It is the Responsible Design Engineer’s Task to do the detailing of the Engineering Change Request ECR. In the course of the detailing he has to specify which Wire Harnesses or Drawings are affected by the change described in the ECR.

Edit ECR Impact
To edit the ECR Impact click on ECR Impact, open the Actions Tab click on Edit ECR Impact.
In the ECR Impact Folder you will find later on the evaluation Results from Manufacturing and Logistic. The Design Engineer can enter here Engineering Cost.
A webform opens allowing you to enter Engineering Cost and to select a Currency.
Once you entered Engineering Cost and Currency click on Done

Add new Parts / Materials
When the change described in the ECR would result in the implementation of New Parts or Materials they would have to be entered here. You should enter here all parts that you currently have on your New Parts List
To add New Parts / Materials Information click on NEW Parts / Materials open the Actions Tab and click on Add New Parts / Materials
A webform like this opens. Again the red fields are mandatory the black fields are “can” fields. The fields you cannot edit are reserved for the Advanced Purchasing input. Start with the selection of a Part Type, then enter Part Family, Part Name and select the Customer from the pull-down menu. Continue with the Supplier Name and the Supplier Part Number. Tick the box Customer Appointed Supplier in case Advanced Purchasing is not allowed to choose a Supplier of their choice

Continue the input entering the Yazaki Part Number if you know it. If you feel some more explanations are required you can add this in the field Description. Associated Parts in case of e.g. a connector can be something like front holder, rear holder or connector-cover. Then you have to enter the Estimated Annual Volume and finally select a Unit of Measure. Now click on Create.

Once you clicked on Create your screen will be updated like shown. You can either click on the Part Type or the Symbol to review what is behind this
Clicking on Connector you can see the so called Meta Data for the example.
In case you have to change it again you can open again the Actions tab and click on Edit Details.

To add a New Wire Harness click on NEW Wire Harness open the Actions Tab and click on Create New Wire Harness

Here you see a completely filled out example for a New Wire Harness. When you are finished with the input click on Create.
A webform like this opens. Again the red fields are mandatory the black fields are “can” fields. Enter Customer Part Number, select a Part Family from the pull-down menu and enter a Part Name. You can continue with a Description, the Number of Circuits and the PSW required by Date. Then enter a Weight and select a Responsible Design Engineer.
Your screen will be updated like shown. Click on the Customer Part Number to see the Meta Data and the structure behind the new Wire Harness.

Her you see an example for the meta data. If you need to change it open the Actions tab and click on Edit Details.
Each and every input that has been made so far you will find in the History.
Under Related ECRs you find the information about which ECR is containing this particular Part. In case of a New Wire Harness it is of course only the ECR which we are currently working on.

If you made a mistake or have to delete the New Wire Harness again tick the box next to the Customer Part Number, open the Actions tab and select Delete Wire Harness

If the Implementation of the ECR would mean that a Wire Harness is no longer required, in other words it becomes obsolete, you would have to enter this here.
It might be that the introduction of a change described in an ECR means that a harness is not longer required; it becomes obsolete. In this case you have to connect it to your ECR. Click on Obsolete Wire Harness, open the Actions tab and click on Add Existing WH Part.

When you now confirm with OK you have disconnected the WH Part from this ECR.

Connect a Revised Wire Harness
If the Implementation of the ECR would mean that a Wire Harness is has to be revised you would have to enter this here.
To revise a Wire Harness click on Revised Wire Harness open the Actions tab and click on Add Existing WH Part

Under Related ECRs you can see which other ECR does contain the Revised Wire Harness. Here you can see that the example part is connected already to 4 different ECRs.
Under Related ECOs you will find the ECO that has been used to release the selected Part. You will always find only one Number there.

Edit Wire Harness List
In the Wire Harness List you will find the Revised Wire Harnesses and the New Wire Harnesses listed. The Design Engineer can enter here the Take Rate of these Harnesses. Later on you can find here the evaluation result from the costing department

To enter the Take Rates of the New and Revised Wire Harnesses you have to clickon Wire Harness List, open the Actions tab and click on Edit Wire Harness List

Under Attachments you should find the Wire Harness Drawing you want to make obsolete. The shown example does not show a drawing as this is from the first upload into ematrix. This first upload is only done with meta data.
Under Revision List you can find all released versions of a Wire Harness Drawing.
If you made a mistake and connected for instance a drawing that should not be made obsolete tick the box next to the Drawing Number, open the Actions tab and click on Remove selected Drawing

If the Implementation of the ECR would mean that an existing Wire Harness has to be revised then thecorresponding drawing should be revised as well and mention the Revised Drawing in this folder.
To add Drawings that would have to be revised click on Revised Drawings, open the Actions tab and click on Add existing Drawing.

When you finished the detailing of the ECR you have to complete your task to promote the ECR to the next lifecycle step. As long as you are still in the ECR just click on Related Task and then click on the task Name

If you are not in the ECR anymore you have to find your task a different way. Log in to ematrix. Open the pull-down menu, open the Central and select .
Your View will be updated similar to this screen. Be carefull that you really select the task you want to work on. To access the Task you can either click on the Task Name or on the Symbol .

It might be the case that for whatever reason you have to reject the ECR. To do this you have to be in the Lifecycle of the ECR.

Whenever you reject something in the ematrixdatabase please fill in a rejection comment.
Add a Comment! Now you have to approve the Rejection. Tick the box and
