“We have a secret in our culture, it’s not that birth is painful, it’s that women

are strong.”

We live in a world where in many places women are still fighting for their

rights. This man’s world they say we live in would not exist without a woman.

I am extremely thankful for the women before me who fought for my rights.

Compared to previous generations, I am grateful to be able to receive an

education and build a career. They say women are not strong enough to be

in high ranks because they are overtaken with emotions; they do not know

that with the right tools women can control these emotions. When a woman

has the education, the confidence, the skills, and the right mindset; she is

unstoppable. In all different careers, we are witnessing an emergence of

women reaching to high places and it is only the beginning. Yes this is a man’s

world. Yes women have to work twice and thrice harder to achieve the same

results and be accepted in society; but they are doing it. We are doing it.

I encourage every girl in the world to work on herself to build the best

version of the future woman she wants to become until she reaches her

goal; and I salute every woman who got there. Wear your ethics, education,

will power and determination on your sleeve and you can conquer the

world. Do not hinder your motivation from cultural pressures and definitely

do not quit when you face barriers.

On a personal level, I like being a woman in a man’s world; for at the end of

the day, men cannot wear dresses but I can wear the pants.

Until next issue,

THE BurBErry TrENCH COATThe VisionSince its founding in1856, Burberry has become defined by its outerwear heritage and its iconic trench coat. When Thomas Burberry invented gabardine, the Burberry brand became synonymous with the passionate adventurers, aviators, cartographers and mountain climbers who wore his coats while pushing the boundaries of human experience.

THE HISTORY

Originally created to protect officers from wind and rain, the Burberry trench coat has evolved over 100 years to become an icon, representing timeless British style and design innovation. Named after the trenches where military personnel were stationed, the coat has a rich and vivid history.

The trench coat began as the Burberry Tielocken, patented by Thomas Burberry in 1912. The innovative design featured a belted closure without buttons and was made from gabardine, the patented fabric that accompanied explorers on the first expeditions to the poles.

Over the years, the coat was developed to serve the needs of officers in the early 20th century. Lauded for its protective qualities, comfort and durability, the design grew in popularity and was worn by royalty, film stars and artists. Now the Burberry trench coat appears across the globe, from London to Paris, New York to Shanghai.

GABARDINE

At the heart of the Burberry trench coat story is the tightly woven cloth that sets it apart from all others. Invented by Thomas Burberry in 1879, gabardine revolutionised rainwear.

Before this innovation, fabrics were waxed or rubberised to repel water, making them heavy, stiff and uncomfortable to wear for long periods. Gabardine was made from yarn woven in a compact twill construction with over 100 interlaced threads per centimetre. The microscopic open spaces in the weave allowed ventilation, while the compact structure prevented rain from permeating the fabric. For extra protection, the cloth was then triple proofed, creating a lightweight, highly weatherproof and breathable garment.

Woven at the Burberry mill in England, today gabardine is created using many of the traditional techniques that originally set it apart from other fabrics, alongside new, modern finishing processes that make it more water-repellent than ever before. From raw materials to finishing, every step in its production is carefully considered. The

ON THE COVEr

cotton is chosen for the fineness and length of its fibres, which give a clean surface texture and enhanced strength. This is then spun into yarn, which itself is super-strong and durable, created from two fine yarns twisted together in a process known as doubling. The colour of Burberry gabardine is strictly controlled and must be signed off by experts at the mill. After final approval, the fabric undergoes finishing and is checked twice more by eye to ensure the cloth is flawless.

THE DESIGN

Developed for the military, each unmistakable detail of the Burberry trench coat was introduced to serve a purpose:

Epaulettes: Displayed the rank of officers, while the gun flap, buttoned at the chest, gave the area additional protection when in action.

Storm shield: Covering the upper back, was added to ensure that water ran cleanly off the coat and kept the wearer dry.

Belt/D-rings: The coat was belted at the waist

to add further protection from the elements, while metal D-rings were a place to attach military tools.

Back: Allowing ease of movement, the back pleat was constructed to expand when running or on horseback.

THE CRAFTSMANSHIP

Burberry trench coats are made in Castleford, a town in the north of England, by expert workers who combine traditional techniques with modern technological developments. It takes approximately three weeks to make each coat. Over 100 highly skilled processes must be completed, each one to ensure the quality and unique appearance for which the Burberry trench coat is known.

The collar: The most intricate of these is the stitching of the collar, which is unique to Burberry trench coats. It takes up to a year to learn to stitch the collar alone, using a method that is part of Burberry design heritage. The craftsman hand-places 11.5 tiny stitches per inch along the length of the collar to create a fluid curve, ensuring it sits perfectly on the neck.

Page 20: Issue 71 - March 2015

18 THETALK /March / 2015

Details: Detail is key in the creation of the trench coat. The cuff straps and belt are constructed and stitched so that their edges are clean and flat, while the formation of the back pleat has not changed in 100 years, staying true to the design for horse riding.

The lining: The attention of expert craftsmen is focused outside and within. Each coat is lined with the iconic Burberry check, a badge of origin since the 1920s, which is made up of a signature combination of camel, ivory, red and black. Each lining is carefully cut and placed to ensure the check design is symmetrical and unbroken, while the undercollar lining features a bias positioning, with the lines of the check meeting at exactly 45 degrees.

OwNEr Of DEliCiOSOBashayer Naif Al Sabah

Bashayer Al Sabah is a life enthusiast and a risk taker when it comes to doing what she loves. She owns and runs a sweets and pastries concept business called Delicioso which aims to be the One-Stop-Center for favored international sweets, snacks, and pastries, made here in Kuwait.

Tell us about yourself.I have my own business concept for sweets, pastries and appetizers. It is basically a unique concept. The idea was to pick a dessert from every country at our restaurant; I chose a few countries from every region.

How did you come up with this idea?I was looking for something unique where I could prove myself and I realized that, since food is everyone’s passion. Being a fan of chocolate and sweets, I decided that this is what I wanted to do. I wanted to combine the world’s best desserts in one store. Delicioso is a Spanish word and I like the Spanish accent, so this is how I chose the name.

Where can we find your store? It used to be in Galleria 2000, I am currently relocating the store and will open three branches in different areas in Kuwait including Jahra. Besides your passion for desserts, what are your interests?I’m interested in fashion. I’m involved in several opening for different exhibitions including fashion and makeup. I’m currently thinking of opening a fashion boutique soon.

Where did you study?I finished my high school in Lebanon and graduated with a bachelor in Business Management here in Kuwait.

