Seeking protection from evil of humans B Y : M A J D A R B I L S O U R C E : I S L A M I C I T Y

Muslims recite chapter 113 of the Quran (Sura Al Falaq) as a supplication for protection against evil. Evil is described as devoid of any norms of morality or complete absence of good. In certain religious contexts, evil is described as a supernatural force. In the following verses God is asking humankind to seek His protection from the evil perpetuated by humans themselves. In the name of God, Most Gracious and Most Merciful

Say, ‘I seek refuge with the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, And from the evil of the dark night when it penetrates, And from the evil of the blowers (men or women) into knots, And from the evil of an envious one when he envies. (Quran 113:1-5)

1. Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of the rising dawn (al-falaq)”

The Prophet Muhammad (s) and all of mankind are instructed in this first verse to seek refuge with the Lord of rising dawn.

The term al-falaq ("the light of dawn" or "the rising dawn") is often used to describe "the emergence of the truth after a period of uncertainty. "Lord of the rising dawn" implies that God is the source of all cognition of truth, and that one's "seeking refuge" with Him is synonymous with striving after truth.

2. From the evil (sharr) of what He has created

In this verse we are asking for protection “From the evil of WHAT He has created.” This is because nothing that God has created is evil. God has not created any creature for the sake of evil, but all His work is for the sake of good and a special purpose. However, from the qualities that He has created in the creatures to fulfill the purpose of their creation, sometimes evil appears from some kinds of creatures.

Even the Satan had good in him when he was created. Only when he disobeyed God that he turned to evil.

The word sharr (evil) is used for loss, injury, trouble and affliction as well as for the means which cause death, injuries and afflictions from hunger, disease, accidents, war, violence, etc.

Seeking refuge from evil contains two other meanings also. First, that man is praying to his God to protect him from the evil that has already taken place; second, that man is praying to his God to protect him from the evil that has not yet taken place.

3. And from the evil of the dark night when it penetrates

After seeking God's refuge from the evil of the creatures, now prayer is being made for seeking refuge from the evil of the darkness of night. This is when certain types of crime and violence are more active and some harmful animals also become active.

4. And from the evil of the blowers (men or women) into knots

In this verse we are asking God’s protection from those who are engaged in the practice of black magic or general evil.

In pre-Islamic Arabia various occult groups used to practice black magic by tying a string into a number of knots while blowing incantations on them.

In his explanation of the above verse, the Muslim scholar, Abu al-Qasim Mahmud ibn Umar al-Zamakhshari, categorically rejects all belief in the reality and effectiveness of such practices, as well as of the concept of "magic" as such. He explains that the reason why the believer is enjoined to "seek refuge with God" from such practices despite their palpable irrationality is to be found in the inherent sinfulness of such actions, and in the mental danger in which they may involve their author.

5. And from the evil of the envious when he envies

The final evil that we should seek refuge from is the evil of envious humans. You may not think that human envy can harm you, but it certainly can and does.

For one thing, the first evidence of jealousy and envy came from Satan towards Prophet Adam (s).

And the second instance of envy came from Prophet Adam’s own sons, Abil and Qabil.

God accepted Abil’s devotion but not Qabil’s. Qabil became envious and killed his brother. (Ref Quran 5:27)

CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

The word 'charity' means generosity in giving something to the needy out of loving kindness towards them; and a charitable organization is an institution with funds to help the needy.

There is a proverb: 'Charity begins at home.' A person, who is kind at heart and possesses compassion from his early days towards the weak and the needy in the society, is generally found to help and make gifts to the poor. He finds joy and satisfaction in giving alms to a beggar, or renders some financial relief to the needy persons who are near at hand.

Thus charity begins at home. In other words, it begins in the near neighbourhoods of a person. One first comes forward to help his neighbours, relatives and friends in the very beginning. Afterwards, he extends his, same helping hand to the distant places, where thousands of the needy and the weak people await his help and sympathy.

HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY Honesty is the best policy is a famous saying said by the Benjamin Franklin. Honesty is considered as the

best tool of success in the life and a famous person said it as a backbone of the successful relationship which

has capability to form a well developed society. Without being honest in the life, it becomes very tough to

make real and trustworthy friendship or love bond with anyone. People who are generally used of telling

truth can be able to build better relationships and thus better world. Some people who do not have dare of

telling truth to their dear ones, generally tell lie and face bad situations of being dishonest.

On the other hand, saying truth helps in strengthening our character and makes us strong. So, being honest

(especially with family, friends and other loved ones) helps us a lot in many ways all through the life.

Honesty is the most effective tool of protecting the relationships.

Telling lies just to save the situation can make the condition more worse. Saying truth always helps us to

strengthen the character as well as bring confidence within us. There are many bad and good situations in

the life and I think almost all of us have been felt that telling truth to our dear ones gives us relief and

happiness. So, according to this saying, being honest is really being a good human being in the life.

