ISP Updates and Service Packs

ASG encourages you to visit the Intelligent Support Portal (ISP): http://isp.asg.com. The ISP allows you to verify whether any product or documentation revisions, new maintenance, or service packs apply to this product release.

Product Information

MyInfoAssist ensures the effective management of your organization’s business metadata by delivering metadata context to end users in a fast and easy manner. The product provides instant access to business terms defined in metaGlossary.

Enhancements and Changes

Version 2.00.000

These changes have been made to MyInfoAssist in Version 2.00.000:

• Support for Info Retrieval has been added.

Info Retrieval receives the requests for business term information from a metaGlossary environment and processes them in a highly efficient manner. It replaces the metaGlossary REST API as MyInfoAssist’s gateway to Rochade.

• The display of business terms now includes information about the entities for which the term provides the definition.

• MyInfoAssist now obtains all attributes of a business term from Rochade (including non-standard attributes).

• Style sheets have been added that enable you to modify the display of the business term information (e.g., include non-standard attributes).

• In addition to opening business terms in metaGlossary directly from the MyInfoAssist user interface, you now also can open them in Rochade Browser.

• Support for single sign-on (SSO) and role-based access to business term information has been added.

• MyInfoAssist now uses WordCaptureX Plus, which supports capturing text from additional sources (e.g., images, Adobe Flash, Microsoft Visual FoxPro, etc.).

Corrections and Fixes

Version 2.00.000

This error has been corrected in MyInfoAssist 2.00.000:

In some cases, cached connections could remain in the connection pool even if they were no longer required. MyInfoAssist now uses the improved and more robust connection pool of Info Retrieval, which resolves this issue.

Version 1.00.101

These errors were corrected in MyInfoAssist 1.00.101:

• Searching for business terms that contained special characters, in some cases, could cause an exception.

• Specifying port numbers for an application server with more than four digits was not possible.

• MyInfoAssist, in some cases, sent more requests to the metaGlossary REST API than required.

Group Policy Deployment

You also can deploy MyInfoAssist using Group Policy. The deployment, however, does not support the command line parameters of Windows Installer. Therefore, if you want to specify default settings for MyInfoAssist, you must edit the myinfoassist.msi file.

To specify default settings for MyInfoAssist within the myinfoassist.msi file

1 Open the myinfoassist.msi file in the Orca database editor.

2 Select the Property entry from the Tables list.

3 In the table of properties, search for the PROPERTY_FILE entry, then double-click the entry in the Value column to edit it:

4 Specify the full path to the registry file that contains the default settings and press Enter.

5 Save the myinfoassist.msi file.

NOTES: • The myinfoassist.msi file and the registry file containing the default settings must be available to each system to which you want to deploy the product.

• If you place the files on a network share, you must make sure that client systems have permission to access the network share.