“I believe that without women, no men would exist”

Who do you usually turn to for the ultimate support?Emotionally, my mother. Business wise, I do my research without consulting anyone; nowadays, everything is a click away and can be accessed online. I like to be unique and have my own ideas.

What was hardest part about your career journey?I would say it is staff management. I have collapsed a few times because of this. I am not good at management; creativity is more my thing. I have a difficulty maintaining balance between toughness and kindness with my staff. I decided to hire someone to do it.

What is the key to a successful career?Determination, intelligence and creativity.

What is the biggest career mistake you have ever done?I don’t think I have done any big mistakes. I think I hired the wrong sales people at some point.

Is there anything you wish you had learnt when you were younger?Yes, maturity. I have wasted a lot of my time when I was younger. I wish I had realized this earlier.

What is the source of fun in your life?I take my business as a hobby; I involve my friends

in the process of making desserts sometimes. I never consider my business as a source of stress.

When you are not working, what would you be doing?I love to travel and to spend time with my mother.

What is your favorite country?Italy. There is a lot of beauty in this country. The men are handsome, the food is good and the country is just beautiful.

Do you believe that women are strong enough to achieve what they want?I believe that women are stronger than men. Women can multitask whereas men can’t.

So you like being a woman? It is the best thing. I like the idea that I am a woman and I am able to prove myself well. A woman is an unconditional giver. Men could be selfish when they give, it is their nature.

What do you dislike about being a woman? To be a woman in a society where she is underestimated. I believe that without women no men would exist.

Fatima Al Qallaf sets a great example for women who prove it to themselves and to others that they are capable of rising above all barriers one can think of when it comes to a tough career. On the outside, she may seem way too feminine to run a company. On the inside, this woman is a beautiful combination of both strength and loveliness.

Tell us more about yourself.Fatma Al Qallaf, I graduated with a bachelor in Administrative Sciences from Kuwait University and a Master Degree in Business Administration. Prior to starting my career, I had an eight year experience in a different field. I searched for jobs at different organizations and received several offers, until my brother – owner of Clean Care – offered me to join him and that’s how it all began. I loved the idea and we became partners.

What was the first fruit of this partnership?

The company was catering to the commercial sector such as beauty

salons, beauty clinics, restaurants, hotels and so on. I suggested that we expand our circle and cater to the residential sector like villas, apartments, chalets and so on. My initial approach was through social media, we started sharing pictures of before and after

services and that was how we became known.

What’s the name of the company?Clean Care.

What services does it provide?Cleaning services that begin with free consultancy; many people turn to us with the intention to get their houses cleaned up but simply do not know what to begin with or how to accomplish the mission. We view the place and give the client an idea in terms of how long the process of cleaning is likely to take, the price and the estimated result. Some places require maintenance in addition to cleaning.

What are the factors that you consider when viewing an interior? We always take into consideration five factors: space, count, type of flooring, how old the stain are and level of hygiene. We price our services according to the factors I mentioned, and that is why they are important.

What was the shortest process of cleaning? Our staff works on projects for eight hours per day. The shortest time it took our staff to clean a villa was a duration of four days. As I said, it is all bound to the five factors I just mentioned.

What are the qualifications of your staff? I always make sure that they are educated; we look for a high school degree holders at least. I believe that this helps the employee deal with the client in a more efficient way. Then, we test the employee and assess their work for three months before hiring them. I supervise my staff very closely and make sure they are working as a team.

24 THETALK /March / 2015

Page 27: Issue 71 - March 2015

“It’s good to be feminine all the time and only act like a man in

tough situations”

What about your prices? Our prices range. Our customers may find our prices a little higher, but we believe that our concept in cleaning is different compared to other cleaning companies. We provide a quality service and use very high-quality detergents and tools that we import from outside Kuwait – mostly from Austria, Italy, USA and Germany. We encourage local products, but we are trying to use environmental-friendly products.

Enviromental-friendly as in chemical-free?Yes, detergents that do not contain toxics and do not cause allergy. Our company’s name is CleanCare – we not only clean but also care for our staff and clients’ satisfaction and well-being.

Did you face any difficulties?I would call them challenges and not difficulties. When I first started, I involved myself in all the details; I worked all departments and engaged in every operation at the company. I like to turn difficulties into challenges, and the biggest challenge was mostly being the first woman to run a cleaning company, especially that the field is known to be dominated by men. Women in Kuwait have entered all the business fields without exception and I’m very proud of this fact. I’m not the only Kuwaiti woman who proved this to be true; there are many women who succeeded in proving themselves in various fields.

What about future plans for Clean Care?We are planning to launch a new approach for car cleaning in the near future.

How do you feel about the fact that Kuwaiti women have proven themselves in different fields lately? And is there a field that you wish to see Kuwaiti women in?I think that Kuwaiti women are brave and strong;

they have succeeded in different fields and entered the world of business with steady steps. I think I wish to see a Kuwaiti woman as a judge one day. Not all women are capable of balancing their emotions and I think they can be fit for this.

Would you become a judge? No. I don’t think I can control my emotions. I get unnecessarily very emotional sometimes.

Do you think women’s emotions can have a negative influence sometimes?A woman needs to balance her emotions; she can’t

be either too tough or too emotional.

What is the best thing about being a woman?I have to say Femininity! Some people would tell me that I act like a man in certain situations, but it is only momentary. It’s good to be feminine all the time and only act like a man in tough situations.

What is the worst thing about being a woman? The perspective through which a woman is viewed as a weak entity in the eyes of society.

fOOD PHOTOgRAPHERAysha AlShaibaniThere are a lot of food photographers out there, but Aysha has a particularly keen eye for food. With images that are both haunting and magnificent, and make you look at everyday’s food from a different perspective. I was curious why she chose to take her photography in this particular direction for this very personal project, focusing on local foods from the town’s best restaurants. THETALK asked Aysha some questions about what she does, how she gets such amazing shots, and what motivated her to take on this project.

Tell us a bit about yourself. My name is Aysha AlShaibani and I’m a Food photographer at Peacock Marketing Solutions. I am the youngest of six siblings.

What first attracted you to photography — and how did you discover it?I started in 2011 when I was making a dessert at home. My family and close friends started asking me to take pictures of them. As many orders

came through, I needed some professional shots for my home business. I said to myself “why not do it myself?” and that was the beginning my journey. As soon I stopped baking at home, a new passion drew me – I fell in love with the art of photography.

