In order for Norwood to satisfy the growing demand in the Waikato region and continue the growth of the company, C B Norwood Distributors Ltd opened another Norwood branch in the heart of the Waikato. On 1st April 2008, Norwood Farm Machinery Centre opened its doors in Morrinsville, ‘the cream of the country’. By having a branch in Morrinsville we are able to strengthen our bond with local farmers on the eastern area of the Waikato.

Norwood Farm Machinery Centre, Morrinsville have enjoyed two great years in the Matamata/Piako district, developing and sustaining relationships with the local farmers while offering excellent service, sales and support. They can also be found supporting the local community by being a part of the Morrinsville Promotion Association and active participants in the annual Morrinsville A&P show. As well as sponsoring many Morrinsville organizations.

Scott and Tracey Nicholson started their contracting business 12 years ago in 1998 with three tractors, a maize planter and 3 row kemper head. Today Scott runs two self propelled forage harvesters, up to nine tractors and numerous harvesting and cultivation equipment.

Operating out of their premises in Mangatarata north of Morrinsville Nichol-son Contracting employ six full time staff and up to twenty in the peak of the contracting season, covering the Hauraki Plains and Morrinsville area. They cover all aspects of agricultural farming from cultivation and planting to baling and harvesting.

Scott says “two of the best investments he has made for his company has been the 8 row Kinze EdgeVac planter and 6 metre Horsch drill” both supplied by Tigs at Norwood Farm Machinery Centre, Morrinsville.

Working alongside Tigs and Norwood they were able to supply us with the exact machines for our requirements”.

“The Kinze 8 row planter has performed faultlessly while at the same time has saved considerable costs and time spent in the field”. The main features of the Kinze we liked was its robustness, simplicity and the ease from transport to field position and most importantly the end result.

When the need came to update our existing drill we again worked closely with Tigs and Norwood. After trialling a number of drills to the point of view-ing the crop once it had come up and established. At this point it became an obvious decision to purchase the 6 metre Horsh drill. Again we were very happy with the strength of the drill, absolutely rapt with the ease of calibration and the accuracy. The total job it has done is perfect to the point where our clients have commented on how well it has done.

Because of the commitment from Norwood and their willingness and exper-tise in large scale contracting it is easy to continue a long lasting partnership with Nor-wood Farm Machinery Centre, Morrinsville.

Higher Horsepower M-Series Works Smarter, Not HarderThe Kubota - Electronic Management System (K-EMS) is a new, innovative electronic engine control system. K-EMS includes a computerised governor control dial that maintains engine revolutions per minute (RPM) to the operator’s selection, while two memory settings can be set for low-and-high-frequently used speeds.

“When working in a field, the new electronic “Work-Kruise” control, part of the K-EMS system, monitors the engine to maintain a constant speed,” said Monty. “In hilly terrain the “Work-Kruise” ties together with the Field Auto-Mode to optimize field travel speeds – the operator does not have to constantly maintain the throttle, which helps increase field productivity.”

Two New Kubota Built Loaders To complete the new M-Series enhancements, Kubota is introducing two new loaders: the LA1953 and the LA2253. Each loader is configured with the ISO Euro-coupler system. The LA1953 is performance matched to the M100X and the M110X and has a lifting capacity of 1950 kg, while the LA2253 is matched to the M126X and the M135X and has a lifting capacity of 2240 kg.
