ITS Congestion Challenge
Intellione Solution

The Problem
Congested roadways trapping motorist in long commutes creating great economic and
environmental impactImpactNo coverage no dataNo data no analysisInsight into Network robustness constrainedModeling and Planning compromisedPublic mandate impacted
The Solution
• Real Time Cell Probe Data• Visibility into road network
• Roads wherever there is cell coverage• Dynamic Journey Time Calculations
• Origin-Destination Studies• Modeling (Mobile Densities)• Open API data delivery
• Source for historical database
Intellione’s solution provides real time traffic information collected on every roadway to industry and consumers.
Intellione Traffic“We’ve had the Intellione data in-house since late last year and are impressed with the accuracy, particularly
when compared to traditional field measurement systems. Even more important is the high quality coverage on major arterials and city streets, where it has never before been practical or possible to collect….”
Bruce Zvaniga, P. Eng., Manager., Urban Traffic Control Systems, City of Toronto
How We Do It
• Cell phone data is pulled from the carrier network and converted into locations
• Locations are converted into speeds and travel times
• Tracking 800+ million Toronto area locations per day, 2.5 seconds apart
• US Patents in 2003 and 2007
Intellione converts mobile phone motion into real time road speed and traffic congestion information.
Business Model • Partner with operator for source RF data• Traffic and location data licensed on a per market or user basis• Ad supported consumer model
Making it Available
• Distribution Partnerships– ITS Consulting and Services Organizations– Fleet/Logistics Software and Services Companies– Business Intelligence Companies
• Direct sales with key clients– PND manufactures– Portals
• Consumers through io-vector smartphone application
Targeting Three Strategic Distribution Channels
Status and Timeline
• Current • Live system in Toronto, ON• Remainder of Canada by Q2 2010
• Expand to the U.S. throughout 2010• First 20 markets by the end of Q2 2010
• Testing System in the UK Q3 2009