Did you face any difficulties?Nothing worth having comes easy; every path has its obstacles. As a photographer, you invest in your camera and ongoing development of your skills in photography.

How would you describe your style?Simple and neat.

Did you study photography?Owning a camera does not make you a photographer. I was very interested in learning the art. There is a lot to learn lightening, technique, angles and many more. I believed that this can be accomplished through researching and reading, so I started reading all about it on my own. I also took photography courses to cultivate my skills.

What is your favourite photography accessory, other than your camera?Light reflectors.

How important is Photoshop in your final images?I rarely use Photoshop, most of my photos are organized and edited in adobe light room.

Is there anybody or anything you would love to take pictures of in specific? Why? Other than food, I enjoy fashion photography – it is a personal interest.

Can you tell us the true basis of your inspiration? My inspiration is beauty; I see beauty and simply want everyone else to see it too.

“A confident woman can accomplish great things”

If you could live anywhere on this awesome planet where would you build your dream home?It would be in Milano, specifically Piazza Duomo. The food is exquisite, the scenery is beautiful and the history of the city holds great a story.

In your opinion, what is the greatest strength of a woman?A confident woman can accomplish great things.

Is there anything you would have done differently during your photographic career? No, I believe I have tried to learn from my mistakes; they have made me stronger.

Is there a famous photographer who inspires you?Yes. Saleh Eyadah.

Incense & Cedrat is the new addition to Cologne Intense, a collection defined by rich and rare ingredients. The fragrance was created by Master Perfumer, Marie Salamagne, using the scent of Omani incense, the most precious in the world. Produced for over six thousand years, it is harvested from the revered Boswellia sacra tree found in a swathe of land between ocean and desert, Dhofar. The following Q&A with Celine Roux, Fragnance Director at Jo Malone reveals more details about the distinctiveness of the new fragrance by Jo Malone.

What is the inspiration for this fragrance? We were inspired by incense from Oman. It’s the most historic and precious incense in the worldwith many myths surrounding it and a real sense of rarity. This was a perfect match with the characteristic rich and rare ingredients that define our Cologne Intense collection. We loved the way it’s so intrinsic to Omani culture, often layered with other scents. This made complete sense to us as the philosophy of Fragrance Combining™ is an intrinsic part of our DNA. We were inspired by Omani incense for all its unique qualities, its history as well as its potential to create something entirely new, modern and of-the-moment.

What was the brief?Omani incense is a multi-faceted ingredient and we wanted to play with this, experimenting with a new freshness and emphasising its unusual combination of traits. We knew we wanted to use NaturePrint™ technology to reconstruct the scent, preventing damage to the Boswelia sacra tree and its surroundings. This was the first time this process has been applied to Omani incense in perfumery, so we waited for the result with excitement. Once we had the extraordinary NaturePrint™ scent, we wanted to highlight its unique character,

modernising it and adding an unexpected Jo Malone London twist. Mar ie Salama gne, Mas ter Perfumer

How did you interpret the brief? The Middle Eastern sense of ritual is something that’s caught my imagination since I started my life as a perfumer. Fragrance is absolutely at the heart of Omani culture and is approached in a very special way which really resonated with me. Omani incense is an almost mythical historic ingredient. My challenge was to celebrate it, modernise it and to give it a Jo Malone London twist.

Omani incense has never before been captured in perfumery, so how did you treat it?The really special thing about this project is that we used NaturePrint™ to capture Omani incense for the first time in perfumery. We spent months scouring Oman for the finest incense before bringing it back to the laboratory. When I smelt the NaturePrint™ note it was instantly inspiring. It was so close to nature. The traditional smokiness was there but there was also a freshness, something illuminating. This particular harvest of incense will never be captured again and is something unique to Jo Malone London and Cologne Intense.

What is incense like to work with? What form does it take?Incense is a hot-tempered material! The main challenge was to capture its modernity and to tame its dark character. It works well with other materials with character such as other resins, woods and spices. On the skin, it has an impressive evolution. You really have to live with incense, smell it again and again at differenttimes of the day to experience all its facets.

Why is Omani Frankincense so different/precious in comparison to other forms? The Omani incense tree, the Boswelia sacra, grows in the Dhofar region. Dhofar is just out of range of the monsoon rains but cool winds still depress air temperatures in summer months. This

climate makes it different from the other forms of incense. Omani incense is considered to be purer. It has a greenish-white, yellowish-white, or greyish colour and an intense aroma. It’s is also special as it’s the most ancient and is the traditional spiritual oil of biblical times.

How is incense extracted from the Boswellia sacra tree?Incense is extracted from the male Boswellia sacra trees by incising the bark. At certain times of year the trees are cut with special knives releasing tears of fresh resin which are left to dry in the sun. At the beginning of April, as soon as the temperatures start to rise, the incense gatherers cut the frankincense trees in many places. The first ‘cut’ consists of paring off the outer bark of the branches and trunk. Then three more follow. The process requires great skill and the same families work on the harvest for centuries.Incense & Cedrat are both rarely used as the main ingredients for a fragrance,

why did you choose to focus on these? Both are unique in their families. Omani incense stands out among the balsamic notes, it has something special. Among citruses, cedrat is one of the more subtle. It has a more luminous and green character and a crystalline brightness. I used this to highlight the elegant freshness of incense. Cedrat helped me to find thelight in the darkness of incense, and to create a positive energy and modern luminosity.Historically, incense is associated with religion and medicine.

What does this fragrance mean to you?Man has always had a special connection with incense. It has a strong spiritual meaning. For the people of the Dhofar region, the Boswellia sacra is a symbol of life. I really like this idea of life and meditation. Something which helps you to find peace and energy.

How is Incense used for scenting in Oman?Incense is at the heart of culture in the Middle East. It comes in a resinous gum form which Omani people burn to perfume their clothes

and homes, or an essential oil which is applied on skin and hair. Incense burners are strong part of Omani ritual, used in religious celebrations, hospitality, healing, protection and meditation. Combined with woods, spices, flowers and resins, incense composes the local bakhoors which can be found in a lot of artisanal markets in Oman.

Where do you feel Incense fits into the Cologne Intense Collection? What new element does it bring? It complements the spicy and woody territories. The Cologne Intense collection didn’t have a resinous scent and I think Incense & Cedrat gives a new kind of intensity. Rich, elegant, textural and so addictive!Fragrance layering is a tradition in Oman. Can Incense & Cedrat be combined with any other fragrances from the Cologne Intense range or from within the Jo Malone London Fragrance Arc?

