2013-2014________________________________________________________________ The following are the courses that the Italian Section would like to offer in the 2nd Semester of AY 2013-2014. Please consider the explanatory notes that follow the actual list. I understand that the Chair of the Department reserves the right to make any changes that he deems necessary.

Prof. Emanuela Adesini is a visiting professor. Her subjects are: Italian 10 (2), Italian 11, and Italian 101. Her preferred schedule has always been Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-4pm, no breaks. Please do not give her any breaks nor any Wednesday-Friday classes due to her work at the Embassy of Italy. According to her, she can extend up to 18 hours of teaching as expected by the Italian government. However, I do not recommend giving her the extra load since that would mean more basic subjects than needed at the Tuesday-Thursday schedule. (12 units)

Ms. Naydil Isis Bautista is a lecturer. She works with Prof. Adesini at the Embassy of Italy, thus her preferred schedule is similar: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8.30-11.30am, no breaks. Her subjects are: Italian 10 and Italian 11. (6 units)

Prof. Emmanuel Luis Romanillos is a full-time professor. He has agreed to teach Italian 10-11 and Italian 10. We are reserving his remaining 3 units for a Latin 10 class since according to Mr. Richard Karl Deang’s recommendation, 2-3 classes should be opened. If Prof. Elvin Ebreo will teach all Latin classes, Prof. Romanillos will be given another basic Italian course since the Wednesday-Friday schedule needs more basic subjects. His preferred schedule has always been 7-10am. Please schedule his Italian 10 class on Wednesday and Friday.

Ms. Zotica Zafra is a full-time instructor. She will teach Italian 30-31, Italian 10, and Italian 11. It will be her first time to teach Italian 30-31. This course is expected to have at least 9-11 EL majors. The 2 non-EL majors from Prof. Romanillos’s Italian 14-15 class might also enroll. Please schedule her Italian 10 and Italian 11 on Wednesday and Friday. Her preferred schedule is 8.30-10am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8.30-2.30 on Wednesdays and Fridays with a break from 11.30am to 1pm. However, her schedule is more flexible as she understands that the Italian 30-31 schedule must not be in conflict with other languages.

Ms. Cabling will teach Italian 12-13. She will be teaching this course for the first time. The 6 students expected to enlist in the subject are majors (4) and minors (2). Other interested students will take this course as well. Her remaining 6 units will be for an Italian 10-11 integrated class. She would prefer to start at 1pm.

Ms. Lachel Moral is a lecturer. Due to her work, she can only teach on Saturdays. Please schedule her Italian 40 in the morning on Saturdays.

Ms. Arlene Maurillo is a lecturer and in a similar situation as Ms. Moral. Ms. Maurillo will teach Italian 110 in the morning on Saturdays.

Should you have further questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me.

Thank you!
