This policy of continual innovation has ensuredhigh levels of public and critical acclaim: in2005, the Daily was nominated “Fleet Van ofthe Year” by Motor Transport newspaper and“Van of the Year” by What Van? magazine.

qualities of the previous model: exceptionalload capacity provided by the robust chassisframe, optimum mobility thanks to rear trac-tion, independent front suspension, modernand aerodynamic design, technically cutting-edge engines and mechanical components, added to an elegant and comfortable cabin.

Three years later in Jerez de la Frontiera(Spain), Iveco launched a new range of lightvehicles designed for a truly diverse selectionof applications. Once again, it bore the Dailyname, but with the definition of a City Truck.Comfortable, agile and roomy, it was con-ceived for loading and unloading of goods andwas designed for extensive use within urbancentres. Moreover, it was powerful, safe and

reliable like its predecessor, appreciated bycustomers for its intense and prolonged use-fulness over time. This was the right directionto take: in 2000 the new Iveco commercial ve-hicle was awarded the prestigious title of“International Van of the Year 2000”. It shouldnot be forgotten that, for the first time in 1999,Iveco took on the light van sector (2.8 to 3.49-tonne GVW), once again increasing the versa-tility of its Daily offering.

In the following years, the Daily evolutionhas been unrelenting. This time, a new gener-ation of engines lies at its heart: 2002 saw thedebut of the .10 HPI and .12 HPI versions, whilst October 2004 witnessed the arrival ofthe Daily .14 HPI and the Daily .17 HPT, in ad-

reducing the volume of the stereo (if switchedon), thus allowing users with a Bluetooth mo-bile phone to make a call, even if their phoneis in the pocket of their jacket or bag, whilstthey use the stereo speakers to listen to thecaller on the other end. The device also en-ables the driver to browse information on thevehicle display.

Finally, the New Daily has undergone aseries of enhancements for improvement ofreal and perceived quality. Beginning with the

new and more efficient rear door lockingmechanism, followed by new fuel tanks whichoffer at least 200 mm ground clearance; lastbut not least is the new suspended sliding sidedoor (which guarantees excellent reliabilityand requires minimum effort to open andclose).

DAILY

Robust and reliable as only a truck manufactur-er can guarantee: Iveco Daily adopts a chassisframe for structural rigidity, resistance to wearand long-lasting durability.

The New Daily is synonymous with qual-ity and reliability thanks also to uncompromis-ing design choices, many of them “invisible”:for example, the complete redesign of theelectrical system, which now features innova-tive CAN-BUS architecture.

With regard to traditional wiring, thispresents a more linear layout requiring lessconnections (a reduction of around 30%), im-proves and facilitates off-board and on-boarddiagnostics and adds new functions in keepingwith the latest innovations in the automotive

world. CAN-BUS also adds to the Daily’s leg-endary versatility; thanks to the availability ofspecial connectors, the new system can inter-face with the most diverse configurations –from breakdown trucks to refrigerated vehi-cles, from campers to MPVs.

The new displays indicate vehicle statusand travel information via the trip computer. Also available will be the new radio (completewith MP3 player) and, from the end of 2006fixed double-DIN size navigation system (withample large-format screen), a hands-freewireless telephone system with Bluetoothtechnology which guarantees maximum driv-ing safety under all conditions. The device isintegrated into the dashboard, automatically

The New Daily has always been considered a“champion of mobility”. This is down to its reartraction and high-performance engines: in fact, theformer guarantees maximum acceleration with re-gard to maximum payload whilst the latter ensureslevels of torque and output which are consistentlyat the top of its class. The result? Unbeatable ad-herence and mobility no matter what the pay-load, terrain or road surface conditions.

The New Daily maintains, or rather im-proves upon, these winning characteristics.

Customers can choose between the 2.3-litre (96, 116 or 136 hp) and 3.0-litre engines (146or 176 hp). In technical terms, the five turbod-iesel engines are “4-cylinder in-line”, with fourvalves per cylinder, and are directly operated bya double overhead camshaft with hydraulic tap-

pet control. They are “common rail” engines, soinjection pressure does not depend on the en-gine’s rpm but is managed independently by anelectronic control device. As you may wellknow, the “common rail” system optimisescombustion thanks to an instantaneous dieseloil pilot injection, thus guaranteeing increasedperformance and reduced specific consump-tion, whilst delivering emission control which isfar more efficient than traditional diesel engines.

In order to reduce downtime and thus lossin productivity, oil and filters require changingonly every 40,000 km; the 2.3-litre adopts atoothed distribution belt (with a 240,000 km or5-year interval) whilst the 3.0-litre uses a “forlife” distribution chain which has been testedsuccessfully up to 350,000 km.