My personal favourites are two completely different combinations. I like to combine it with another Cologne Intense, Oud & Bergamot, for a sophisticated woody fragrance that’s hypnotic and masculine. And for a completely different mood, try layering Incense & Cedrat with Red Roses. It creates a multi-faceted rose fragrance, spicy and sensual with incense.

THE fACE Of THE SACOOR BROTHERSNEW WOMEN’S COllECTiON ANA BEATRIZ BARROSInternationally acclaimed as one of the best models at the moment, Ana Beatriz Barros is the new world ambassador for Sacoor Brothers. She has been chosen to represent the spring/summer 2015 collection.

This Brazilian super model and fashion icon is taking part in Sacoor Brothers’ advertising campaign along with legendary Cristiano Ronaldo, showing off some of the proposals for the next season. “We are delighted to be able to work with Ana Beatriz Barros, one of the most talked about names in the industry. She radiates the charisma and elegant good spirits that represent the essence of the new collection”, said Mariana Rodrigues, Sacoor Brothers’ Marketing manager. This season, prints with modern floral motifs, fabrics with a vintage look and ethnic patterns make up Sacoor Brothers women’s collection. But more glamorous items, recreating casual chic looks, are also included in the fashion proposal which will be in the shops soon.In existence for 25 years, Sacoor Brothers has grown by defining trends and innovating services and products. It is now present in nine countries. With a personality that consumers identify with, the brand represents elegance and has a distinctive code that has made it a premium, across-the board brand.

You were discovered by a talent scout when you were out walking with your sister. Was it a difficult start for you at the time?I was on the beach with my sister, in Rio de Janeiro, and I had no idea what the fashion

world was. I was 13 and I hadn’t even heard of Claudia Schiffer. But my mother – who was always looking ahead, she always wanted to know about everything – used to measure me every month to find out how tall I was going to get. She was convinced that I was really going to be a model. Later, I won a contest and I was able to get a world contract. I moved to New York then. It was very hard for me at the beginning. I didn’t speak English, I wasn’t used to that cold, the competition, rejection – having everybody saying “no, no”… But as time went by, I began to understand the business.

What did you want to be when you were a child?I wanted to be a doctor, but nowadays I faint at the sight of blood. I don’t think I’d have been a good doctor.

Although you are very young, your career already spans almost 20 years. What were the most memorable moments for you? My first big fashion show – a show for Christian Dior – that was when I really thought: “I’ve got where I wanted to get, I’ve reached the top”. Then, there was also my first job at Victoria’s Secret, which became a veritable phenomenon. Nowadays, you are an internationally recognised model. Do you handle fame well?Yes, it’s my job. I like it when people recognise me, the affection from fans... I work for that. I even like it when they ask to take photos – after all, I’m a model, it’s my job.

Do you have any record number of hours worked in one day?I’ve worked almost 20 hours straight, without stopping, and more than once. Is it true that your only professional flaw, or where you are not so good, professionally speaking, is that you are shy?In the beginning, I was very shy. When people stopped and looked at me, I used to panic a bit. But then I learned to deal with it and I lost my shyness.

And what’s your best quality as a model?I’m very professional. I’m always on time, I always do what’s asked of me. I go out in the cold, I jump… whatever they ask. Nowadays, how far do you hope to go? It’s hard to say, after a career of 20 years... I’m very happy with my life. But I’d like to do a makeup campaign. I’ve never done one. Do you like football?I do. Have you ever tried playing?I have and it was a disaster! What was it like working with the best in the world? It was great. He’s really nice, calm, not at all like a “star”. I was flattered. Did it go as you expected?I’d already heard that Cristiano Ronaldo was really calm, so it went just as I expected. What do you mean by “really calm”?Relaxed... For example, I said to him: ”Can I lean on your shoulder?” and he immediately said yes, that I could do what I wanted. He didn’t make any restrictions. And also, when he came into the room, you could feel a presence, a very strong light.

What’s your wardrobe like?I think I’m usually casual chic, but it depends on the occasion. For example, if I wake up feeling pretty, I like to dress well, put on some makeup... But, if I’m tired, I prefer a more relaxed style. Jeans, no makeup.

But is there ever a time when you don’t feel pretty? Of course. Lots of times. I’m human. In your leisure time, away from the spotlights, what do you like doing?I love horse riding. It’s my passion. I’ve been riding since I was 6. I also love food, trying new dishes… I love travelling. I love spending time with the people I love – with my friends, with my boyfriend, my mother. Honestly, I’m a person who enjoys living. How do you like to dress for a red carpet event?Chic.

What advice would you give a woman for knocking them dead?I think women need to take care of themselves: not just their beauty, but their health too. Anyway,

men prefer women who take care of themselves.

What’s your favourite Sacoor Brothers item this season? The white dress I was photographed in with Cristiano. It’s beautiful. Do you have any mentor? My mother. I really trust her. If she says “fall in the hole”, that’s what I do.

An object you are never parted from…My phone. Something you would change in your life..I think I’d like to have a bit more routine. It’s something I believe is necessary and, for now, I can’t have it. When you finish modelling, what do you intend to do?I want to have my own brand. I want to be a designer... There are lots of things I want to do: learn to cook, speak French… Everything I didn’t have time for when I started working.

THE MANY FACETS OFANDrEw gN

Andrew Gn’s contrasts and influences are fascinating and unexpected. Is he an Asian designer? A European classicist? A 21st century mind with an 18th century heart? Crisscrossing eras, zigzagging between Orient and Occident, straddling high-culture and pop-culture, all with a sense of humor and warmth, make him a thoroughly modern original. The

youngest son of a close-knit, cosmopolitan family, Andrew was born in Singapore and had an enlightened education encompassing the classics of Western civilization and Asian cultures and languages. History and art were favorite subjects. Andrew was immersed in the world of antiques through his parents who were connoisseurs. Collecting antique furniture, porcelain and textiles soon became one of his serious pursuits.Like Andrew himself, his woman is unconventional, fun and approachable while being cultivated, aesthetically inspired and international.Find the Spring Summer 15 collection at the Women’s Designer department of Harvey Nichols Kuwait.

Jerry Hall & Georgia May JaggerEnglish fashion model Georgia May Jagger grew up in a Hollywood household. REAd iT? frAME iT

You probably have read tens or hundreds of good books that you love and appreciate. Among the books on your shelves, there must be a few that you are dear to your heart – those which you want to highlight to your guests, why not? Here is a good way frame a favorite book after you have read it – the good news is

that you can do it yourself!

