[POR] - 19 BANDAS NO 4º SMSF EM BEJA.. TOTALMENTE GRATUITO! O SMSF (Santa Maria Summer Fest) já se encontra na sua 4ª edição e este ano são 19 as bandas que preenchem o cartaz do festival. Com nomes como DOOM [UK] e VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC [AT], entre outros grandes nomes do metal nacional, nomeadamente GROG, IBERIA, SACRED SIN, HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL, PROCESS OF GUILT, GÖATFUKK (primeiro concerto com o vocalista original) e THE SORCERER (primeiro concerto de sempre, uma bandade old-school black metal formada em 1994) o festival está a crescer a cada ano que passa, e tem-se mostrado um ponto de passagem dos fãs de música extrema no nosso país. O SMSF apoia também a Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa e a Loja Social de Beja e temos campanhas de doação de bens alimentares e não alimentares a essas instituições a decorrer durante o festival. Esta edição será realizada em conjunto com o Festival Internacional de Banda Desenhada de Beja, e contará com muitas exposições de vários autores da BD no interior da Casa da Cultura, totalmente livre. Todos os que vêm a Beja podem contar com entrada livre e campismo gratuito para quem quiser aparecer pelo Anfiteatro Exterior da Casa da Cultura nos dias 7, 8 e 9 de Junho. Temos chuveiros no campismo, wc’s, comes e bebes no recinto do festival (incluindo comida vegan e vegetariana), tendas de merchandise e a festa está garantida das 8 da noite às 4 da manhã com DJ’s no afterparty! [ENG] - 19 BANDS IN THE 4ᵗʰ SMSF BEJA… TOTALLY FREE! SMSF (Santa Maria Summer Fest) is already in its 4ᵗʰ edition and this year 19 bands fill the billing of the festival. With acts like DOOM [UK] and VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC [AT], among other great names of the Portuguese Underground, like GROG, IBERIA, SACRED SIN, HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL, PROCESS OF GUILT, GÖATFUKK (first concert with the original vocalist) and THE SORCERER (first concert ever, old school black metal since 1994) the festival is demonstrating a large growth each year that passes, and has revealed itself as a landmark in the extreme music scene of our country. SMSF supports the Portuguese Red Cross and the Loja Social de Beja and we have donation campaigns for food, toys and clothes to help these institutions during the festival. This edition is being organized together with Beja’s International Comic Book Festival, and will count with many exhibitions from many comic book authors in the inside of the Casa da Cultura, totally free. Everyone that comes to Beja can enjoy free entrance and free camping in the festival: June 7, 8 and 9 in the Anfiteatro Exterior da Casa da Cultura. We have showers in the camping site, bathrooms, food, drink and merch stalls (including vegan and vegetarian food) in the venue and lots of music from 8 PM to 4 AM including an afterparty with DJ’s! [ESP] - 19 Bandas en el 4º SMSF BEJA… TOTALMENTE GRATIS! El SMSF (Santa Maria Summer Fest) se encuentra en su 4ª edición y este año son 19 bandas que integran el cartel. Con nombres como DOOM (UK) y VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC [AT], entre otros nombres del Metal de Portugal, como GROG, IBERIA, SACRED SIN, HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL, PROCESS OF GUILT, GÖATFUKK (primero concierto con el vocalista original) y THE SORCERER (primero concierto de siempre, una banda de Old-School Black Metal formada en 1994) el festival está creciendo a cada año y se asume un punto de pasaje de los fans de música extrema en nuestro país. SMSF apoya la Cruz Roja Portuguesa y la Tienda Social de Beja y tenemos campañas de donativos de bienes alimenticios y no alimenticios a esas instituciones en el festival. Esta edición será realizada en conjunto con el Festival Internacional de Comics de Beja y tendrá muchas exposiciones de varios autores de comics en el interior de la Casa de la Cultura de Beja. Tendremos duchas en el Camping, servicios y comedores y bares en el recinto del festival (también comida vegan y vegetariana), tiendas de merchandise y la fiesta será de las 8 PM a las 4 de la mañana con DJ’s en el Afterparty en Beja, los días 7, 8 y 9 de Junio.

