Some of the highlights include: Soldiers retaking a failed course or taking courses to increase their grade point average (GPA) to regain TA eligibility must enroll in GoArmyEd regardless of funding source. Counselors are no longer able to complete manual GPA recalculations. Course must be taken after the GPA hold was placed on the Soldiers account. Restates that under no circumstances will a Soldier personally reimburse an educational institution for previously approved TA funds. TA is not authorized for classes available in Army e-learning unless the class is specifically required on the official degree plan. Soldiers cannot pursue a lower or lateral level degree with TA even if TA did not fund the previous degree. The only exception to this is a certificate program. Twenty-one (21) semester hours are allocated for a graduate or undergraduate certificate regardless of the Soldiers current degree level if no certificate was funded by TA in the last five years. Eligibility for the transition or second certificate requires Soldiers to wait at least five years after receiving their first certificate.