4

Though the thumbtacks toward the front of the book probably will not attach to the wall, they will stop the book from swinging open too far, which will decrease the chance that the book will fall.

3

Hanging the books without any visible apparatus is the tricky part. Start by placing several tacks on the back cover. Then place a tack or two every 20 pages or so; this will depend on how thick your book is.

2

Tie the two ends of a piece of twine together so it forms a circle. Pull the circle flat and nail both ends to the frame. Make sure your piece of twine is not too long and that it’s pulled tight when nailed down so that it doesn’t show when hanging.

Contour makeup is back, big-time. Highlighting and shading can take years off your face and give you structure that’s not actually there. While the look may seem intimidating, keep it simple with a sculpting product or bronzer,

blush, and highlighter. Apply foundation, and then follow these steps.

fEEl BEAuTiFul

1. Find those cheekbones First, make a fish face and run a finger along the hollow of your cheek, then move up until you are directly below the bone. It helps to hold your finger parallel along the entire length of the bone to guide where you’ll contour.

2. Lay the foundation Grab a darker shade than your normal shade of cream foundation or pressed powder. Then, using the appropriate brush or pad, and starting at the hairline, lightly sweep color in toward the apple of the cheek, then blend using a sponge.

3. Go creamy Using a cream blush, apply in your desired shade to the apples of the cheeks to help define and brighten your complexion.

4. Brighten up For added pop and extra definition, use a highlight color directly above where the cheek cream was applied, running from the outer corner of the eye up to temple. 5. Assemble your kitStep 1: The goal is to emulate your skin’s natural tones so your results look “as real as possible,” says Kashuk. For the deepest “shading” color, you’ll need a sculpting product or a matte bronzer two shades darker than your skin (nothing orange-based or shimmery).Step 2: Use your favorite rosy blush, then choose a pearlized silver or gold highlighter. Keep the textures consistent throughout.

6. Blend, blend, blendStep 1: Dip an angled brush in your sculpting

shade, suck in your cheeks, and blend the product down the sunken line in an up-and-down motion. Stop an inch from your mouth.Step 2: Using a circular motion, diffuse the blush on just the apples of your cheeks.

Step 3: Highlight the uppermost point of your cheeks with Menard’s trick: Place a finger below your brow bone near the outer corner of your eye and move it down until you feel your cheekbone—that’s where you’ll apply highlighter. Soften it until all harsh lines have disappeared.

7. GOODBYE, JOWLSFor those over age 50, the focus should shift from your cheekbones (they hollow out naturally over time) to defining your jaw. Dust bronzer under your jaw line and blur the edges into your neck.

EMMANuEllE AlTEmmanuelle Alt was born in Paris in 1967, where she went to school at the Assomption-Lübeck Institute. At the age of 17, she took her first steps into the fashion industry as a beauty assistant for Elle. Two years later, in 1986, she joined 20 Ans magazine, where she became fashion editor-in-chief in 1993. Emmanuelle Alt then moved on to become fashion editor-in-chief of Mixte magazine in 1998. After two years at the head of Mixte, she left the magazine for a position at Vogue Paris as a fashion editor. In February 2011, as an experienced magazine editor,Emmanuelle Alt took over as editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, following the departure of Carine Roitfeld. Emmanuelle Alt lives in Paris with her husband, Franck Durand and her two children.

Emmanuelle Alt embodies parisienne chic thanks to her style signifiers, black jeans, beautifully cut blazers and crisp white shirts. She was appointed editor of Vogue Parisien 2011, promoted from

her role as fashion director. Alt’s time running the magazine has seen its creative output slightly change tack. “I think you can make very strong fashion pictures without shocking,” however the Frenchwoman stressed, “I don’t think there should be radical changes.” She took the helm from the previous editor, the well-known and provocative Carine Roitfeld.

The editor still aims to style one shoot a month, stating that: “I will try even more to support

young designers. I like to keep my curiosity up. The industry is always waiting, begging for a name. But it is rare to find a big ‘trésor’, so you must keep looking.”

Alt discovered fashion aged 19 at a Jean-Paul Gaultier show she attended with her mother, a model for Nina Ricci and Lanvin in the ‘60s and ‘70s, which is also Alt’s favourite period in fashion, and greatest inspiration. When asked if she would have liked to have followed in her mother’s

footsteps, Alt said, “That’s not me. I’m a big fan of photography, but it’s more fun to style. I enjoy working on the inspiration, and the everyday life of a magazine.”

Prior to her time at Vogue Paris, Alt held roles at French Elle, 20ans and Mixte. Outside of work, she is devoted mother to her children, with long-term partner Franck Durand, Isabel Marant’s art director, and is passionate about driving fast cars.

CONquEST ClASSiC MOONpHASElONgiNES CElEBRATES THE REFiNEd ElEgANCE OF EquESTRiAN SPORTS Reflecting at the same time the brand’s presence in the most prestigious equestrian events all over the world and the importance it attaches to its watchmaking tradition, Longines has launched a new chronograph adding to the Conquest Classic collection: the Conquest Classic Moonphase. The sophistication of this model, including a moon-phase display, makes it an eminently refined timepiece and echoes the excellence and elegance of the stars of the equestrian universe.

With its rich equestrian heritage dating back to 1878, Longines was keen to celebrate one of the essential dimensions of the equestrian sports: elegance. Building on the success of the Conquest Classic line, the Swiss watch

brand has come with a new chronograph with a moonphase display: the Conquest Classic Moonphase, subtly combining the brand’s watchmaking tradition, sports heritage and innate sense of sophistication. This model will appeal to those who are looking for a refined chronograph to be worn amidst the excitement of the most prestigious equestrian events all over the world.

The “Conquest” brand was patented through the WIPO on 25 May 1954. Since then this name has been used for many successful models produced by Longines across the years. The Conquest Classic collection has joined the brand’s other collections of classical beauty that have helped to make Longines’ reputation and success throughout the world. This line is dedicated to equestrian sports enthusiasts who are not willing to compromise on elegance.

With a diameter of 42 mm, this chronograph houses the self-winding mechanical chronograph movement L678. The case is available in steel, in steel and rose gold cap or in 18 carats rose gold. The black or silvered dial is set with 9 applied indices coated with Super-LumiNova® and makes an elegantly contrasting background to the moonphase display. It features the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, the 24-hour indicator and the subdial for the seconds at 9 o’clock, as well as the 30-minute counter and the day-and-month display at 12 o’clock. The date is indicated by a half-moon central hand. Water-resistant to 5 bar, these models display a transparent case back through which its scintillating movement can be observed. These chronographs are fitted on a black alligator strap or a steel or steel and rose gold cap bracelet, all having a triple folding safety clasp.

