Letter from BOT

The International School of Vietnam’s (ISV) rst ever Year Book represents the culmination of many years of planning and eort prior to the commencement of the 2013-2014 school year. ISV’s inaugural year has been an eventful one and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support throughout this time.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank our Teaching Team for all their hard work in making this year such a success. Joining a new school can be a daunting task, our teachers have risen to the challenge and made this year a great one for all the students. Thank you! Through our teachers the school has made signicant strides along the path of becoming an excellent school. The school improvement journey will continue into the next year and the years after that to ensure that we are always doing the best for our learners.

The year has own by and looking back over the year the school has changed so much. In terms of student numbers, the school has grown from 32 to 82 students! 21 dierent nationalities are now represented in the school.

In January we received good news from the International Baccalaureate that we have been approved as a Primary Years Programme candidate school. This means that we are now part of global learning community of more than 1,175,000 students in 3,754 schools in over 147 countries.

In May we received further good news that we have been accepted as a Cambridge Interna-tional School, meaning we can oer both iGCSE and A level examinations in the future.

I am sure that as you look though this Yearbook many happy memories will come ooding back. This is just a snap shot of some of the terric work that has gone on throughout the school this year and it records some events and activities that have taken place both inside and outside of the classroom. The school has developed signicantly and I expect that to continue into the next years.

Have a great break and we look forward to welcoming you back in September.

Best wishes

At the beginning of the school year our class had only three students! Chuong, Hwa Yeong, and

They each made a shape poster and diorama about a traditional story they studied during the unit.

Grade 1 class adopted a giant tiger snail that was found in the playground. The students called the snail “Okane Kudasai”. A Japanese phrase that translates to “money please”!
