Every building should be designed, constructed, used and de-constructed in a sustainable way.
Essential Requirements 1. Mechanical resistance and
stability 2. Safety in case of fire 3. Hygiene, health and the
environment (use stage) 4. Safety in use 5. Protection against noise 6. Energy economy and heat
retention
Basic Work Requirements 1. Mechanical resistance and
stability 2. Safety in case of fire 3. Hygiene, health and the
environment (life cycle) 4. Safety in use 5. Protection against noise 6. Energy economy and heat
retention 7. Sustainability
The final official version of the CPR, as adopted on 9 March 2011 and published in the Official Journal of European Union of 4 April. The CPR has been fuly enforced on 1 July 2013.

ECO PLATFORM is a harmonization and cooperation umbrella for european EPD providers
• Scope on 2012/2013:
– common interpretation of EN 15804 – scenarios – how to deal with lack of data – use of different databases – Manual to the standard – Verification procedures

Ministry of Economy, National Procurement Office, public bodies (like City of Warsaw) associations of producers and research organizations (like ITB) work together on the product and services criteria to support GPP. Criteria are partly based on EC guidelines and on the national consensus.
Some criteria documents has been already finished like: street lights, theromo isulations products.
New criteria coming soon…EPDs promoted.
NATIONAL PROGRAM FOR GREEN PUBLIC PROCUREMENT GPP
These criteria can be used in a procurement process as 5-20% of all evaluation

Our current research projects on sustainability
OPEN HOUSE - Benchmarking and mainstreaming building sustainability in the EU based on transparency and openness (open source and availability) from model to implementation. OPEN HOUSE (2010-2013), EC-funded Project, ENV-2009-244130, financed by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission. 70 buildings in Europe under assessment in 2012
• SUSTAINABILITY IS OUR EFFECTIVENESS • EPD IS IMPORTANT TOOL BUT LCA IS DIFFICULT EVEN
FOR EXPERTS • PARTICIPATION TO HARMONIZATION PROCESS IS
NECCESITY • WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTATION AND GLOBAL CHANGE
