For L1 Certification it is required that you provide details of your involvement in 2 areas of Giveback.
For L2 Certification, it is required that you provide details of your involvement in 3 areas of Giveback.
In either level of certification, one area of Giveback must be mentoring.

Giveback - Mentoring
Mentoring is mandatory for both levels of certification.
Ideally, mentor several candidates at once
Mentor/ mentee relationships can take many forms
– Hands-on assistance, e.g. reviewing presentations
– Career advice
– Developing networks and relationships
A broad stable of mentees is even better – across lines of business, geography, job roles

Participation in ITS Certification Review Boards
– Note: Participation on the IT Specialist certification review board is by nomination only.
Contributing to the quality, effectiveness and vitality of the IT Specialist certification process
– For example, by participating in task forces to review and recommend updates to certification processes and requirements.