THE iT girl AND THE iT BrAND Skate park or red carpet? Sneakers or stilettos? Ravishing smile or funny face? Difficult choices to make, which is why TAG Heuer takes it all and chooses Cara Delevingne — the most disruptive It Girl of the moment — as its new feminine ambassador. She has a massive social media presence, is up for everything, and relishes freedom.

Born under the sign of Leo in London in 1992, Cara is the new ruling queen of the media jungle, the It Girl spokesperson for the online generation, and the top fashion model of our day. What is most refreshing about her is the way she navigates so cooly through these high-pressure worlds, with her indomitable take-me-as-I-am élan.

Before Cara, top models stared out from magazine covers and walked down catwalks. By just being herself, she doesn’t just give us another pretty picture, but a whole, extraordinary, irreverent and gloriously gorgeous package. She is a true path-breaker, who, like TAG Heuer, pushes past conventions and limits with creativity and passion, and never cracks under pressure. She perfectly embodies the core values of the Swiss brand.

TAG Heuer held Cara Delevingne’s “Welcome to the TAG Heuer Family” fête in the Salle Melpomène, the most beautiful room in the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris. After all, where other

than Paris, on the eve of Fashion Week, could such a celebration be held? The catwalk princess was positively radiant and at her cheeky best as she charmed the 150 journalists and VIPs in attendance.

The exhibition space, named after the Greek muse of tragedy, was magically transformed for the occasion into a theatre of antiquity, with the solemnity of a red carpet experience and the unexpected presence of wildness. Cara, unafraid of the muse’s spell, showed her impish tomboy side as she strode boldly down the aisle, gliding around … a lion. Yes, lion, like the one tattooed on her index finger, her emblem — with floating mane and graceful gait perfectly matching Cara’s. The audience was stunned into silence; no one had expected it, or seen anything like it.

Who would dare pull such a stunt? TAG Heuer, of course. And who would dare accept it? Cara Delevingne, who else?

Winter is gone – enough said. Belly fat is nothing to joke about, many men struggle with belly fat in a way that not interferes with their choice of outfits but also makes them look old and unhealthy. In fact, even skinny people can have unhealthy “hidden” belly fat. Research shows that fat may be folded deep inside the belly around the stomach organs. Here are few tips on how to get rid of belly fat the easy way!

Don’t skip breakfastBreakfast is the most important meal of the day, you need an energy boosting food or drink like black coffee or a warm cup of green tea, whole wheat bread, low fat yogurt and fruit, or a bowl of multigrain cereal with almonds and honey. Healthy fats like avocados, walnuts and olive oil can improve satiety. These foods will also increase your metabolism, thanks to the high doses of omega-3.

Consume calorie-less foodIn order to lose belly fat, you have to consume calorie-less food to reduce weight. Add boiled food to your diet and avoid foods that are sweet, rich in fats or fried.

Always rehydrateDrink plenty of water or other calorie-free beverage. If you are not a fan of plain water, try citrus juice with low amounts of sugar, brew-infused tears, and/or black coffee.

Eat fiber rich mealsConsuming foods that contain soluble fibers will shed the weight be reducing the bad cholesterol in your body. There is no doubt that your meals should contain fruits and vegetables. They contain a lot of fibers that suppress your appetite. In addition, they contain a lot of minerals and vitamins.

Sleep wellGo to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every day, making sure to sleep seven or eight hours. Have a power nap as needed to make up for the lost sleep you need.Boost your intake of healthy fats.

Walk off belly fatInstead of catching up with friends over foods and drinks, suggest a reunion on the move – you are likely to work out 104% harder if you have a workout buddy. Suggest a weekly walk-and-talk session, form a friendly fitness club, or take advantage of gym specials together. You will motivate everyone to get moving while you grow even closer.

Drink soda no moreSoda is not only unhealthy for you, it increases belly fat too! It has empty calories that add excess weight. Soda also provides large amounts of sugars. Your body has a hard time burning this sugar off, especially in the mid-section. High fructose corn syrup is known to make you obese. This obesity is more apparent in your abdomen.

Avoid white breadStudies have shown that people who eat big amounts of white bread and other highly refined food, gained the most belly fat, while those eating the typical “meat-and-potatoes- American diet gained the most overall weight, but it was more evenly distributed around their body than just settling around the midsection.

Drink green tea Besides reducing your risk of cancer and heart disease, green tea benefits the whole body and contains catechins, antioxidants that studies show can help reduce belly fat. If you sip green tea before a workout, these compounds can also increase your fat burn during aerobic exercise.

Eat proteinProtein has a higher impact than other foods. Your whole body burns enough energy handling proteins that it handles carbohydrates and fat. That’s why high protein diet plans work great at dropping your tummy fat.

Wake up and workout! As soon as you wake up in the morning, work out for at least 30 minutes to an hour. Studies show that working out in the morning can help you burn up to three times as more fat as opposed to working out at any other time during the day.

Even if you are eating right, getting enough sleep and a bit of exercise, the likelihood of dealing with tired skin is always high. Nothing is more frustrating than having a big event like a wedding or job interview and having to deal with bad skin. According to dermatologists, shifting hormones, too, can make it sensitive, so too many products at once can irritate the skin. If you are pressed for time and are looking for options to get glowing skin in 7 days, read on!

1. Your daily routineAll those extra-credit skin treatments won’t do much unless you have your prerequisites in place. Here’s a cheat sheet for the daily basics.Cleanser: For most of us, a splash of water is enough in the morning. In the evening, use a gentle wash.Morning protection: Slick on a moisturizer containing sunscreen and hydrating ceramides or hyaluronic acid, along with antioxidants like green tea.Bedtime moisturizer: Applying a formula laced with antioxidants, peptides, or retinol will battle the signs of aging.

