You will see Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, his House on Stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. We also visit the Temple of Literature. Then we explore the Old Quarter of Hanoi, also known as the 36 streets. This bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. In the afternoon, you will take you to inspect some hotels. The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Monday and Friday and in October and November. In this case you will visit one or more of the following museums: Army, History, National Fine Arts, Ethnology or Women's museum. Overnight at Medallion Hotel (Deluxe room) Day 3: 14, 21 May, or 18 June, 2014 Ha Noi – Ky Son village Meals: B L In the morning we drive to Ky Son village where we can walk around to see the country lifestyle and join the locals preparing lunch. Learn more about Vietnamese food and enjoy lunch together.

After lunch, we go for a bike tour around the village; chat with the local people about their daily life and farming, and shop at the daily market to experience the atmosphere. Before we move back to Ha Noi in the late afternoon, we are treated on a so called foot “spa”. Overnight at Medallion Hotel (Deluxe room) Day 4: 15, 22 May, 19 June, 2014 Ha Noi – Da Nang – Hoi An Meals: B After breakfast, we have a transfer to the airport for a flight to Da Nang. (Flight Ha Noi to Da Nang on VN1515 11:00-12:15 **Economy class**) Arrive at Da Nang airport and we meet our guide after which we drive to the hotel in Hoi An. We drop the luggage and have some time to freshen up before we start with the inspection of several hotels. In the afternoon, you will take a walking tour around Hoi An town with its narrow lanes lined with centuries-old houses influenced by Chinese, Japanese, French and European architectures. You will see numerous places of interest like the 400-year old Japanese Covered Bridge, the Phuc Kien Assembly Halls, and the local fish market. Around town, you can see art galleries and tailor shops housed in traditional shophouses. Get some made-to-order clothes if you like. Overnight at Ancient House Resort (Superior room) Day 5: 16, 23 May, 20 June, 2014 Hoi An Meals: B L Following breakfast, you’ll be picked up at your hotel for a drive to a local fishing village on the banks of the Thu Bon River. After a short walk through the village to get a flavor of local life and chat with the fishermen, it’s time to learn how to handle the traditional ‘Thung Chai’ basket boat and fishing equipment. After a profound explanation, we’re ready to join the fishermen for an authentic Vietnamese fishing experience. Cast the nets into the water and learn the skills employed by the fishermen to ensure a good catch. After a fresh seafood lunch at the water coconut palm canal we return to the hotel. Thung Chai Basket boats, similar in style to coracles in use throughout the ancient world, are widely used throughout Central Vietnam. They’re highly suited to the local terrain and lifestyles of local fishermen due to their relative light weight and portability, often doubling as a carrier for various handy items. Circular, constructed of bamboo and tarred for waterproofing, these small boats can typically carry up to five people. It’s a unique fun-filled opportunity to touch the authentic rural soul of Vietnam. As a precaution, life jackets are provided for your safety. Overnight at Ancient House Resort (Superior room)

Day 6: 17, 24 May, 21 June, 2014 Hoi An – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City Meals: B After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. (Flight Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City on VN1421 09:30- 10:45 **Economy class**) We arrive at the airport in Ho Chi Minh and meet our guide. A short transfer takes us to the hotel where we can drop our luggage. You continue to Chinatown where you will take a cyclo to visit Cho Lon with the Ong Bon pagoda. Then, transfer to visit the Fito Museum (First Museum of Traditional Vietnamese Medicine), which is host to a large collection of relics, including traditional Vietnamese medicinal implements. The museum archives the history of medical practice in Vietnam from 2000 BC. This afternoon we also show you the Reunification Palace, former residence of the presidents of South Vietnam before 1975. In the afternoon, we will take you to inspect some hotels. Overnight at Sapphire Hotel (Junior Deluxe room) Day 7: 18, 25 May, 22 June, 2014 Ho Chi Minh City Meals: B This morning, continue your exploration of Saigon and visit the Catholic Museum where you can discover the Nom language. We visit the Jade Emperor pagoda, one of the best Taoist temples in Vietnam with superb effigies, remarkable carved panels of the descent to hell, and somewhat incongruous terrapin and tortoise sanctuaries. After this, we visit the post office. In the afternoon drive to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels. The tunnels are 75 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, an area that played an important role during Vietnam's wars for independence and reunification. More than 200 km of tunnels are built here by the Vietnamese guerrillas, which are now often a highlight of touring South Vietnam. You can explore the bedrooms, meeting rooms, air-raid shelters, smokeless kitchens, and experience life underground in this extraordinary tunnel complex. Overnight at Sapphire Hotel (Junior Deluxe room) Day 8: 19, 26 May, 23 June, 2014 Ho Chi Minh City Meals: B Free time at leisure before your transfer to the airport for your international flight.