[POR] - DOOM [UK] ESTÁ ENTRE OS DESTAQUES DESTA EDIÇÃO DO SMSF O 4º SMSF, festival que aos poucos vai crescendo dentro do circuito underground português, irá decorrer este ano na cidade de Beja, nos dias 7, 8 e 9 de Junho. Entre as bandas do cartaz os DOOM [UK] destacam-se com o seu regresso a Portugal após 20 anos, um exclusivo do SMSF! A mítica banda, defendida por muitos como uns dos “pais” do crust punk, autores de marcos do género como Rush Hour of the Gods, Police Bastard e World of Shit irá actuar no Sábado do festival anti-troika. Os Austríacos VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC [AT] são outra das atracções do festival, com o seu auto-denominado “baby-hating incest snuff goregrind”, que promete animar o público presente. Destaque também para os GÖATFUKK [PT], que irão actuar pela primeira vez com o seu vocalista original, Wanderer (ex-vocalista de Decayed), num concerto que contará também com um segundo guitarrista, Vulturius (IRAE, MORTE INCANDESCENTE) e outros músicos convidados. THE SORCERER [PT], uma banda de old-school black metal criada pelo guitarrista Hugo Andremon (ex-Grog, ex-Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, ex-Simbiose) em 1994, irá dar o seu primeiro concerto de sempre, no palco do SMSF! O cartaz conta também com a presença de muitos outros nomes nacionais: IBERIA, GROG, HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL, PROCESS OF GUILT, GWYDION, CRISE TOTAL, SACRED SIN, MIDNIGHT PRIEST, MORTE INCANDESCENTE, IRAE, ALCOHOLOCAUST, ALCHEMIST, REVENGEANCE, UTOPIUM e HO-CHI-MINH. O festival tem entrada livre, campismo gratuito, balneários, wc’s, tendas de comes e bebes (incluindo comida vegan e vegetariana) e ainda com exposições no âmbito do Festival Internacional de BD de Beja, que decorrerá durante algumas semanas na cidade de Beja, no interior da Casa da Cultura. No âmbito desse festival, estarão também presentes bancas de BD. [ENG] - DOOM *UK+ IS AMONG THE HIGHLIGHTS FOR THIS YEAR’S SMSF SMSF is a festival that is already growing among the Portuguese Underground, and will take place this year in Beja, on June 7, 8 and 9. Among the bands in the bill, DOOM [UK] is one of the highlights with their return to Portugal after 20 years, a SMSF exclusive! The crust punk legends, authors of landmarks of the genre such as Rush Hour of the Gods, Police Bastard and World of Shit will perform on the Saturday of the ultimately free festival! VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC [AT] are going to spread their self-proclaimed “baby-hating incest snuff goregrind”, and they promise to get our festival goers crazy! The highlights are also on for GÖATFUKK [PT], as they will play their first concert with their original vocalist, Wanderer (ex-Decayed), in an act that will count as well with a second guitarist, Vulturius (IRAE, MORTE INCANDESCENTE), and other special guests. THE SORCERER [PT], an old-school black metal band created by Hugo Andremon (ex-Grog, ex-Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, ex-Simbiose) in 1994, will perform its first concert ever, on SMSF’s stage! The bill also counts with the presence of many other great Portuguese acts: IBERIA, GROG, HOLOCAUSTO CANIBAL, PROCESS OF GUILT, GWYDION, CRISE TOTAL, SACRED SIN, MIDNIGHT PRIEST, MORTE INCANDESCENTE, IRAE, ALCOHOLOCAUST, ALCHEMIST, REVENGEANCE, UTOPIUM and HO-CHI-MINH. The festival is self-proclaimed as the ‘anti-troika’ festival, because we have free entrance and free camping for the festival goers. We also have showers, bathrooms, food and drink stalls (including vegan and vegetarian food), merchandise stalls and exhibitions on the inside of the Casa da Cultura from Beja’s International Comic Book festival that will take place for some weeks in the venue. On behalf of that festival, we will also have some comic book stalls.


[ESP] - DOOM [UK] ENTRE LOS DESTAQUES DE LA PRÓXIMA EDICIÓN DE SMSF El 4º SMSF, festival que poco a poco sigue creciendo dentro del circuito underground portugués, se irá realizar este ano en la ciudad de Beja en los días 7, 8 y 9 de Junio. Entre las bandas del cartel, DOOM [UK] se destaca por su retorno a Portugal después de 20 años, un exclusivo en SMSF. La banda mítica, por muchos apellidada como unos de los “padres” del crust punk, autores de marcos en el genero, como Rush Hour of the Gods, Police Bastard y World of Shit irán actuar en el Sábado del festival “Anti-Troika”. Los austriacos VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC son otra atracción del festival, con su auto-denominado “babyhating incest snuff goregrind” que promete mucha animación para el público presente. Destaque también para los GÖATFUKK [PT], que irán actuar también por la primera vez con su vocalista original, Wanderer (ex-vocalista de Decayed), en un concierto que tendrá también un segundo guitarrista, Vulturius (IRAE, MORTE INCANDESCENTE) además de otros músicos invitados. [POR] - ENTRADA LIVRE E CAMPISMO GRATUITO O SMSF tem entrada livre e campismo gratuito para todos os que se quiserem deslocar a Beja durante o festival. O campismo localiza-se a cerca de 300 metros do recinto do evento e oferece balneários, wc’s e sombras a quem quiser vir acampar. O festival ‘anti-troika’ já faz isto pela quarta edição consecutiva e dispõe de todas as condições necessárias ao bom funcionamento do evento, tal como tendas de merchandise, comes e bebes (incluindo comida

vegan e vegetariana), wc’s e bancada para as pessoas se sentarem. [ENG] - FREE ENTRANCE AND FREE CAMPING SMSF offers free entrance and free camping to all who wish to come to Beja during the festival. The camping site is only 300 metres away from the venue and has showers, bathrooms and lots of space to settle your tent in. The ‘anti-troika’ festival is doing this for its 4

time and offers all the basic conditions needed for its festival goers, as well as merchandise, food and drink stalls (including vegan and vegetarian food), bathrooms and even tiers of benches for the festival goers to sit on.

