Jim Crouch of Quirindi has recently updated his mower conditioner, trading his New Holland 499 mower conditioner which has served him well. Jim has chosen a new New Holland H7230 Discbine for its speed, manoeuvrability and proven reliability. Jim is pictured at the delivery.

It looks like it is time to make Hay Our first new New Holland RB150 Roll Belt Round Baler has been delivered to Adam Skinner at Baradine. Adam was very impressed with the RB150’s ability to bale in very dry conditions and produce a nicely presented bale with good density. Adam is pictured at right with Goodwin Kenny - Gunnedah Salesman Glenn Furner.

Making hay while the sun shines is Craig Thomson, Willala, Boggabri. Craig is pictured at the delivery of his new New Holland T6070 Plus tractor. At 140 horsepower the T6070 is a perfect match for the New Holland BR7060 round baler Craig uses in his contract haymaking operations. The New Holland T6070 has a 16 forward X 16 reverse semi power shift transmission with electronic shuttle, cab suspension and a very quiet cab, all the things Craig needs to spend long hours cutting, raking and baling.

Duncan and Jacqui Gidley-Baird have recently taken up residence in the Dungowan area and needed to upgrade their Ford 6610 tractor for their haymaking and farming enterprise. After inspecting the range of machinery at Agquip they decided on a New Holland TD5.100 with New Holland/Challenge AP35S Plus front end loader and attachments. The tractor will be used for haymaking - mowing, raking and making small square bales. A new Silvan SX500 338 litre capacity Galvanised hopper spreader was also delivered with the tractor. Pictured at the delivery and installation were Duncan and Jacqui, with daughter Erica, and Goodwin Kenny - Tamworth Salesman Tony Housden.

Kevin and Robyn Blake at Gunnedah, with their son Tim, needed to update some of their Haymaking equipment so they would be ready for the start of a busy contracting season. Over the week of Agquip Kevin finalised his orders with Gunnedah salesman, Glenn Furner, and a new New Holland BB1290 Big Square Baler and a New Holland 313 Mower Conditioner were ordered. With the new machines commencing work during the last two weeks Hay Technician, Merv Leard, and apprentice, Nathan Keel, were very busy carrying out the Pre-deliveries to get the machines ready. Both machines performed well during the in-paddock installation & start-up.

The baler produced over 500 bales in the first 3 days with no downtime & with reduced pressure it was capable of 550kg per bale in very dry oaten hay.

Ian McArthur is pictured with his new New Holland 115 4 x 4 Rustler utility vehicle. Ian and his family will use this run-about on his Emerald Hill property to fetch, carry and spot spray. The New Holland 115 is powered by a petrol engine, has CVT [Constantly Variable] transmission and a tipping body. Ian also ordered the optional folding front windscreen to keep the bugs out of the eyes, and with a ROPS frame as standard this makes the Rustler a safe and convenient utility vehicle.

Pictured at right at the delivery of their new New Holland H7230 mower conditioner is Garry and June Day of Aberdeen. Having used a similar New Holland mower conditioner before, Garry knew what he was looking for in a new mower and was quick to snap up our last stock unit.

The Vicon Pendulum spreader is an iconic machine with many farmers having one still in use from years ago. Goonoo Goonoo Pastoral at Manilla/Barraba have taken delivery of a Vicon PS1154 for spreading fertilizer and small pasture seed around the property. The unit was chosen following very positive experiences the staff had with other Vicon pendulum spreaders in the past. The Vicon PS1154, pictured with Stephen Thompson and Goodwin Kenny Service Manager Ken Hatton, has also been fitted with a hydraulic control to open or close the material flow to the spreading arm from inside the cab.

A Muller 15 Bale accumulator was delivered to Duncan Gidley-Baird at Dungowan. Duncan and Jacqueline will use the accumulator with their New Holland 575 small square baler that was purchased earlier in the year. They also ordered a Muller 25’ Hay Trailer for their haymaking enterprise. Pictured at right are Jacqui & Duncan with daughter Erica with the trailer and far right at the installation are Don Formston (Duncan’s Father-in-law) and Duncan with Craig Hipathite from Muller Fabrications.

Just to keep you up-to-date:

A couple of weeks ago we had a visit from a film crew who

have been visiting selected New Holland dealers around Australia to shoot footage for

New Holland. We were asked to find a suitable location and customer - so it was off

to Loomberah to visit the Warden family property, Bernau Station. Mark and Denise

Warden, with Mark’s brother, Rex, were already in the process of baling a crop of

barley into round bales which would be wrapped for use later as feed for their own

stock. As well as doing “action shots” Mark was interviewed and “quizzed” on his

use of Genuine Parts and the back-up provided by his local dealer. Mark and the

Warden family have been dealing with Goodwin Kenny since 1962, when Mark’s

father, Geoff, formed a great working relationship with Aub Goodwin and Pat Kenny,

and the Wardens have owned many Fiat and New Holland tractors as well as mower

conditioners, rakes and balers. While there I spotted an old New Holland 1545

header in the shed, a Fiat tractor still in use and I also got to “open a few gates”

during my visit (while the lazy salesman sat in the vehicle). At the dealership

David Hartmann, our Spare Parts Manager, was also interviewed. When we

see the final “edited” footage we will let you know where you can view it!

Opening Night for the “For the Love of Art” - an exhibition of the works

of the students of Maria Henry was on Friday 19th September. There were

162 works on display from 64 students covering a wide range of subjects and

mediums. Over 200 people attended the opening & it was great to see many

familiar faces there. The exhibition runs until 11th October at Tamworth

Gallery. Pictured at the Opening Night – Art critics (& Cheer Squad) - Jamie

Rutter, myself, Tony & Sharon Housden. And Artists—Laine Abberfield, Kate

Cullen, our Teacher - Maria Henry & myself. I started classes with Maria in

February last year, after talking about it for 6 years or so, and have enjoyed

learning to draw and paint. Maria is always engaging and encouraging, and at Art

I have made some new friends and renewed some old acquaintances. We have a

saying in our student group - ”Art lessons are cheaper than therapy’’.
