_C^ M. Stsmlmix-II_-J(ox_218_-_C^at _B6achj. OntarioWell^ here's ny first report to the l^EC, 1 hop® I will-be of interest and help tothe other nambers. First of all, here is a a\5iti.,aiy of my foreign DXing for tie past.two \Ye0ks. On Jan. 21 between 3315 and 4:06 a.rr.. I received a Eta-opean station operating oa apjroxiinately 1000 kc/s. (-xjoibly 1 or 2 kc/s, more or less.) I itads a recording ofi ihis station (Edison Voice \vriter) and after playing the record o^r ser-eral. time.s I identified this station as Cracow, Poland, (itavaver I am not ^ust surewhether tl»y are speaking Polish or not.) I wonder if anybody knows the call lettersor mnnber of this station? On Jan» 17 between 3:25 and 4:00 I received a staUon operating on 1200 kc/s which 1 identified by the same loethod as being "Badio Ecuador".Does arybo(3y know the call letters and location of this ore? Now in the icystery department. There is one station driving me batty. It speaks Spanish, There is continual voice, no music, plenty of contr.ercials. It operates on approximately 1350kc/s., 24 hours a day, heard only AM. , I think it's a Mexican. Other foreign contacts include: QJJQ, (1580) Jan. 15, 7545 p.m. ..XEBG (1550) Jan, 17, l;45 a.ns, XIEMC(1590) Jan. 20, 2^00 a.ni. 0.^33 (1090) Jan.'23, 9r30 p.a. While we are on the'subject, what are the call letters of the Ouate:.:ala City station operating on approximately 880 kc/s.? (Received evenings Dec. 16-23.) Foreign verifics^tions include:WEIIA W3C & SESK, One last thing - in the foreign department, how do you get holdof the "I'Jorld Radio Handbook?" On the domestic front the following stations were received: K^5PC (710) Jan. 14, 3:05 a.m. KEAR (1550)'Jan. 3S, 2:55; KOK (630) Jan. 19,3:00 and QEW (1320) Jan. 21, 4:00 a.m. The domestic verifications received were:£pi3 KYA £I!*A HOY E JC (fast.) _PLEA^ HEjffi_T!riS Atl£ PI 20_C«>TLY:_It is n.uch easier to cojy a report written or typed /.ith double-spacing and typed orwritten exactly as it is to appear in "DX Ne>vs," By tnis we mean that urivieldy abbreviations slow us down, as do single-styaced letters, Eepitition' also should be a-voided, such as repeating after several consecutive call letters the words "regularschedule" or soT..athing similar, or repeating the location of the statiin more thanthe once. • So - try to send in your rsports exactly as you want it to appear Jji »DXNe'.vs," so that it can be copied right off the paper ahd r^t edited. And, please letus all try to keep our reports down to a half-page, v>hich is 30 typed lines on this"elite type" typewriter. We don't relish sitting here at the type\vriter into the weehours of the morning - it not only constricts sleep, but also your Editor's o\'<-n DXing,You will riote few Thursday All reports in his 'musings.' So, rather than ask theroard to vote a set of iron-clad rules, we're once again a^aaling to you lads to tryto follwv tlBse suggestions, thereby allowing the Editorship of NBC to continue to bepleasure, and iwt a drudge. It isn't fun to decipher abbreviations which are notact^aally dictionar^'-sanctioned and to weeS out technical data, s-och as tubes in various transmitters, etc,I Let us add in all justice that 90^> of you do now conform tothis code df the Editor, if the other 10,^. will fall in line, all will be roses.

WOOX C2S11-2Z. Both TINX and V'OOK are very poor ones, miiMographed forms on yellowpaper, but rtavertrjeless two more to my collection. After several years of tryir^ toget a varie from V.COC, I fir.ally got one by sending the report to the announcer thatdid the progx^am that I listened to. Among ny recent loggings included on 1/22, T/IPC(1230) Lake Wales, Fla. v.ith its 4th Tuesday f/c 4:45-5:00 a.m., in the clear, Ttenon 1/27 added KUJ (1420) Walla Walla Wash, with its late program 1:30-2 a.m., havingslight Qpf< from KSTIJ. At the saraa time, I was copying the relatively nev? iiexicanbolder sta^^ion, XEDI1 (1580) Hsrmosillo, Sonora, who is on daily till 2 a„m. in thsclear. The third logging on 1/27 was the new V<"VOV.' During tlie morning's listeningI finally got abound to sending other powerful Mexican idrder stations reports, namely XEEB and XEG. On 1/23 lodged TO'JJA (1490) hiarietta, 0. on all AI,1 ',.ith a floodbroadcast, for a new one at this den. Than 4:15-4:30 a.m. logged KOOK (970) Billir,gs]/ont, on f/c with plenty of W/SW interference.
