evaluators. We had three evaluators visit f rom Edmonton, Toronto and Texas. They were here for the day and toured all our MYP classes. They were amazed at the work and skill level of our grade 6 and 7 students. Our parent, students and teachers expressed their valuable views about the program and the evaluators will now present their findings to the IB. We will soon get our report from them.

Vancouver Film Festival

Div 2 and Div 4 enjoyed an assortment of short films in fore ign l angua ges subtitled in English. This was part of their creative writing and open-minded learner profile activity. After watching the films, students had fun creating their own movies using S t o p m o t i o n a n i m a t i o n capturing physical objects that are moved between frames. We are excited to watch the animation films by our budding filmmakers!

Tribal Dance Presentation

Tribal Vision Dance is a First Nations dance group based on the Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve in Ontario. Dance is a way to celebrate life and give thanks for all things. Tribal Vision shared their culture through songs and dances and message of unity in the hoop dance. A multimedia presentation that showcased the dances and songs was a great opportunity to see our

IB Learner Profile

The a im of a l l IB programmes is to develop internat iona l l y minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. The 10 learner profile attributes are Inquirers, K n o w l e d g e a b l e , T h i n k e r s , C o m m u n i c a t o r s , Pr i n c i p l e d , O p e n-Minded, Caring, Risk- takers, Balanced, and Reflective.

The Lear ner Prof il e Attribute for the month of March was open-minded. Open -Minded l ea r ners critically appreciate their own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others. They always seek and evaluate a range of points of view and are willing to grow from the experience

learner profile attributes, open-minded and balanced come alive. The dances and their evolution from their origins to the current form is discussed as well as students were invited to dance and sing along.

Climate Change Workshop

This month we have organizers from Society P r o m o t i n g E n v i r o n m e n t a l Conservation (SPEC), a non-profit charitable organ izat ion that a d d r e s s e s environmental issues in British Columbia.SPEC offered Climate Change and Renewable Energy Workshop to al l our MYP students. Workshops are interactive and hands-on. Please take this opportunity to find out more about global climate change from your children.

Gauss Math Contest

King George Secondary has invited a l l our g rade 7 (or s t rong 6 ) students to come to King George to write the Gauss Math contest on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Test Format:• 25 multiple-choice questions• 60 minutes• 150 total marks• most calculators permittedStudents will be escorted to the KG library at 10:00 am on May 17. They will need pencils, erasers, and calculators for the test.
