Hey there Cougars!

So…if you want to sing and dance and play, I will be posting on my website some music activities each week that you can do from home. To find them, click on the most recent blog post and open the attached document. Feel free to send me pics of what you are doing or to reach out on Seesaw. Hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

Miss Petry

3) I am here to communicate with IVE families and will reply to emails sent to [email protected] as well as to any messages sent via Seesaw.

IVE Music Emergency Education Learning Plan May 5 – May 8

For ALL Students K-5

RESPONSES: This week please send me a response for the activities you try. You do not need to do them all. Pick a couple and share your response with me in writing or on video in Seesaw.

General Questions:

1) How are you? What has this time been like for you and your family? What do you want to share with me about the time we’ve been apart?

2) Most lessons that have been posted so far include several parts: Get Moving! Musical Planet! Quaver Lesson, MusicPlayOnline

Which ones have you tried? Which have been your favorite?

Responses for This Week’s Lesson:

Get Moving! Let me know if you’ve done this part of the lesson. You can message me or send me a video on Seesaw.

Musical Planet Uganda!

3-2-1 Response: Share 3 interesting facts, 2 things that are new to you, and 1 question that you have about Uganda.

Quaver Music

1) What have you done so far in Quaver? Have you tried the lesson I assigned? If so, did you like it? What did you learn or re-learn?

2) Have you played around on the site? If so, what have you discovered? What’s your favorite?

MusicPlayOnline

I love this site! It is a fun way to practice rhythm & pitch. If you haven’t tried this yet, give it try this week!

Office Hours

I hold weekly office hours from 9:00-10:00 AM on Wednesdays. Feel free to email during that time for a quicker response. Also, at 9:30am, I will jump on Zoom to chat, sing or make music with any students and families who want to join me.

Ann Marie Petry is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting. Join Zoom Meeting https://us04web.zoom.us/j/76333812228?pwd=UmFHVDFXU0R1MERqbm9KcGlTQ3FUQT09

Musical Planet! Uganda

This week we are traveling to Uganda. Watch the video here. Then listen to and read along with the story. The text is on the next page and the recording is here.

Learn a traditional song called Yaa Yaa Yaa! Click on the song title to hear the recording. The music is below. After you’ve learned the song, try the dance!

Get Moving!

Looking for a way to move more at home? Dance along with my friend John Jacobson in this arrangement of Brave by Sara Bareilles.

Fourth Grade Music

Recorder: If you’d like to share your belt songs with me, you can send them via Seesaw. All recorder information is on the website.

Quaver Music

I assigned a lesson in Quaver a couple weeks ago. I may use Quaver a bit more so please be sure you are able to access it.

Issaquah School District students access Quaver through their Clever account.  They do not need a separate Quaver username or password.  If you are unfamiliar with how to log onto Clever, please follow these instructions in English or these instructions in Spanish.

If you experience problems logging in, please let me know via email or Seesaw and I will work to fix the issues for you.

Once you log in, use the directions on this page to explore the website: Infographic from Quaver Music. You can also go into the Student Interactives area and check out the activities there.