[ESP] - ENTRADA Y CAMPING GRATIS! El SMSF tiene la entrada y el camping gratis para todos que desean venir a Beja para el Festival. El camping es a unos 300 metros de recinto del festival y tiene a disposición duchas, servicios y sombras a quien quisiera acampar. El festival “Anti-Troika” regala a su público todas las condiciones imprescindibles al buen funcionamiento del evento, lo mismo pasa con las tiendas de merchandise, comidas, bebidas (onde se incluye comida vegan y vegetariana), servicios y sillas para que los menos resistentes se sienten.

Nesta edição, o SMSF adopta uma iniciativa social durante o festival que passa pela recolha de bens alimentares e não alimentares de modo a entregar a duas instituições, a Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa e a Loja Social de Beja, que têm como objectivo ajudar as pessoas mais carenciadas. Vamos ter voluntários na entrada do festival a fazer a recolha, pelo que apelamos aos festivaleiros que tragam algo para ajudar!

[ENG] - SMSF: A SOCIAL CAUSE This year, SMSF is proud do help a social cause during the festival; we will be collecting food, toys, clothes and other goods in order to help two institutions: the Portuguese Red Cross and the Loja Social de Beja, both of them have the objective of helping people who are economically deprived in our society. We are going to have volunteers that will be collecting the goods. If you can, bring something to donate! It will help a lot! [ESP] - SMSF: AYUDANDO A LOS MÁS CARENCIADOS Esta edición del SMSF adopta una iniciativa social que pasa por recoger bienes alimenticios y no alimenticios a regalar a la Cruz Roja Portuguesa y a la Tienda Social de Beja. Así podremos ayudar a los más carenciados. Tendremos voluntarios en la entrada del festival a recoger los bienes. Se apela al público que traga algo para regalar.

[POR] - VEM DESCOBRIR A CIDADE DE BEJA Beja, cidade antiga, com mais de 2000 anos. Os Romanos aqui fundaram a sede Conventus Juridicus Pacensis, uma das capitais da Lusitânia. Os Visigodos deram-lhe o nome de Paca e os Árabes de Baju, de onde deriva o nome actual Beja. É esta a cidade onde nasceu o SMSF. Aqui podem visitar inúmeros monumentos como o Museu Regional de Beja, instalado no antigo Convento da Conceição, datado de 1459, a Igreja de Sto. Amaro, onde se


encontra o núcleo Visigótico do Museu Regional de Beja, o Castelo de Beja, com uma das mais altas torres de menagem da Península Ibérica, datada do século XIV, o Convento de São Francisco, actual pousada, a Igreja da Misericórdia, do século XVI entre tantos outros. Dispomos também de uma oferta cultural agradável, com centros culturais como a Biblioteca Municipal de Beja, a Casa de Cultura de Beja (onde estará a decorrer o SMSF e o Festival Internacional de BD de Beja), o Instituto Português da Juventude e o Cine-Teatro Pax Julia. Local de visita obrigatória é também o café Luís da Rocha, com mais de 100 anos, apresenta um conjunto de doces considerados dos melhores a nível nacional, como por exemplo o seu famoso “Porquinho Doce”. Venham visitar Beja! [ENG] - COME VISIT BEJA Beja, a city with over 2000 years of age. The Romans founded their Conventus Juridicus Pacencis headquarters here, considered one of the capitals of old Lusitania. The Visigoths gave it the name of Paca and finally the Arabs called it Baju, and that evolved into Beja. This is the town where SMSF was born. Here you can visit a good number of monuments like Beja’s Regional Museum, settled in the old Convento da Conceição, constructed in 1459, the Church of Sto. Amaro, where you can find the Visigothic Museum, Beja’s Castle, with one of the tallest towers in the Iberian Peninsula, from the 14

We also have one of the best coffee/cake shop in Portugal, Luís da Rocha, over 100 years old, famous for its “Porquinho Doce”. Come visit Beja! [POR] - O BAIXO ALENTEJO Beja é a capital do Baixo Alentejo, região de vastas planícies onde as principais culturas são os cereais, o trigo, a oliveira e a vinha, que dão origem aos famosos vinhos, pão e azeite Alentejanos, apreciados no mundo inteiro. Nesta região, a maior do país, não falta uma paisagem bastante diversificada, que alterna com planícies, serras e uma costa de belas e famosas praias. O SMSF está beneficiado por toda esta paisagem em torno da cidade de Beja. [ENG] - THE LOWER ALENTEJO Beja is the capital of the Lower Alentejo, a region with vast plains where the main agricultural targets are cereal, wheat, olive and vine, which give birth to the famous wines, bread and olive oil of the Alentejo, which are spreaded all around the world. This region has a very diverse landscape, with plains, “sierras” and a beautiful coastline with great beaches. Beja, SMSF’s birthplace, is surrounded by all this beautiful landscape.
