BACKGROUND
Built by Dionicio Rodriguez around 1927 Three large trunks with branches
supporting its papapa roof Style of art is French faux bois (false
wood) Placed on the National Register of
Historic Places in 2004

CONDITION OF THE BUS STOP
Overall in good condition concerningfoundation and structural rebar.
Roof has lost its original finishing due tothe elements.
The structure has lost 70% of its originalcoloration

CONDITION OF THE BUS STOP Water seeping through the roof has caused
efflorescence to appear on the structure. Efflorescence is when a substance changes
to powder due to water and crystallizes onthe adjacent surface.
When efflorescence takes hold, the structuralintegrity of a structure is at great risk.

REPAIRS & RESTORATION PROCESS
The efflorescence can be stopped toprevent any future damage as part of therestoration process.

complete 10 years of protection Traffic control plans will need to be
developed to TxDOT standards

Restoration Process (1 month) = $46,700
Engineering Costs (Traffic Control Plan &TxDOT permitting) = $2,752
Road Closure Costs (Traffic control,barrels, attenuator crash truck rental) =10,168.50
Total Costs = $59,620.50
