ISSUE : 4 VOLUME : 3 Inter School events play a role in motivating students to perform, excel and offer a lot more reward then just winning a prize . Competitions offers a chance to participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Competitions also encourage students to adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills Season four of Renaissance Expressing Innovation was held at Vivekanand Public School B Block Anand Vihar on 22nd and 23rd October 2018. The two day annual fiesta was conducted with high fervour with the active participation of staff and students alike. This fest saw the amalgamation of Delhi NCR Schools where students showcased their inherent qualities and talent in the field of art and craft, IT sector , Politics etc. It is the sincere endeavor of each participating School to put their best foot forward. This year also the events started with the lighting of the lamp. More than thirty five school of Delhi NCR participated in over forty events under various categories. The school Management Members Sh.K. L. Bhatia, Mr. Sunil Khanna and the school Principal Ms. Ashima Jhamb applauded and appreciated the sincere efforts of the staff and students for making the program a huge success.

The members of Interact Club of Vivekanand Public School visited Oldage home called ‘Shashiraj Foundation’ in Shreshtha Vihar. It was an emotional journey of the students as well as teachers because what they saw there was unbelievable and unbearable for all of them. Many of them were left there by their own kids who not even bothered to meet them once. Our students had a healthy talk with them, distributed gifts and food items. Few of them sang songs and shared their memories with the students. they all wished them Happy Diwali and

returned back with a hope that someday they may also get true happiness by being with their family which is difficult but not impossible.

Sports Day…

The much awaited Annual Sports Day “Sphoorti” was held on 30th Nov and Ist December 2018 in

the school ground with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The students entered

into the spirit of the occasion in the grand way with the oath taking ceremony .The beautiful and

mesmerizing drills by the Vivekians stole the show that day leading the spectators glued to their

seats.

This gala sports meet was graced with the benign presence of Sh. Om Prakash Sharma, MLA as

Chief guest, Management members Sh. K.L Bhatia ,Mr. Sunil Khanna and School Principal Ms.

Ashima Jhamb.

Once the races began ,the air was filled with loud applauses which encouraged for the young

athletes. Several sports events such as long Jump, High Jump, Sprint and Relay races were also

there in the sports day .A spectacular impressive and well synchronised March past enhanced the

sporty spirit among participants .Bhagat Singh House was adjudged the best house in

ornamentation and Sardar Patel house was awarded for the disciplined house. Overall House

trophy was bagged by Subhash Chandra Bose .

The E-Com club today presented a Nukkad Natak on consumer awareness

enacted by the students of class XI under the guidance and leadership of

commerce faculty.

The street play presented the consumer protection Act formed in 1986 and

important rights like ‘Right to Information ‘ and ‘Right to Safety’. The students

beautifully portrayed the

Role of shopkeepers who cheat their consumers due to their ignorance and lack

of awareness about consumer Rights.

Our Repected Principal Mam, Headmistress Mam and Incharges graced this

event by their esteemed presence and appreciated the event by blessing the

students and praising their sincere efforts she motivated them to come up with

such ideas in future also.

It was indeed an opportunity for the students to take their talent and knowledge

to any elevated platform by performing in such kind of innovative ways of

learning for life long.

With the aim to promote Indian Classical Music and the priceless drawing by our young artists

the students of Jhankaar Group and Artistry club organised a combined activity where the

students of class VI to XI presented drawing on rhythmic notes of the song Kajari, the Folk

Song of Bihar. It was a mesmerizing and enlightening experience for the audience who

watched this unique combination with keen interest. Another spectacular performance was a

classical composition Raag Kafi by Sanyam Panchal of class IX on harmonium dependent on

western beat on Congo by Paras Soni of class VI.

The performance showed how a traditional music and western music can be moulded to

create contemporary music. The solo singing performance by Mink Rawat of class 11th added

the feather to the program. The audience was spellbound by her melodious voice and the

guitar was played by Vishul Meher of class VIII. The program was appreciated and enjoyed by

all present there.

(A Winter Carnival) The annual winter carnival Vibrations 2018 on the theme –Reviving moral values and ethics was organised in the school on 16 December 2018. It is a most eagerly awaited occasions of the school. As soon as the fete was declared open by the management members excitement was uncontrollable

The felicitation of the academically bright students of class X and XII in the year 2017-18 was done by the distinguished guests who blessed them with a letter of appreciation and trophy followed by the launch of annual saga of school called “Parivartan”.The day long foot tapping performances by the students of each wing to made the audiences hold their breath and dive into the ocean of cultural diversity the mouth watereing eatables stalls was not the less stars of attraction

Children swarmed all over the stalls to try their luck. Each stall had loads of gifts and double

the money options . There were lucky dip, game of luck, lucky colour, hoopla, wheel of

chocolate and many other stalls. A variety of cultural programs and competitions for parents

were organized. Delicious food like pizza, burger and starters formed an important place in

the food arena. At the end the fete was successfully culminated with the announcment of

lucky draw and vote of thanks by Principal Mam. Over all it was a fun filled day, turned out to

be a huge success .