2. Scrub your bodyFind the right scrub: You have stubborn, thickened areas, choose a salt or sugar scrub with

essential oils to soften skin.Soak it up: Exfoliating is most effective and least aggressive on wet skin, so get scrubbing at the end of your shower.Go gently if you have red, scaly, or chapped skin, skip the exfoliator. Restore the protective lipid barrier with a thick, fragrance-free cream.Get hydrated after exfoliating and patting dry, replenish moisture with a lotion containing both humectants, which draw water into the skin.TIP: While you scrub, pay special attention to elbows, knees, and upper arms. Then, using small, circular motions, rub along your decolletage, bikini area, and, yes, underarms—the scrub helps release ingrown hairs before you shave.Treat your eyes: Pump up collagen Retinol, a derivative of vitamin A, is well known for upping collagen production and cell turnover. But because it’s so intense, choose a cream made specifically for the eye area.Send bags packing – if puffiness is your concern, a swipe of a lotion infused with caffeine, will help shrink bags by constricting blood vessels. TIP: Let your eye cream absorb for at least 30 minutes before bed. A major cause of morning puffiness is applying eye products just before sleep, when they can travel under the lids and cause irritation.

HEAlTH

fiVE DAyS TO BETTER SkiN!

3. Do masks Hydrate: Moisturizing masks are essential for dry skin and perimenopausal changes, use rich seed oils and other lipids so that skin not only functions better, it also looks smoother and plumper.Defeat oil: You can use clay masks in order draw oil and dirt from the skin.Lift and firm: Look for a formula containing fruit and seaweed extracts along with moisturizers.Reduce inflammation: The good kind of bacteria found in yogurt may help decrease inflammation. TIP: Take a look at the packaging of makeup and you’ll often see a code like 6M or 12M. That indicates how long the opened product will stay fresh.

4. Clean up your cosmeticsTackle your tools: If your makeup brushes are stiff, matted, and caked, they can cause tiny breaks and tears around your pores. Each week, clean them using brush cleaners or wash them with baby shampoo.Make a clean sweep: While you are sipping your morning beverage, line up any makeup tubes and bottles that you haven’t replaced within the past three months. Good-quality formulas actually last much longer than that, if you are not contaminating them with unwashed hands. Ditch the mascara as soon as you can no longer hear a wet whoosh when you pull the brush out of the tube.

5. Eat wellShop and prepare: Use our list as inspiration, but think portable, healthy snacks, and make single-serving packs of fruits, veggies, nuts, and other healthy finger foods. Cook now, eat later: Aim for a recipe that combines antioxidant-rich vegetables with protein, like a quinoa-black bean chili or an escarole chicken soup—then get ready to glow!

Tuscany is a region in central Italy with an area of about 23,000 square kilometres (8,900 sq mi) and a population of about 3.8 million inhabitants. The regional capital is Florence (Firenze). Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Renaissance and has been home to many influential figures in the history of art and science, and contains well-known museums such as the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace. Roughly triangular in shape, Tuscany borders the regions of Liguria to the northwest, Emilia-Romagna to the north and east, Umbria to the east and Lazio to the southeast. The comune (municipality) of Badia Tedalda, in the Tuscan Province of Arezzo, has an exclave named Ca› Raffaello within Emilia-Romagna.Tuscany has a western coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea, containing the Tuscan Archipelago, of which the largest island is Elba. Tuscany has an area of approximately 22,993 square kilometres (8,878 sq mi). Surrounded and crossed by major

mountain chains, and with few (but fertile) plains, the region has a relief that is dominated by hilly country used for agriculture. Hills make up nearly two-thirds (66.5%) of the region’s total area, covering 15,292 square kilometres (5,904 sq mi), and mountains (of which the highest are the Apennines), a further 25% (—5,770 square kilometres (2,230 sq mi). Plains occupy 8.4% of the total area 1,930 square kilometres (750 sq mi),—, mostly around the valley of the River Arno. Many of Tuscany’s largest cities lie on the banks of the Arno, including the capital Florence, Empoli and Pisa. The climate is fairly mild in the coastal areas, and is harsher and rainy in the interior, with considerable fluctuations in temperature between winter and summer, giving the region a soil-building active freeze-thaw cycle in part accounting for the region’s once having served as a key breadbasket of ancient Rome. The Etruscans indulged their fondness for a classy send-off with exquisite funerary objects that are still being excavated to this day, and the Romans,

always partial to puffing up their own importance, left their usual legacy of monumental sculptures. But it was during the medieval and Renaissance periods that Tuscany really hit its artistic stride, with painters, sculptors and architects creating the masterpieces that now entice visitors into churches, museums and galleries across the region. Where to go?Anghiari (Arezzo)From the western approaches to Anghiari, there is a point in the road where many first time visitors are awestruck as the entire town suddenly pops into view as the car rounds a hairpin bend. Anghiari stands out in the wonderful landscape of Valtiberina which hasn’t been invaded by mass tourism.

Here are some of the best spots and tips on what to see and importantly what to eat in Tuscany! We love the fact that in Italy, diet and cuisine is based not only on fresh organic produce but the seasons. Seasonal produce in Tuscany at the moment includes persimmons, chestnuts, walnuts, pumpkin, porcini mushrooms, truffles, artichokes and leeks. Things like rabbit and cinghiale (wild boar) are also popular in the region and are available all year round. It’s also the season for olive harvesting.

Florence is the capital and largest city in Tuscany. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy and the home of the Renaissance. It’s possible to visit on a day trip but also consider taking a longer trip. Florence is a must visit with its amazing art history, monuments and attractions like the Duomo, Uffizzi Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio and the famous Statue of David. It’s great for buying leather with many markets and boutiques to choose from, especially near Piazza Santa Croce. If you need to take a break from taking in all the culture Florence has to offer, sit down for a meal and order the compulsory Bistecca alla Fiorentina – a T-bone steak made from the white Tuscan Chianina cattle and renowned for its tenderness and flavor. You might want to consider sharing this dish though, since it is a thick cut and traditionally served rare. Check out the Tuscany restaurant, Trattoria Bordino, for a steak we know you won’t forget! For something sweet, the famous Biscotto Fiorentino (the Florentine biscuit) is a must-have

while in Florence! Made from nuts, candied cherries and formed in a caramel disc, these delicious biscuits have a dark chocolate base. They are easy to find in the city but for an extra special version and other amazing chocolate creations visit the historic restaurant and cafe, Café Gilli, located in Piazza della Repubblica. They have been serving up treats since 1773!Cortona is the Tuscan hill town made famous in the book and subsequent movie Under the Tuscan Sun by Francis Mayes. Surrounded by Etruscan walls around 3000 years old, it retains much of its history through its architecture. In line with the regional local specialties, you should try the steak in Cortona and mushrooms, including porcini are not to be missed. Rabbit cooked in a variety of ways as well as cinghiale are also common on the menu here. You should also try Crostini Neri Toscani alla Cortonese crusty bread served with a spread made of pork sausage, chicken liver and capers. So after exploring the city walls, sit down for a Cortonese feast at La Locanda nel Loggiato, set in

