Risotto and polenta dishes are most popular in Northern Italy. The gelato ice cream was also invented in Italy. Names like Christopher Columbus, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Nutella and Ferrero Rocher are associated with Italy. The country is also famous for the amphitheater ‘Colosseum’ which was one of the wonders of the world. The official language is Italian and about 93 percent of the population speaks Italian as the native language. However when talking about business culture, English is the most spoken language especially when multinational companies are based there. To make a good first impression, it is advised that people learn a few basic words of the Italian language to communicate with fellow business associates and if necessary, they can also hire a translator.
