Wabaunsee wrestling brought home three medals from the state tournament in Hays last week-end.

Senior Storm Johnson capped off his career with a sixth place finish to go along with teammate Kolby Droegemeier who also fin-ished sixth. Riley Tubbs fell in the championship match but still brings home a second place fin-ish in his freshman year for the Chargers.

Johnson lost in the semi-finals, falling to the fifth place match instead of moving to the championship round. “I was doing pretty well up until that point (semi-finals) but then lost after I stepped out of bounds on a takedown. Then I came back and didn’t do as well on Satur-day,” Johnson said. “This is the first time I’ve placed at state and it’s nice to finally place in my last year.”