If you are in town on a Saturday, our tip is to head to the fresh food market in Piazza Reppublica for some delicious local food and wine supplies and head out of town for a picnic – you are spoilt for choice here when it comes to views of the spectacular countryside. The charming town of Lucca is famous for its Renaissance-era city walls that have remained intact while many other towns in Tuscany saw theirs destroyed in the past. The must-see sights in this stunning medieval town include the Duomo di San Martino and the Roman ampitheathre. But you would be forgiven for coming to Lucca just to sample the local fare. Staples here include a soup of faro (a grain not dissimilar to barley) with beans, rabbit cooked in many forms from baked to braised to fried and baccala’ (salt cod). But the classic Lucchese dish is Tortelli Lucchese – homemade egg pasta stuffed with seasonal meat and served with a rich tomato and beef ragu.

A YuMMY iNdulgENCEriDlEy’S BurgErSearching for a place where burgers are not only made with quality ingredients, but also with so much attention to the details, we stumbled upon Ridley’s Burger. Ridley’s Burger is a local restaurant inspired by Ridley’s Market in London, portraying a vintage interior from the 1940’s – 1950’s, from 200 year old bricks brought in from London to the cozy feeling of the surrounding.

The concept follows the “London Look”, where the right ingredients were utilized in perfect harmony in order to create a friendly and cozy in-terior, without closing the eyes to the details and the story behind almost every decorative piece; be it the bricks, the chairs, wooden panels, the lighting fixtures or even the bill boxes. The story behind chairs was very interesting to hear; each vintage chair has previously been part of a place in London – a court, a wedding ceremony and even Oxford University. The names of food items on the menu are inspired by the inventors and intel-lectuals of that time, between 1920’s and 1980’s.

We got started with the delicious Regent’s Salad, the plate consisted of green wild rocket leaves with ribbons of pumpkin, covered in maple vinai-grette and topped with feta cheese crumbles and toasted pine nuts.

For the starters, we went for John’s fries; the golden potato fries were topped with cheddar cheese, bacon cuts, jalapeno, crispy onions, melted Tillamook cheese and Ridley’s sauce.

The Alex’s shrimps at Ridley’s are very special in a way that combines the hot buffalo sauce and the sweetness of honey together.

Next, we tried Ridley’s burgers, starting with Rid-ley’s classic juicy burger with home-made ketchup, lettuce, onions and pickles sitting between two fluffy fresh buns. Mr. Walter burger consisted of

Page 105: Issue 71 - March 2015

beef patty, aged Swiss cheese, crunchy Portobello mushroom and mixed sautéed mushroom creamy sauce. The burgers are very neatly assembled and light – fresh buns, fresh vegetables and very high-quality beef.

For dessert, we tasted The Confession – a mouth-watering combination of Caramel brioche pudding topped with vanilla ice-cream, candied bacon, toasted nuts and drizzled with salted caramel.

Ridley’s burger was a whole experience of fine taste, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff – we strongly recommend Ridley’s. The restaurant is located in the mezzanine floor of Salhiya Complex in Kuwait City.

The problem gets deeper the more you look at it. Anyone seeking a job or even romance will probably run head-on into a wall of formalities. Politeness and persistence will get you what you want. If it doesn’t happen today, maybe you will be pleasantly surprised first thing tomorrow.

In your situation, words are more valuable than actions right now. Through presentation, plea or outright heckling, you get the attention of an authority figure. Some would fear punishment for such an outburst, but you are banking on the chance that special notice equals special treatment. It’s time to start cashing in some of those cleverly won advantages for your long-term gain.

Should you serve yourself or should you be of service to someone else? Understand that these things aren’t mutually exclusive. When you help a needy or desiring friend, it’s a lot more fun than you can imagine. Your creative solution will make everyone’s day better and that’s a real reason to be proud.

Ownership is an illusion. Titles and deeds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want something badly enough, you can get it by making a pest of yourself. Recognize this trick when it’s used on you. While your opponent may prove more annoying than dangerous, he or she still has you on the defensive.

A picture paints a thousand words and actions speak louder than those words, too. These old sayings could become your mantra as you recognize the time for talking is long past . If there aren’t any appropriate organizations to join, you will probably found one yourself. Your strong character and practiced leadership skills put you at the forefront.

aries(mar. 21-april 20)

You are overbooked, but you tell yourself it is okay. A full schedule makes you feel important. It also keeps your mind off other things. Find a quiet moment in your self-induced chaos to sit down and address this fear. It probably has roots in something that happened long ago. All the worst-case scenarios actually seem ridiculous when you play them out step by step.

Shrink the scale of your ambitions. Break each task down into many small, doable steps. As long as you know and love what’s important, you will go far. If you didn’t enjoy people so much, you could probably do everything by yourself, but building a team is the final piece that makes your current project so interesting and successful.

You are minding your own business when the storm of words breaks over you. Incoming waves of gossip and chitchat stir up your quiet, simple environment in a rising tide of noise pollution. Walking away from the problem is useless. Get a grip as unsupported rumors swirl around you. This stuff is amusing, but it shouldn’t be confused with actual facts.

For you, the goal is everything. The best method is whatever works. Thanks to the stars, your desired results are falling neatly into place. You seem to have grown in so many ways. Ideas are tangible and easy to shape once you hold them in your hands. If you need to persuade people, they will bend to your wishes without complaint.

Gemini(May 22-June 21)

taurus(Apr. 21-May 21)

Pick up your feet when you walk, just in case it’s all true about stepping on sidewalk cracks. Buyers and sellers are able to make informed decisions and maybe even close the deal. But wait: If you negotiate today, arrange things so that you don’t have to take possession soon. The ground could still shift beneath your feet as you carry something fragile. Reality is strangely mutable when you are not firmly anchored.

You would like to think of yourself as the answer person, but you will settle for being the resident idea generator. Brilliant thoughts flow through you as naturally as breathing. If friends and associates are wise, they will harness your brainpower to drive engines of commerce or education. You deserve a lot more than you are currently getting.

You will not accept any verbal offer until it is followed up with hard copy and until you have had a chance to fully absorb it. Risk-takers find themselves without followers. You have learnt a few critical lessons from the animal kingdom. The one that applies this time is that predators gain the advantage when you let them smell your fear.
