He directed the concerned circles to adopt all measures for implementing the decision on the ground. (SUNA) T he President of the Sudan, Omer Al-Bashir, on Sunday Jan. 31, 2016 returned home from Addis Ababa after participating in the 26th African Summit which has focused on the issue of human rights and the rights of women. In a press statement following return of the President Al-Bashir and the accompanying delegation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, described the summit as a distinguished one and affirmed the unity of the African decision. He said that the recent African summit proved that Africa is moving on the correct track. He further said that the summit has discussed a number of issues and adopted clear-cut resolutions; top of them was its call on the Security Council to cancel its decision to refer the issue of Sudan President to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and to cancel the call for trial of the Kenyan Vice-President. Prof. Ghandour said that the African summit warned that the coming African Summit will issue a decision on collective withdrawal from the ICC if the Security Council did not respond to the African demands. On the American unilateral sanctions against Sudan, Prof. Ghandour said that the African Summit stipulated that the African summit should not abide the American blockade. He said that President Al-Bashir has met on the sidelines of the African summit with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, the Egyptian President, the President of Guinea, the President of Zambia and the President of Burkina Faso. Prof. Ghandour added that he met in Addis Ababa with a number of his African counterparts along with ministers of other countries and deputy Chairman of the European Union. (SUNA) Sudan and South Sudan to Implement Cooperation Agreements Sudan and South Sudan have affirmed their determination to press ahead in implementing the cooperation agreements that they have signed and to work together for solving all issues via continuous dialogue and negotiations at the official and people's levels. At a joint press conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Sudan Barnaba Benjamin held on Sunday Jan. 3, 2016 after a session of talks in Khartoum, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour affirmed Sudan keenness to help South Sudan achieve peace. He said that the two sides agreed to work jointly for solving all the outstanding issues in accordance with the directives of Presidents Omer Al-Bashir and Salva Kiir. Prof. Ghandour affirmed Sudan readiness to establish firm fraternal relations with South Sudan State in all fields. He described the talks held between Sudan and South Sudan parties as successful and opened the door wide for solving all issues, adding that arrangements are underway to hold a third session of talks in Khartoum shortly. For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Sudan described the session of talks as successful and considered a step forward for bolstering the fraternal and neighborliness relations between the two countries. He said that his country looks forward for the continuity of the dialogue between the two countries on the basis of the Joint Cooperation Agreement which was signed by Presidents Al-Bashir and Salva Kiir. He said that South Sudan hopes that Sudan will succeed in reaching agreements and solutions for its problems with the armed movement, indicating that the peace issues in the two countries are linked to each other. government and people, indicating that he plans to invest in

IBRAHIM MAHMOUD AFFIRMS SUDAN ENCOURAGEMENT TO INVESTORS ARRANGEMENTS FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF FIVE DAMS IN KHARTOUM STATE

The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation in Khartoum State Dr. Mohamed Salih Jabir has explained that arrangements are under way to establish five dams in the state in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity, Dams and irrigation to take advantage of wasted water during the fall period for humans and animals and protection from floods. In a meeting on Saturday January 16, 2016 with Commissioners of the Eastern Nile and Karari Localities, the Minister discussed the issue of overlapping in the lands between the people of the localities and the executive authorities and the need for imposing the state power to protect citizens from infringing on their territory. For their part, the two commissioners praised the coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and L i v e s t o c k i n K h a r t o u m s t a t e , w h i c h h e l p s implementation of the annual plan for 2016 and unification of efforts and directing the budgets to achieve the goals of the state's strategic plan. Government announces cancellation of monopoly on three petroleum commodities

In January 26, 2016 the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Badr-Eddin Mahmoud, announced that the government has cancelled the monopoly on three petroleum commodities, which are furness, jet aircraft and gas, as well as to allow the private sector to import and distribute the three commodities through abolition of all administrative restrictions, fees and taxes.

He said that the government would allow the private sector to use all the means of payment without value transferring providing for commitment to the specifications, rules of safety and security measures.