Euro 4 engines with more output and torque

In addition to these winning characteristics, thenew engines are more environmentally-friendlyand deliver greater power output, torque andflexibility.

All engines are compliant with Euro 4 stan-dards. A variable geometry turbocharger haseven been introduced in the 2.3-litre (.14 en-gine) range.

The 3.0-litre engines (available in all versions, including MPV) have been upgraded: the 3.0 HPInow offers 146 hp with 350 Nm maximumtorque, whilst the 3.0 HPT delivers up to 176 hpwith 400 Nm maximum torque (the highest in itsclass). Added to this, the New Daily HPT fea-tures extraordinary flexibility, torque is actuallyconstant between 1250 and 3000 rpm. No com-petitors deliver such a wide range of choice.

stances. In order to attain this objective, de-signers used the most modern criteria whensetting parameters for on-board wellbeing andcomfort. The final result is the outstandingquality of the New Daily’s essential ergonomicfunctions: convenience, driver posture, accessi-bility, visibility and spaces which are easy to re-arrange.

Giugiaro is responsible for the new cab, which is striking in terms of its dash-mountedgearshift and the new handbrake, shorter dueto its lighter action. The combination of thesetwo solutions improves driver ergonomics andease of movement across the cabin. Also play-ing their part to make work and travel easieron-board the New Daily are the new seats,

designed to provide even more comfort andsupport, an ergonomic steering wheel andnovel door panels.

Comfort and functionality also define thedashboard – made in a special soft-feeling ma-terial – which offers 3 DIN-size drawers (an-other DIN-size drawer is available on request, placed at the centre of the wide console whichruns the length of the overhead panel abovethe windscreen).

Driver and passenger comfort is furtherassured by features such as the parking sensor, loading area light system (integrated with thethird brake light into the rear spoiler), auxiliaryheater with timer for programmable activation, central locking with remote control integrated

The ultimate in driver and passenger comfort

The qualities of an accomplished commercialvehicle can only be fully appreciated duringeverday use, once a pressing need arises andwe discover to our surprise that someone hasdesigned a vehicle which solves our problem, however large or small. This is so much truerfor the New Daily – a vehicle which offers thesolution to a thousand travel necessities, underany circumstances.

The contours running along the cabin in-terior are harmonious and well balanced withthe outer contours. Together with the exten-sive window panelling, they create a welcom-ing, bright atmosphere able to guaranteemaximum convenience inside the cab – andtherefore superior comfort in terms of er-

gonomics and space available to the driverand passengers.

The New Daily has been designed andconstructed with customers’ desires, as well astheir new mobility needs, as first priorities. This has led to the use of “smart” solutionswhich help facilitate driving, whilst fulfilling anew dimension in terms of “experiencing thecommercial vehicle”, in other words the pleas-ure of “being on-board”, in the broadest senseof the term.

In this way, the New Daily cabin has beendesigned “for” and “around” people; it is theplace to be for a comfortable travel experi-ence and practical sense of on-board wellbe-ing and enjoyment, whatever the circum-

into the key and new door opening/closingmechanisms, not to mention the amount of in-cab storage space thanks to numerous objectholders and pockets.

However, it is on the road that the NewDaily really comes into its own, delivering un-paralleled control and handling. In fact, smoothgearshift and dynamic response have alwaysbeen especially typical of Iveco vehicles: thenew Daily is no exception. The truck-styleframe (which ensures maximum strength un-

der any payload or driving conditions), inde-pendent front suspension and rear beam axles, are the ingredients which make the New Dailya champion in terms of its ability to absorb un-even surfaces, linear and precise steering re-sponse, road holding and stable manoeuvring.

On request, the New Daily can be fittedwith pneumatic rear suspension, ideal fortransport of fragile goods or people – whennecessary, it can also be fitted with a specially-reduced laden frame height.

The New Daily is a “solid” vehicle, the resultof superior construction quality.

At its base is a robust design which, eversince the beginning, has three precise objec-tives: maximum safety, maximum handlingwithin the payload limit and the best quality ofon-board life for professionals behind thewheel.

First and foremost, the vehicle guaranteescomplete control under all road conditions, straightforward driving and maximum roadholding. The sum of its individual parts com-bines to form a comprehensive solution, mak-ing this one of the safest commercial vehiclesin the segment. The level of safety is visible atfirst glance, as demonstrated by an external

contour which immediately conveys the im-pression of strength, reliability and robustness. This impression is confirmed by the care andhigh level of innovation which has gone intothe construction of the Daily. It’s no coinci-dence then that the vehicle offers the most so-phisticated electronic devices both in terms ofprotection of occupants and dynamic responsecontrol (from braking to traction).

