Principal’s Message

As we come to the end of Term 1, I would like to wish all our families a safe and

happy Easter holiday. We hope our students rest and recharge over the holiday

break, ready for another great term of learning.

Our teachers have one more working day tomorrow before their holidays begin -

Moderation Day. ACPS teachers will be working with teachers from the Latrobe

Cluster to look at student work samples and use the evidence and research based

Griffin Protocol to assist them in planning for future teaching and learning. Thank

you to our families for your ongoing support of our professional Learning Days.

A reminder that during the holiday break, our Student Council will be

representing our school at the Latrobe ANZAC Day parade and ceremony. We

invite all ACPS students to join in the parade march. Students must be in full

school uniform and meet me at 9.30am next to the Latrobe Memorial Hall.

Finally, a reminder that our School Association AGM is in week 2 of Term 2 and

we are still accepting nominations for parent representatives. More information is

included in today’s newsletter.

Happy Easter!

Yours in Partnership

ANZAC Day - Latrobe Community March

The Student Council will be representing our school

at the Latrobe ANZAC Day parade and ceremony.

We would like to invite any other ACPS students to

join us to march in the parade. Students are

required to be in full school uniform and can

meet Mrs Tregenza at 9.30am next to the

Latrobe Memorial Hall (in James Street). Rather

than laying a wreath, our two Student Council chair

people, Anissa and Hayden, will be laying a book at

the cenotaph which will later be presented to

Rubicon Grove.

World’s Greatest Shave !

On 7 April we had our Crazy Hair Day to raise

money to give to the Leukaemia Foundation. It

was a great success. Most children at ACPS

brought along a gold coin and had super crazy

HAIR.

Hayden, Tim Stillman, Harrison and Mr Connelly

shaved their heads. Mr Connelly said “If we raised

another $50.00, he would also shave his head!”

WELL DONE MR CONNELLY YOU’RE A STAR!

We raised, as a school, $353.00. That number is

not including the $227.00 that Hayden raised and

the $305.00 that the Stillman family raised. All

together we raised $885! Well done every one

who participated in our crazy hair day event.

New Canteen Term 2!

We have decided to trial a new canteen option next term. Each Friday, Devonfield

Enterprises will be operating from the ACPS canteen with a healthy menu for staff and

students.

“HEALTHY CUISINE” promotes healthy eating by using low fat and

no added salt products plus NO NUTS, MAYONAISE or EGGS.

GLUTEN FREE options also available.

When: Every Friday in Term 2 starting 5 May

Student collects brown paper bag from their classrooms.

Place the student’s name, class and order on the front of the bag with the correct money

(no change will be given from school).

Orders need to be into the office no later than 3pm on Wednesday afternoon.

If the child is sick on Canteen Day, the order will be kept for the following week.

Funky Bunnies For the past two weeks in 2/3P

anticipation has been growing for the Easter

Bunny to deliver lots of chocolate this

Sunday. While no one has actually seen the

real Easter Bunny, we decided to give a

picture of a bunny a very funky makeover.

Look around to see what some of 2/3P’s

budding artists have created!

We have also looked at

acrostic poems. I think you

will agree, Drustan has

summarised Easter really

well in his acrostic poem.

4/5AV Persuasive Text The Person I Look Up To.

The person I look up to is my great Aunty June. Open this book and read! If you think that you’re a better

Aunty than her then try and beat these reasons and examples!

Firstly, I look up to my great Aunty June because she tells the best stories and all of them are true! I re-

member, one day when my great Aunty June came to my Nan’s house next door, so me, Mum and Rose

went over have lunch with her. We sat and ate our lunch and dessert and my great Aunty June did most of

the talking . She told us some amazing things! I could have listened to her all day!

Secondly, I look up to my great Aunty June because she is the best cook ever! She bought some apple

crumble to and it was delicious! We went to a family barbeque with all my cousins, aunties and uncles.

There was so much food but Aunty June made the most of it!

Thirdly, I look up to my great Aunty June because she is so kind! At the family barbeque my cousins and I

were picking her flowers and making a bouquet, then we put them all together and gave them to her. She

wasn't the slightest bit angry that we picked all her flowers.

So now you can see that my great Aunty June is the person I look up to because she tells the best stories,

she is the best cook and she is so kind. I hope you now believe that my great Aunty June is the best person

to look up to.

The end.

Mummy is Epic!!!!

Just imagine your role model doing the things that you love. I know that my mum is truly the best.

Firstly, my mum is somebody I clearly look up to because she is caring. An example of this is when I am

hurt she cares for me.

Secondly, my mum is EXTREMELY the best role model for me because she is loving. An example for this is

she will always look after my family and me.

Thirdly, my mum is an ideal role model for me because she is always happy at home and work. An example

for this is she greets everybody at work and at home. She always makes tea for the family.

In conclusion, I think my mum is the best role model for me because she is caring, loving and always happy.

So that is why I think my mum is he best role model for me ever!
