1. If the unit is to be shortened, use screwgun or Phillips screwdriver to unscrew left wood support (preassembled) (Y) and front wood support (preassembled) (Y1), from closet side table top - left (A). Keep the 1.5 in. Phillips pan head wood screws (preassembled) (Z), left wood support (preassembled) (Y) and front wood support (preassembled) (Y1) taken for later use. (Fig. 1)
Note: It is recommended to shorten left side of side table top - left (A) only. Use marking pencil to markthe cutting line. (Fig. 2)
2. Use a table saw to cut the closet side table top - left (A), front wood support (preassembled) (Y1) and top back wall cleat (U). Use pipe cutter to cut the long metal rod (L). Cut only one side of the closet, if the closet is smaller than 10 ft. The choice is yours. Do not cut the parts using a hand saw only, as it may cause damage to the parts. Place the beveled edge down against the fence to ensure a clean cut. Help from an insured remodeler is highly recommended. (Fig. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)
Note: Front wood support (preassembled) (Y1) should be shorter than the side table top - left (A) about10 mm from the shortened edge.
3. Apply paint on the cut edge using the provided touch-up paint (V). (Fig. 9, 10, 11)
4. Screw the left wood support (preassembled) (Y) and front wood support (preassembled) (Y1) back on the shortened closet side table top - left (A) using the same 1.5 in. Phillips pan head wood screws (preassembled) (Z) taken from Step 1. (Fig 12)
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR SHORTENING (OPTIONAL)
This is usable in a closet space which is smaller than the actual size of this product. If your closet is 10 ft. wide or larger, there is no need to shorten this unit. Hire an insured remodeler for installation.
