Light is shining high up to the clouds waiting, what it will be tomorrow? In the dark and shining stars leading for me to rest.Giant stars in the sky are getting lighter each time.High in the sky the moon is deciding to go down.Time to go for the night to fall, the sun starting to pop out.

Seth Barras

Year Three Winners The sun is a star shining brightly. The sun is a humungous orange star fireball.Light is the heart of the shimmering sun.The sun is a sponge on fire that can talk.Fireworks are explosions of chalk from the sun.

I am bright as I burn.I am bright as I turn.I am as bright as bright can be.At first I am poppy red but I don’t just stay like.As I burn some more I will turn tulip pink until you’ve seen every colour of them all.

The sound of my flame is like a cushion that you may pat,But as time goes on I will sound like two people having a whispering chat.

The smell of myself is as smoky as a lump of burning coal,But I don’t smell anything like a clean and healthy foal.

When I’m touched I burn too much,And I can’t imagine anything such.

People feel relaxed when they see me,And a relaxing time they have.

Mollie Marsh

Year Four Winners I look like a flying red and orange lamp.I am red and orange in the sky. When I am in the sky, I sound like a floating leaf calmly hovering in the dark sky, darker than it is in space. When I am lit up, I smell like salty, smoky bacon that has been cooked 10 weeks ago.I feel calm when I float in the dark blue sky,When people look at me, they feel happy because I am a reminder.I move happily through the dark midnight sky with the sparkling stars.I see the beautiful world where I am floating over the sparkling sea that shines in the midnight sky.I am a lantern.

Dylan Hackett

I look like millions of sparkling tiny pieces,When I blow up in the air. I look like a massive star that glitters in the moon light.I can be many different colours such as blue like the sky and red like blood or even white like snow.

When I blow gently up into the beautiful pitch black sky, I burst into millions of colours.I smell like burning gun-powder and a burning candle wax.The only thing I touch is in the sky which is soft and see-through and the package I am bought in.I think people feel amazed and shocked when they see me because I am made up of so many colours.I float quickly and quietly across the beautiful, quiet pitch black sky.To me the world is dark, damp and dull because I only ever see the world at night.

Love the light always,It is a wonderful thing,Glittering in the bright blue sky.Happy people play in the sun light. The sun is beautifully shining.

Bright Light

It starts dark,Then it becomes light. All throughout the day it’s happy and bright,Then it goes away for another day to come.

Chloe Wilds

Year Five Winners When The Sun Shines

When the sun shines,The kids come out to play. Before the day ends andThe sun sinks away.

The sunset’s wonderful,As we say goodbye,To our marvellous sun,Until the next sunny sky.

Laura Flinders

The Daily Sun

Rising up gleaming bright,The sun is coming out of its bed.Rays of light wake me up,I feel so calm.As I walk,The grass grows,Wind blows,Paradise is all around me.Throughout the day my shadow is changing,Brighter and brighter, warmer and warmer. My shadow is smaller by lunch,Then it goes the other way.Cooler and cooler, darker and darker,Sun going back to bed for sleep,For the day to start again.

Harriet Alliston

Light

I’m curled up under my bed cover,Dreaming of new things to discover.I can see the golden rays of sun,Dancing about and having fun.As the day is almost done,All lights fade with the amber sun.It reminds me of autumn,All of its colours shining brightly, merging tightly. That’s it!I’ve got a new discovery,It’s a colour,I’m going to call it light.

The next day it’s Christmas,I can’t wait.Although last year my gran gave me a plate.

The snow outside is blindingly white,Sparkling and frosty crunching under our feet,The shivery sheep give a bleat. They always dread the cold.We decorate our Christmas tree,It’s even higher than you or me!The fairy light twinkles,Like diamond sprinkles,Flashing blue, yellow and red,I don’t really want to go to bed.But the colourful fireworks ease my mind,As they flash, crackle and bang,Letting out a huge huge clang.Exploding into red, purple, blue and yellow stars,Flying high, high, high up to Mars.

The Bad Day

It was a sunny day and the sun was bright.Unfortunately, some boys were having a fight. The fire engine’s horn was like beep, beep, beep. That man has a phone that looks cheap, cheap, cheap. It was now the afternoon and the sun is going down.I started to cry and had a big frown.Speed cameras flashing. And bad drivers crashing. Can you get me a drink?I am starting to blink. The candle I used to use always had a flicker. But now it doesn’t because it’s thicker.

Spencer Davies

My Friend, Mr Vampire

My friend, Mr Vampire, is a blood sucking night light. He sucks at night and his blood goes bright! If you see him your skin goes white,Like moon light.

Laila May Brook
