INTRODUCTION

We are pleased to inform you that as a part of the Ministry of Transport & Communication Qatar Digital Government Training we will once again be launching our highly successful “IT Talent” training program. This program is a partnership between the Qatar Digital Government Training Program and HEC Paris; ranked in the top three providers of Executive Education programs by the Financial Times for the last 8 years worldwide, to bring to you world-class Executive Education. www.qatar.exed.hec.edu

The IT Talent Program is specifically focused on developing emerging talent and aims to provide an intensive and immersive learning experience. The coherence of the program will be assured by selecting faculty who brings a combination of innovative learning and practitioner experience.

The program is the first of its kind in Qatar and the GCC. The program seeks to provide fresh graduates with a strong and comprehensive foundational knowledge of the most important IT competences and concepts that will boost government IT professionals’ capacity to meet the needs of digital government in Qatar.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

The program consists of 5 classroom Modules run over 14 learning days starting in Q4 2018. To compliment and embed the classroom learning, there will also be additional key components to the program. You will receive one to one professional coaching and will be expected to work with 4 of your colleagues on a real-life business case and project.

The project work will require a significant investment of time, culminating in you and your project team presenting your ideas to senior figures. You will receive support and guidance throughout the process from the team at HEC and your colleagues.

QATAR DIGITAL GOVERNMENT TRAINING PROGRAM

MODULE 1INNOVATION

OVERVIEW

In this Module, participants will learn how to identify the need for organizations to renew the services they deliver as well as the necessary process. Participants jointly explore actual success statistics of various types of innovations. Beyond statistics and concepts, the program will allow participants to experience all the factors for transformational leadership and effective organizational change. Through an experiential learning exercise, participants will develop successful recipes for current and future innovation projects.

Participants will apply the concept of a leadership pipeline to clarify responsibilities at each career level, from being an “individual contributor” early in one’s career to key transitions later on.

As participants come from a variety of teams, roles and departments, they will be able to work on and receive coaching on the innovation dilemmas, as they anticipate and perceive in their daily operations and organizational settings.

MODULE 2WORKING IN AND DEVELOPING EFFICIENT TEAMS

OVERVIEW

In this session, we shift from traps at the individual level to traps at the group and organizations level. Groups can produce better decisions than individuals can, but one must carefully design group interactions to avoid known biases and errors. In this session, we will start our examination of group decision making.

We will discuss how managers must handle conflict, often through difficult conversations. We will give some basic techniques and then practice them through a series of role-plays.

Understand how groups create conformity pressures and steps to take to avoid the problem

OVERVIEW

In this module, we will show how making wrong decision can affect outcomes. We will also begin our discussion with one of the most important roles for future leader, which, is the ability to communicate clearly with others. We start by looking at the science of persuasion and how this knowledge create an effective messages, second we will go over some of the basics of public presentations.

MODULE 5KNOWING YOURSELF

OVERVIEW

This module will focus on how the participants see themselves as a collective and how individuals see their role within that group. During this module, we will give psychometric feedback on individuals via psychometric testing.

The module will aim to identify the gap between how the group currently operates and how group individuals would like to see it operate. As part of this process, we will define ‘rules of engagement’, which the group endorses.

The module will be guided by three themes of leadership: Knowing yourself as a leader and team; guarding against predictable errors in decision making; understanding basic relational styles and their implications.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

KNOWING YOURSELF:We will start by providing the participants with an opportunity to enhance their ability to understand the impact of personality differences in their workplace. It is based on one of the most highly used and respected leadership instrument in the world. We will discuss how one’s own strengths are often simultaneously sources of weakness.

KNOWING HOW YOU INTERACT WITH OTHERS: We will focus on how our own personality shapes our orientation towards others. We will discuss how combinations of orientations create opportunities and challenges in diverse teams.

Qatari National fresh graduate with 0-5 years’ work experience and who has;

- Minimum GPA score of 2.8 or higher

- Good command of spoken and written English; with; TOEFL score of 76 or higher or an IELTS score of 6 or higher

Emerging IT professionals who are;