The minister explained, during a meeting with the Ministry of Oil, companies working in the field of petroleum products and the private sector, the main objective for lifting the monopoly is to ensure availability of consumer needs and the productive sectors and unleash the potentials of the private sector to enable it to provide and distribute goods without any restrictions. Minister of Investment reveals plan to raise production of cement to 5 million tons a year

T h e M i n i s t e r o f Investment Dr. Mudathir Abdul-Ghani during a m e e t i n g w i t h t h e m a n a g e r s o f c e m e n t factory in River Nile State January 21, 2016 revealed that the state plans to raise the production capacity of cement to five million tons instead of three million per year to achieve self-sufficiency and export the surplus. For their part, the Managers of Cement Factories stressed competitiveness and high quality of the Sudanese cement, calling for overcoming the obstacles facing expansion of production capacity. The Minister of Investment inspected a number of investment projects during his visit to the River Nile State included Karawan Project for Agricultural and Livestock Production, Tala Project for Agricultural Production and the Al-Ghima Project for Agricultural Production at Shendi Locality. The River Nile State represents one of the largest states, which embraces agricultural and industrial investments exceeded 25 projects largely contribute to the production for export and domestic consumption.The visit also covered Rajhi Agricultural Project at Barber Locality, Liwa Project for Agricultural and Livestock Production at Damer Locality and the Arab Company Project in Atbara. The minister heard, during the visit the issues of investment, implementation of social responsibility programs and the expansion that has occurred in the investment movement in the state. He informed on the introduction of advanced technologies, increase of production and introduction of new crops for domestic consumption and export. (SUNA)

The State Minister at the Ministry of Investment Osama Faisal has discussed January 19, 2016 with the visiting German delegation of investors, including a member of parliament and a number of businessmen, investment opportunities in the country and the possibility of engagement of German companies and investors in the proposed investment projects. The German delegation expressed desire of German investors to invest in Sudan, adding that the aim of the visit is to stand on the investment climate and opportunities as well as to be acquainted with the Sudan comparative advantages in the field of investment, stressing the importance of economic cooperation and the access of German investments and companies to Sudan.

The delegation underlined the need to activate commercial exchange between the two countries besides introduction of German technology and experiences in various domains of investment to Sudan. (SUNA)

The leader of the National Umma Party, Engineer Abdalla Massar, has called for extending the period of the national dialogue to achieve an inclusive accord for solution of the major issues in the country.

In a press statement at the National Dialogue Media Centre in the Friendship Hall Jan. 24, 2016, Massar said that the call for extending the dialogue period

aims at enhancement of work and reaching an outcome lead to durable peace and stability.

He also cal led for implementation of the d i a l o g u e o u t c o m e . (SUNA)

The Hurriya Party, which has joined the National

Dialogue recently, has rejected the internationalization of

the National Dialogue. The Party Chairman, Mohammed Hamdan Al-Semeih

who visited the Dialogue six committees, Monday Jan.25,

2016 told reporters at the Dialogue Media Centre that the

current dialogue is pure Sudanese, calling on all the

Sudanese sectors and the international community to

support dialogue efforts to realize peace and security in

Sudan. He appealed to the armed movements rejecting the

dialogue to join peace process and present their visions on

The Chairman of the Dialogue External Relations Committee, Ambassador, Omer Baredo revealed that the committee has sent delegations to some border areas to inspect the situations of the Sudanese citizens there. The Secretary General of the Expatriates Organ, Ambassador Haj Maj id Suwar, appreciated the role of t h e S u d a n e s e i m m i g r a n t s a n d e x p a t r i a t e s i n s u p p o r t i n g t h e

national dialogue and the peace efforts in the country. This came when he received in his office Tuesday Jan. 19, 2016 a number of expatriates of North Kurdufan State who are participating in the national dialogue conference.He said that the Organ has exerted great efforts and realized various accomplishments for the interest of the Sudanese expatriates; he further said that the national dialogue is one of the most important developments in Sudan, indicating that the Sudanese expatriates have played a remarkable role in the national dialogue. The ambassador reviewed the Organ's accomplishments in the past year included the simplification of procedure, introduction of modern technology and inauguration of new branches in the states.He said that the plan of the Organ in the current year 2016 includes completion of services and technological projects and modernization of work at the organ. Meanwhile, chair of the expatriates of Nuba tribe, Prof. Azraq Zakariya, expressed his pleasure to participate in the dialogue in response to the call of the state. He hoped that the national dialogue outcome will be implemented on the ground toward boosting the unity. (SUNA)