The main causes of liver damage are: 1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late 2. Not urinating in the morning. 3. Too much eating. 4. Skipping breakfast. 5. Consuming too much medication. 6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener. 7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. Try to reduce the use of cooking oil when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils l ike olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit 8. Consuming raw (overly done) Foods also add to the burden of l iver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store. We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get r id of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule." Because Here comes the reason

Evening at 9 - 11 PM: It is the time for eliminating unnecessary/ toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is stil l in an un relaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.

Evening at 11pm - 1 am: It is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state. Early morning 1 - 3 am: The detoxification process in the gall is ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5 am: It is the time of detoxification in the lungs. Therefore, there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am: The time of detoxification in the colon, so you should empty your bowel.

Memory Test Three elderly men, Eddie, Jenkin and Martin men go to the doctor's for their memory test. It's a miracle they remembered the appointment! Anyway, the doctor begins by asking Eddie, "What is five times five?" "191," is his reply. The doctor rolls his eyes and looks up at the ceiling, and says to Jenkin, "It's your turn. What is five times five?" "Wednesday," replies Jenkin man. The doctor shakes his head sadly, then asks the third man, "Okay Martin it's your turn. What's five times five?" "Twenty five," says Martin. "That's great!" says the doctor. "How did you get your answer?" "Easy," says Martin, "just subtract 191 from Wednesday."

This Is Allegedly a True Story The name of a two-year-old boy was listed on the country's list of wanted suspects. He was briefly banned from getting on a plane bound for Turkey. The details on the toddler's passport had been the same as those in an arrest warrant, even the date of birth.

'While going through the passport checking procedures to get on board, one of the officers on duty said they wanted to take Suhail,' Emirates Today quoted the boy's father, Abdullah Mohamed Saleh, as saying. ' I thought he was kidding me and said 'Take him if you want' . He showed me a print-out of a document that said Suhail was wanted and there was an arrest warrant for him.'

Officials said they would investigate the cause of the mix-up.

having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30 am, for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is sti ll better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all. Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late

-X-X-X-X- BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS 1. No Breakfast People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration. 2. Overeating It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power. 3. Smoking It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease. 4. High Sugar consumption Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development. 5. Air Pollution The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency. 6. Sleep Deprivation Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells. 7. Head covered while sleeping Sleeping with the head covered will increase the concentration of CO2 (carbon dioxide) and decrease the concentration of O2 Oxygen) that may lead to the brain damaging effects. 8. Working your brain during illness Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain. 9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage. 10. Talking Rarely Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.

Memons (Gujarati: મેમણ; Sindhi: ميمڻ; Urdu: ميمن; Hindi: मेमन) are an ethnic group who trace their

roots largely to Sindh, Kutch and Kathiawar in South Asia, and are sometimes seen as transitional between

the two regions.[2] Memons predominantly adhere to Sunni Islam . Historically Memons are a mercantile

community (and are generally referred to as a business community in Pakistan and India). Most of them are

merchants and traders, industrialists, professionals and generally hold white collar jobs.

Role of the Jamaat

Memons generally tie to their respective locally societies called "Jamat", literally means congregation, which

are generally established for the betterment and social welfare of its members which may include issuance of

marriage license, matrimonial dispute resolution, adaptation and enforcement of the rules and guidelines

against certain undesirable customs, establish healthcare and education centres, provide various facilities for

the community need and also financial support and housing for the poor and needy members and sometime

non-members.

The following are some common well organized societies or welfare associations called Jamaat (Gujarāti

script: જમાત) of the Memons community which generally refer to their ancestral village or town.

Memons worldwide

Memons migrated from Sindh to Kutch, and later to Kathiawar (Kathiawad) and other part of Gujarat.

Memons spread throughout the Indian Ocean basin in the 19th century, but most Memons lived in Kathiawar,

prior to the independence of Pakistan. Many later settled in Pakistan. Today, they are scattered throughout

India but majority of them live in the port city of Karachi in Pakistan, with significant communities in the

United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia,

South Africa, Malawi, Kenya, Mauritius, Singapore, Australia and Burma. Memons are known for their

involvement in business and philanthropy, with Memons having played a major part in the building of

Pakistani industry, an increasing number of Memons are turning to professional occupations.[10]

Owing to their tradition of management and attention to detail, Memons are a prosperous community. They

have built vast business legacies and a high percentage of Memons around the world belong to the upper-

middle class.

USED vs LOVED

While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car.

In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times not realizing he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures.

When the child saw his father with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?'

The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.

Devastated by his own actions. sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'.

The next day that man committed suicide. . .

Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely

life & remember this:

Things are to be used and people are to be loved. The problem in today's world is that people are used while things are

loved. Let's try always to keep this thought in mind:

Things are to be used, People are to be loved.

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character; Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder.

I hope you have a good day no matter what problems you may face.

It's the only day you'll have before it's over.

Golden words

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve. - Dr. Napoleon Hill You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough other people what they want.

Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance. Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open

Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure.

Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend

If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way. - Napoleon Hill
