“Beyond the Reach”, the leadership development program organized by Leo clubof University of Moratuwa, Leo Club of Mattegoda, Leo club of Bulathsinghala, Leo

club of Raigampurawaraya was conducted on 7th of February at the Lagaan area in

University of Moratuwa.

Lion Roshan Latheef conducted the rst session, which was an interactive

lecture. Then Leo Yasendra did some activities to build team spirit and fellowship of

Leos. It developed the condence, courage, time management of the participants. Also

Team work, communication skills and inter-relationships were improved among the

participants. The day was full of fun with excitement, leadership and new experiences.

Leos wiped out the dust and took up the challenge. They touched “Beyond the Reach”.

DREAMFight Against Cancer

“Valentine’s Day isn’t just about togetherness for couples, it’s about love

in general.”

Did you know that more than half of the world population celebrates

Valentine’s Day by purchasing a greeting card? While there are many Valentine’sDay traditions, this year we Leos thought of a different tradition. Leos dedicated

that day for the small kids in Maharagama National Cancer Hospital.

Leo Club of Unawatuna Diamond Stars, Leo Club of Negambo Host, Leo

Club of University of Moratuwa, Leo Club of Piliyandala, Leo Club of Biyagama

and Leo Club of Colombo Knightz joined their hands together to organize this

worthy cause. Some celebrities also joined to make the event a success. There were

many activities and events which bought much happiness for the kids. We spenta joyful day with them by singing songs and listening to their spellbinding chats.

And also we distributed gifts among them. Their bloomed faces and glittering

eyes told us about their happiness. Love is a universal language that everyone can

understand. On that day we felt the depth of love. “Dream” was able to add a value

to the valentine day.

UoM Leos - two inseparable words. Yes indeed, ’UoM Leos’ are two

inseparable words. They are simply strong. In order to tight up the bond, every year

hidden members are searched. The orientation is the program which the different

generations of UOM Leos meet the newest blood.

The Orientation Program 2k16 was happened on 23rd of February with the

presence of honorable guests and many future leaders. There were fun moments as

well as heart touching speeches.

Lion Vidula Hasaranga, Vice President of Dehiwala North Lions described

what he got from the Leoism while Leo Chathuranga Gunasekara - Past President

of UoM Leos explained how the LEO movement was an added advantage to his

career. Also the fun at Leoism was expressed Leo Dinusha Amarasekara -Regional

Director, in a very interesting way.

IT’S US who never stop, we nd what we seek, What we nd will always be

Leo Youth Camp 2016 When I utter the words “Leo Youth Camp 2016” so many wonderful cherishedmemories ood my mind. Someone once said that “Don’t you think now is the

time to be adventurous while we’re still young”. Leo Youth Camp 2016 of 306

A2 was such an adventurous wonderful experience. It was successfully conducted

at Diyathalawa Military Base on last 26th 27th and 28th with the participation of

more than 100 Leos.

Dreams….. Every one of us has dreams of our own; some are small and someare big. From the childhood we begin dreaming and when our maturity level grows

up and our perception, aspect towards life amends may be the dreams expand their

branches even wider or else turn into a completely different path. However the

most important part is not dreaming but making dreams real.

It’s not such an easy task to make dreams real, but it doesn’t mean that it’s

impossible. Initially we need to have inevitable courage and perseverance from the

beginning to the end. Most importantly we should have a solid faith on ourselvesas well as exibility to adapt in our dreams according to the existing situations.

Unfortunately many of us forget the fact and fail to seek our purpose in dreaming.

Once the dream is commenced we try to follow it up with a list of all the reasons

why the dream is unachievable. We ll our life with excuses and “I can’t.” Many

great companies were conceived from a dream, nurtured in a garage or basement

and grew to be traded on world renowned trade centers. Why not us? Why not our

dream? The only true limits we experience in life are those we create or those we

allow others to impose upon us. If we can dream it, we can do it!

Sometimes you may be the rst person to have such kind of a dream but once

the dream is achieved it will be revolution of mankind. Therefore, while dreaming,

listen to your heart… You will hear the echoing sound of heart that saying,

Drive your dreams into reality

Through imagination Imagination where dreams are born

Convert every failure into victory

Through hardships

Hardships where the challenges come from

Be the beckon be the sailor

Steer your ship of dream

Don’t give up and believe in you

Once in a while the miracles will happen…..

Although, the time we spent never can
