What’s New in 2014 for Falcon JumboJan van Haasteren has been creating hilarious illustrations exclusively for Jumbo for many years and 2014 is no di�erent. Falcon Jumbo recently established the ‘Jan van Haasteren Studio’ which welcomes talented illustrators to join the Jumbo team, under the supervision of Jan. One such illustrator with a great ‘puzzling’ future is fellow Dutch countryman, Rob Derks.

If you enjoy the Jan van Haasteren puzzles, then the new the ‘Pieces of History’ range featuring Vikings 1000 piece and Stone Age 500 piece puzzles, illustrated by Rob, are ideal for you. “I would like to how other members keep their jigsaws safe once done. I have been keeping mine on �attened cardboard inside a plastic bag to keep the dust o� them, but would welcome any other suggestions especially for 1000 piece jigsaws.”

Many thanks for your letter Shirley as other members have asked this question too. I know many of you are reluctant to part with your puzzles – so it would be great to see if you have any ideas or suggestions to help. Obviously it is possible to use the puzzle conserver or puzzle frames; however these would involve having a lot of spare wall space to display them and tends to be used for special puzzles. Please write in or email and we will pass your ideas on to Shirley and put any interesting ideas in a future newsletter. If anyone has any photos of their displayed puzzles it would be lovely if you could send them in. Thank you.

I think I’m just about settling in now. Mark and Juliet have a family of 3 boys and are being kept very busy juggling them with the puzzles…! They have said how lovely it is to hear from you all and get to know you.

Just to say - we have not automatically sent members of the Wasgij and JVH collectors club the new ‘football crazy’ puzzles – simply because not everyone is football crazy….

Competition for this issue 102 –Something to get the brain matter working – can you complete the Word Sudoko below using the phrase – “JIGSAW FUN” ? It is done exactly the same as a number sudoko however you have to put all 9 letters of the phrase in each square/line instead of numbers and only use each letter once.
