Incarceration Reentry The only time you would use the participation group – Reentry from
Incarceration, on a service entered in the Service and Training Plan,
would be if the participant met these conditions and the information
is documented in the Demographics and Demographics Snapshot
under the Needs and Barriers section.
If the jobseeker does not have a release date then use the date of
adjudication.
If the jobseeker is still in the correctional facility select the following
without adding a release date.

Participant Tips for
WEBINARS
Webinars are used
frequently for assistance
or discussions. Here are
some tips for effective
participation; they are
also useful for
conference calls.
Before it begins:
Review any material
that was sent.
Write down your
questions or
comments on the
topic. Collect any
documents or notes
you may need.
If the webinar
invitation offers a
systems check for first
-time users, run this.
Log in early; this
allows time for any
last minute
troubleshooting.
DID YOU KNOW? Password Resets Are Changing!
Should you, a participant or anyone that uses AJC, forget their
password, it should be reset by email.
If there is no email associated with a jobseeker account, please
ask if they have one they would like to share, just for these
purposes.
Resetting the password by email is now the preferred method
over using the security question. Soon, the email password reset
will be the only option available and the question will no longer be
used to reset a password. Should a jobseeker not have an email
account, they can still call the helpdesk and their staff will be able
to reset it for them. Contact the helpdesk at 602-542-2460.
Currently, if you use the secret question and answer method, you
are limited to five attempts to reset it. On the fifth time, if it fails, it
will lock you out of using the security question reset method until
midnight of that day.
Going forward, if you try that method and after three times you are
unable to reset it, please contact the helpdesk for assistance
before you are locked out.
Jobseekers are locked out until Midnight and Staff, 15 minutes
after three attempts.
If you become locked out of that
method, this DOES NOT lock you
completely out of your AJC account.
If locked out of that method, enter a
random text as a username to then
access the password reset link. If an
email address is associated with the
account, you would then be able to
use the password reset by email.
Enter your username, click Continue and a link to reset your
password will be emailed to the email address we have on file.
For further assistance, please contact the helpdesk.

EMPLOYER
During the webinar:
Never put your phone
on hold as all others
may hear music or
announcements. This
can make
communication
impossible.
Try to put your phone
on mute. Any
background noise in
your office can be
heard by others. Even
paper shuffling and
other phones ringing
in the background can
be very loud. Unmute
your phone when you
want to speak.
Be an active
participant: ask
questions, respond to
questions or polls. Let
the presenter know if
you cannot hear or
see the information
on the screen.
Ownership
Participant Tips for
WEBINARS
Did You Know?
If you need to have an Employment Service office reassigned,
please call 602-542-2460 or e-mail [email protected] with
your current and new information to help us expedite the process.
In July, selections for Employer Ownership changed.
The selection of ‘Individual’ was removed. The original intent of
this designation was for domestic service or "spot" jobs. The sole
purpose of these 'in and out' job posts was to record a placement.
Job Postings that were designated with ‘Individual’ ownership
were not displayed in the job search results, including staff
search results. Some staff choose this option not realizing the
intent and this created confusion.
If you have a job posting that is not displaying when conducting a
job search, the reason could be that the Employer account
information may be showing that the “Ownership” field is listed as
‘Individual’ instead of ‘Private Sector’.
To check the Ownership status, conduct a user search for your
Employer. Select the Employer’s name to be taken to the
Employer Details page and from there, click on Employer
Account Information.
At Edit Employer Account Information, scroll down and check the
Ownership field.
If the Ownership field displays ‘Individual’, please change it to
Private Sector. Next, access any ACTIVE job postings for that
Employer. At the job posting, click Edit on one of the sections and
make a quick change to it. For example, delete that last word of
the job description, type it back in and then Save.
This will then allow you, other staff, and job seekers, to search for
this job by job order number, keyword, etc.
If the employer is not
government based, then the
selection should always be
Private Sector.

During the webinar:
(Continued)
When you start to
speak, state your
name every time. If
it’s a larger group, it is
not possible to
recognize and
remember voices.
Be respectful of
others. Stay on topic.
Don’t interrupt. Ask
one question at a
time.
Stay on until the end.
At times, you may
need to leave a call
early, but there is
usually a loud beep
when someone hangs
up. If ten people
disconnect while the
presenter is still
speaking, the others
cannot hear what is
being said.

I was very pleased with Don
Motz with AZ@Work MC -
East Valley Career Center.
He brought in a sign lan-
guage interpreter; some
places do not even provide
that. Communication is im-
portant. They worked hard
at providing an interpreter
for me. They communicated
via e-mail, too, which was
very helpful and did a great
job overall.
I was very shocked. I didn't
know what to expect. It was
awesome. Vicki Thomas
from Pima County Kino One
Stop Center is AMAZING!
She tells you from the jump
what's expected, like if it's
hard, but keeps encouraging.
Greg Doyle from Kino Em-
ployment Service was abso-
lutely fantastic. He gave me
the facts about what to ex-
pect and what not to expect.
I followed his counsel and I
got a job! I love my job!

KUDOS Improvement
Despite several great reviews, these issues have been reported:
FROM OUR EXITERS
I'm a retired military veteran; I think that some of the
people I'm dealing with in the employment offices don't
really care about our well-being. If you can't help me,
just say so. After you've got me hyped up and motivated,
then you let me down and just blow me off. I run into
people who just hold a job title, and they're really not
trained how to deal with veterans. I take PTSD very
seriously. I took SOAR training and want to do peer
support. When I told the gentleman that the woman he
was looking for didn't come up to talk to me, she got
perturbed. She might have another vet with worse PTSD
than me - how's she going to treat them?
AJC should be made more available for people with
advertisements, education services, targeting veterans
for education. I am a veteran and only found out about
your services through word-of-mouth.
The inside of the centers are very dreary and mundane
and not very welcoming.
FROM OUR EMPLOYERS
I went in and submitted the job order at a local office and
didn't hear back anything for four days. I called them
back and asked if anyone posted. Someone had gone on
vacation who was supposed to post. They said they
thought there were some hits. Meanwhile, we hired
someone from somewhere else.
The only thing that would help me in the future, is if I had
an updated list of contacts at Business Engagement.
The last person I tried to contact was no longer working
there, so now I have no one.
A business rep told me to just go online and do it myself.
Business representative from the employer engagement
administration posted my personal cell # on FaceBook
without my permission and that seems unethical.
Opportunities
I left AZ@Work because I
was getting nothing. I went
to Goodwill. I moved to Mar-
icopa and received a call and
e-mail from Gretchen
Holmes at AZ@Work West
Valley Career Center to let
me know she had looked
over my case and saw that
they dropped the ball. She
said she could send my rec-
ords to Casa Grande and has
kept in touch with me this
whole time. She sends me
notice of job fairs, and has
shown me true concern.
I am very pleased. My case
worker, Grace Wehrle, with
Arizona@Work - ResCare -
Yuma, is very knowledgeable
in my area of needs. She
knows a lot about the train-
ing I am interested in and I
feel very comfortable speak-
ing with her about my future
growth in the healthcare
field.
Shelly Jarrett with AZ@Work
West Valley Career Center is
an excellent instructor.
