Free Membership, Free CPD, Newsletter, Forum, Courses, Jobs

All NS instructors who deliver on a bikeability accredited course must be registered with an ITO.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

Cyclinginstructor.com delivers CPD via a number of channels

Channel 1– 

attend our termly instructor meetings where the first hour will be devoted to a topic withinthe National Standards.  Delivered by an Instructor Trainer and acting as a refresher and an opportunity

to share best practice.

Topics include

Complete Beginners, Level 1 - Games and Drills, Level 2 - Risk and Reality, Level 3 - Multi Lane Junctions,

Roundabouts and Cycling with Large vehicles in Heavy Traffic, Maintenance for Instructors, Snaking, First

Aid, Child Protection.

Over a two year period attendees will have participated in a complete refresher of their NSI course and

be up to date with current best practice

Channel 2

Instructor Trainers working for CI will be able to deliver the CPD modules at client locations.  Course

Material will be available from us.

Channel 3

We are developing a number of Video Training packages, which cover the CPD content and can be

accessed remotely

NSI courses

CI is able to deliver the following NSI courses

NSIA Assistant Instructor 2 day

NSIP Provisional Instructor – 4 day

NSIT Instructor Trainer 2 day

Disability Module   1 day

NSIA conversion to NSIP   2 days

Post Course Assessments and monitoring and mentoring.

Confirmation of ITO membership

Upon joining our ITO members will receive confirmation of membership by email with a unique identifier.

We will also provide a telephone enquiry service.

Forum

ITO members will be able to access a forum to discuss NS Issues

Blog

ITO members will have access to a dedicated blog for announcements and discussion of ITO issues

Newsletter

ITO members will receive a free newsletter updating them on developments concerning the National

Standards

Best Practice Library

CI is creating a library of video material demonstrating best practice of NS training.

Sample forms available for NS reporting

Costs

Basic membership is free and this includes attendance at our termly meetings

NS Courses are chargeable

Post Course Assessments, monitoring, mentoring and other services are chargeable.

Jobs

We are working on making aspects of the Cycle Training Management System available to ITO members.

This will probably function as a referral and booking system for adult training