Besides a high-performance braking sys-tem, the New Daily offers ABS brakes com-plete with EBD (Electronic Brake forceDistribution) sensors. It may also be fitted withsophisticated ESP (Electronic StabilityProgram, for regulating vehicle handling duringsteering and braking) and ASR (Acceleration

Braking systemIn line with higher active safety targets, theNew Daily is equipped with a high-efficiencybraking system, an outstanding modular sys-tem which ensures prompt and progressivebraking. Power-assisted both for higher GVWversions and medium weight versions (3.5 t),the biggest change is seen in the braking sys-tem of lighter class (up to 3.5 t) vehicles. Thefront and rear disc diameters have been in-creased and self-ventilated front brake discshave been adopted. The final result is shortervehicle braking distance: from 100 to 0 km/h in42 metres with a full payload. At half-load (acommon occurrence for most applications)

this distance is further reduced to only 40 me-tres.

Finally, the integration of the handbrakeinto the rear brake calliper (on the 35C mod-el) allows for easier handling and a reductionin unladen weight of around 9 kg.

ABS8 complete with EBD(Electronic Brake forceDistribution)Besides a high-performance braking system, the New Daily is equipped with an ABS8 Anti-lock Braking System, one of the most ad-vanced on the market today, complete withElectronic Brake force Distribution (EBD). The

Slip Regulation, to limit slipping of the drivenwheels during acceleration, thus preventingoversteer or understeer and improving trac-tion on surfaces with poor grip). These are allversion-8 features and thus represent thestate-of-the-art active security measures.

In terms of passive safety, besides the dri-ver’s airbag, the New Daily can be equippedwith passenger-side and double window airbag(still with pre-tensioned seatbelts).

Furthermore, the New Daily has under-gone numerous high-speed crash test simula-tions, with results being measured againststructural and biomechanical parameters in ac-cordance with some of the strictest standardsin the world. For example, the Daily MPV is

subject to an anti-roll test, which is not re-quired by European standards for this type ofvehicle. Nevertheless, the vehicle passes withflying colours.

Finally, the New Daily also continues toplay its part for the environment: all enginessatisfy Euro 4 emission limits, even without thediesel particulate filter (DPF). In order to com-ply with stringent regulations adopted in mosturban centres, the DPF system is offered asoptional on all engines (it is only standard onvehicles intended for the transportation ofpeople and 6.5t GVW vehicles).

The following is a description of the ex-tensive equipment which is currently availablefor the New Daily.

gripping safely during cornering or if the noseor tail is about to skid outwards (understeer oroversteer). To bring the vehicle back to thecorrect trajectory, the device generates a skidto counter this instability by individually brak-ing the appropriate wheel (internal or exter-nal) and reducing engine power (using thethrottle).

An integral part of the ESP8 is the HillHolder system which assists the driver duringhill starts. It turns on when the ESP controlunit perceives a variation in the vehicle’s incli-nation by means of a longitudinal accelerationsensor. During hill acceleration, the controlunit responds when it senses that the vehicle

is in first gear, with brake pedals and clutch de-pressed. In this way, pressure on the frontbrake callipers is maintained for around 1.5 sec-onds after release of the pedal, allowing thedriver to set off with ease. During downhillstarts from first gear, the Hill Holder functionremains inactive. The opposite is true when inreverse gear: the system is activated duringdownhill starts and deactivated during uphillstarts.

ASR (Anti Slip Regulation)An integral part of the ESP8 is Anti SlipRegulation (ASR) system which ensures opti-mal traction with the aid of brakes and engine

latter distributes the braking action over thefour wheels in order to prevent the brakeslocking, thus guaranteeing full vehicle controlunder any conditions. Furthermore, the systemadjusts itself to the level of grip provided bythe wheels themselves as well as to the effi-ciency of the brake pads, also reducing the lat-ter from overheating.

ESP8 (Electronic StabilityProgramme) with Hill Holder The Daily was the first light commercial vehi-cle to adopt the sophisticated ESP8, the latestgeneration stability control programme. Thisnew function “recognises” the distribution of

the vehicle’s payload, thereby adjusting its re-sponse during tight turning circles.

This is how it works: The ESP checks thecontinual grip of the tyres to the ground bothlongitudinally and laterally and, in the event ofthe vehicle skidding, compensates to restorethe structure’s direction and stability. It actual-ly uses sensors to detect the rotation of thevehicle on its vertical axis (yaw speed), lateralacceleration and steering wheel angle, as posi-tioned by the driver (which indicates the cho-sen direction). It then compares this data withparameters calculated by an onboard comput-er and uses a complex mathematical model tostabilise the vehicle depending on whether it is

occupants during a side-on collision. In relationto other solutions, the window bags adoptedby the New Daily offer more protection (be-cause they always assume the correct posi-tion), inflate more quickly and are less invasivefor passengers. In fact, they open from top tobottom and their motion avoids risk of sec-ondary injury to the arms of passengers. Thetwo airbags (one on each side, right and left)are situated under the roof bars, folded into acovered panel. The panel folds open at theright moment, allowing the bag to inflate anddrop down.

EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)and DPF (Diesel ParticulateFilter)To fulfil Euro 4 regulations (significant reduc-tion in NOx and particulate emission levels),the New Daily adopts EGR technology(Exhaust Gas Recirculation). This technologyreduces NOx emissions by lowering combus-tion temperature, thanks to recirculation of acontrolled quantity of exhaust gases which arerefrigerated and re-emitted into the combus-tion chamber. The combustion temperature isreduced and formation of NOx is kept undercontrol. The system is controlled by the en-gine’s electronic control unit (by means of an

control at any speed. Depending on the num-ber of wheel revolutions calculated by the ABSsensors, the device assesses the degree of slipand activates two different control systems torestore wheel grip.

When excessive power demand causesboth driven wheels to skid (for example in thecase of aquaplaning or when accelerating onuneven, icy or snowy road surfaces), the con-trol unit responds by reducing engine torque.

If only one wheel slips (for example theinternal wheel during cornering followed byacceleration or under dynamic load variations),the wheel is automatically braked without thedriver needing to depress the brake pedal.

This produces a similar effect to that producedby the limited-slip differential. This allows theNew Daily to smoothly manage low-grip roadsurfaces.

ASR response is automatic at each enginestart-up, but can be deactivated at the press ofa button. Finally, ASR override is compulsoryonly when using snow chains. This is becausein order to transmit torque onto the ground, the wheel must be able to “collect“ snow us-ing small skids which the ASR would prevent.

When the Daily model was first launched in1978, it won accolades for its innovative design,in which aesthetics and functionality were inte-grated in a careful, stylistic balance. The Dailyshows itself to be a perfect vehicle for stowingand transferring goods or transporting people.Whilst being notable for its modern and origi-nal style which, outside of professional circles,is more than enough to inspire any onlooker. In short, the Daily has proved itself to be theideal workmate with a big personality.

Today, the New Daily is once moreahead of its time: it goes beyond the conceptof “attractive and functional” to become adefining feature of one’s business image. In thissense it picks up on an emerging trend in the

world of transport, especially light transport:the commercial vehicle is no longer simply awork tool, it is also a “calling card” which helpsconvey the values and philosophy of one’sbusiness.

In terms of the quality of its image, a bigleap forward was required in order to makethe model a benchmark for the current mar-ket. This is why the style of the New Dailybears the hallmark of one of the most famousdesigners in the world: Giorgetto Giugiaro.

The vehicle boasts a harmonious contourmarked by defining touches which make it im-mediately recognisable. It starts with the stylishfront end, which accentuates the design adopt-ed across the Iveco family, and notably in-

airflow gauge), no matter what the speed orpayload.

For applications and situations which callfor further reduction in emissions, the EGR isassisted by a DPF (diesel particulate filter, or so-called “trapdoor”), which is fitted as standardfor heavy-duty vehicles and people carriers.

These include a foldawayarmrest which can be raised into line with theseat contour using one simple motion, whilstthe backrest provides lumbar support to helpthe passenger assume correct posture and canbe reclined as desired. Upholstery comes inthe form of velvet, leather and various textiles.Above the seats, overhead luggage racks allowthe transport of oversized objects, withoutcounting that the internal roof height allowspassengers to move around with minimumfuss.

For increased travel comfort, the vehiclecan be fitted with pneumatic suspension which

cludes the integrated bumper-grill unit, bonnetand roof. The raised bumper offers greater ve-hicle protection whilst the front lights, with in-tegrated fog lights, round off its highly arrestingand personalised image.

Seen from profile, the New Daily alsoshows off its solidity and volume capacity, thanks to a sleek and elegant contour.Amongst other things, the wide-angle wingmirrors stick right out of the flanks, offeringoptimum rear visibility whilst elegantly inte-grating the side indicators (made more visiblethanks to their raised height).

Even the rear end has been redesignedwith the precise objective of conveying bal-ance and strength. This is demonstrated by the

spoiler, with roof air vents, which incorporatesthe third brake light and loading area light. Also new are the rear vehicle light units (withreverse lights and fog lights on each side), thehinges, access step and under-door guards. The New Daily’s character can be further en-hanced with roof racks and bumpers paintedto match the bodywork colour.
