Mark Powellis a Yorkshire artist who specialises in producing ballpoint pen artwork on vintage documents and envelopes, to bring some history to his work.

Watercolours (Material): are pigments compressed together to form blocks in different colours that can be dissolved with water and then used for painting.

Watercolour painting: is normally on paper using watercolour paints. Watercolour is usually transparent and lets the paper shine through. When using watercolour the white is achieved by not painting the paper.

Tip: Watercolour is

transparent (see-through)Don’t use colour too thickly. Avoid using white to make your colours lighter instead use more water and let the white paper add brightness to your work.
