The Dragon is anything but a formidablefoe in Chinese Culture. The Dragon is asymbol of good fortune and intense powerin Eastern Culture, in Chinese tradition theDragon is regarded as divine.
We were entertained by Hooi Kok Hong’slion dance troupe of the Internationaldragon and Lion Dance Federation onFebruary 5th 2012. The festivities drew alarge crowd of residents and friends to theclubhouse that Sunday morning. Thetraditional dance symbolizes the bringingof good luck, great power, wisdom,auspiciousness and prosperity. Theperformance was beautifully executed andincredibly professional.

Dear residents,In the few weeks I have been here Ihave had the pleasure of meetingquite a few of you around Gita Bayu.Prior to moving to Gita Bayu I wasthe CEO for a Swiss company inThailand. I am Swiss myself and Ihave traveled extensively throughoutmy career and I had the pleasure ofworking and living in Malaysia andSingapore for more than 8 years inthe 90’s. When the opportunity toreturn to this beautiful and culturallydiverse country presented itself I didnot hesitate before making mydecision to return.
My role here at this stunningresidency is to improve and driveforward the development of ourcommunity. Our initial project whichis well under way on Jalan Bayu 7,The Quintet, will be showcased to ourresidents in the coming months withsome exciting events to support thelaunch planned for July 2012. Thenext project will be the Shop Villagefor which construction will start in afew months and we expect it to openin early 2014.As a resident myself I am excitedabout the future developments at GitaBayu and I look forward to meetingyou personally or you can send me anemail at [email protected].

In view of the many young soccerplayers at Gita Bayu the managementhave decided to provide an areaspecifically for the sport. The allocatedarea is next to the BBQ pits and will befenced off with goals and benches. Avery welcome addition to the existingfacilities available for children.
Our recycling stations have been ahuge success since they have beeninstalled, however in order to maintaintheir efficiency we need to keep inmind the household items that can andcannot be recycled. If your maid usesthis service please advise themaccordingly.Items NOT recyclable:

The location of our new soccer grounds near the BBQ pits
I was treated to a tour of Mr Foo’s spicegarden recently, located just in front ofthe tennis court. It was an Asianculinary experience right in my ownback yard! I was introduced to currytrees, lime trees, turmeric plants, chiliplants, lemongrass and Nicolai orlocally known as Bunga Kantan, andmany other plants that are known fortheir medical and healing properties.As the garden matures Mr Foo plansto extend it, add signs and lay ameandering path through the center.The spices and leaves will be availablefor our residents and our DiningPavilion chef to use in the near future.Arnis, a member of our maintenancestaff tends to the garden amongst herother duties, her passion anddedication is evident.Stop by fora chat withher nexttime you areout strollingaround thegardens.