The President of the Sudan Omar Al Bashir has hailed and underscored leading role by the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in handling external relations with nations, regional and international organizations, political and economic blocs. Addressing the closing ceremony of Sudanese ambassadors' 6th conference, Al Bashir pledged to provide all needs for the Ministry so as to be able to accomplish its noble message. The president named January 18 “Sudanese diplomacy day” in a recognition of achievements made by the diplomacy for the country. He also announced his blessing and endorsement of Diplomatic Corps Act; in addition to supplying the Ministry of Foreign Training Center.He expressed his gratitude to pioneer Sudanese diplomats for establishing values and principles upon which Sudanese diplomacy and foreign policy are built based on Sudan's supreme interests and forging friendly and cooperative relations with all peoples and countries of the world. The First Vice - President of the Republic, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, affirmed Sudan keenness to establish constructive roles at its Arab and African regions and the international level. This came in his address to the inaugural sitting of the Sixth Sudan Ambassadors Conference Monday Jan. 18, 2016 at the Friendship Hall. He pointed out that Sudan is adopting a foreign policy based on the exchange of interests with other countries.The First Vice - President asserted that Sudan is adherent to its principle for consolidating the relations with the neighboring states and the countries at the regional and international levels. Lt. Gen. Salih called for mobilizing the energies and capabilities for launching a wise diplomatic work.He emphasized the keenness of Sudan to establish firm relations with South Sudan State far away from foreign intervention in the internal affairs of countries. He affirmed that Sudan is proud over its African and Arab affiliation, indicating that Sudan participation in the “Decisive Storm” was evidence of Sudan commitment to maintain strong ties at its Arab region. He asserted the keenness of Sudan to cope with the international foreign policies that aimed at realizing social peace, combating extremism, human trafficking, terrorism and money laundry. He said that Sudan door is open for enhancing its relations with the West. In addition, he affirmed the Presidency support to the conference, hoping that it will be held twice every year for more enhancing to the performance. (SUNA)

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, reaffirmed S u d a n k e e n n e s s t o establish cooperation, p a r t n e r s h i p a n d integration with the countries at the region, especially the neighboring countries.

Addressing the opening session of the Sixth Conference of Sudan Ambassadors at the Friendship Hall Monday Jan. 18, 2016 Prof. Ghandour said that Sudan has succeeded recently in enhancing its relations with many countries.

He affirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to press ahead in its efforts to adopt policies, mobilize energies and create political initiatives for strengthening the relations with the neighboring countries and realizing Sudan interests.

He said that the motto of the conference "Effective Diplomacy for Reaching Peace and Development in Sudan" affirmed the endeavor to achieve the goals of peace and development in Sudan relations with other countries.

Prof. Ghandour said that Sudan is keen to maintain good relations with South Sudan that shares several interests with Sudan.

He further said that Sudan is also keen to support stability in South Sudan. He indicated that Sudan is maintain special relations with neighbors Ethiopia and Egypt and coordinating efforts with them on various issues, especially with regard to the Renaissance Dam.

The Minister pointed out that Sudan participation in “Operation Decisive Storm” is good evidence on Sudan stance in cooperating with the sister Arab countries, especially the Gulf States, asserting the keenness of Sudan to establish strategic relations with the Gulf countries.

Prof. Ghandour stressed that Sudan door is open for enhancing the relations with the West countries.

He tackled in his address the efforts of Sudan government to combat human trafficking, terrorism and money laundry, stressing that Sudan is adopting a moderate foreign policy and combating violence, extremism and the negative forces that affect international peace and security.

The Minister also reviewed in his speech the on-going efforts to achieve peace in South Kurdufan, the Blue Nile and Darfur through continuous dialogue and negotiation with the gun-holders. (SUNA)
