Sub-micron grain carbide Our carbide substrate has a significantly denser, more uniform grain

structure than other brands. This provides exceptionally high resis-tance to plastic deformation and flank wear. It also reduces the possibility of breaking the insert.

Edge preparation (honing) Instead of brushing our

edges, we use a micro-sandblasting technique to achieve an edge tolerances of +/- 5 um. This precise method of honing creates extremely sharp cutting edges, improves cutting edge life and over-all cutting performance.

Patented coating Our patented PVD coating has a much higher wear resistance,

essential to maintaining sharp cutting edges and extending tool life. Our coating is applied in thousands of layers and is 3.5X thicker than other brands (up to 14 microns).

Our patented, specially formulated PVD and a highly controlled manufacturing process are the reasons why Techniks’ LT grade inserts perform well in ALL materials up to 55HRC.
