Indonesian Scholars International Convention (ISIC) is held as an annual event of the Indonesian Students Association in the United Kingdom (PPI UK) since 2001. This event is aimed to provide a medium for Indonesian and International scholars to exchange ideas, build a network, and collaborate on personal, academic, and professional level.

This year, it wil l be hosted at the University of Nottingham. We will invite nota-ble speakers, students and researchers to participate in various interesting sessions during the conference.

ISIC prides in its abil ity to bring various Indonesian leaders in the field of academics, business, and government to the United Kingdoms. Notable speakers that have shared their knowledge in the past iterations of the event includes:

Transportation

Nottingham station is the closest railway station to the University of Nottingham, with trains coming from all over the UK. This includes a direct train from London St Pancras International to Nottingham station operated by East Midlands Trains, which takes just over 2 hours. Then, trams, buses or taxis can be taken to go to the Trent Building within the University Park campus.

Train

National Express offers coaches running from various cities across the UK including from London to Nottingham, with l ines stopping either at University North Entrance or Station street (by the Nottingham station), taking around 3.5 hours from Heathrow Airport or around 5.5 hours from Gatwick Airport. If stopping at Station street, trams, buses or taxis can then be taken to go to the Trent Building within the University Park campus.

Coach

NET trams operate throughout the city, with a route running from Nottingham station towards Toton Lane to the University of Nottingham every 7-10 minutes during daytime. Please note that the trams operate under ‘Buy before you board’ scheme, so tickets must be bought from the ticket machines on the tram stop before boarding.

Tram

It is the same way to travel from any start point cities to Nottingham. National rail companies and national express coach are the most common modes of transportation to travel between cities in the UK. Their tickets can be booked online; for train please visit www.thetrainline.com or www.nationalrail .co.uk, for National Express go to www.nationalexpress.com.

Tram and bus are the most common modes of transportation to travel inside Nottingham. Other than paying by cash, you can also pay by a Robinhood Pay As You Go Card (https://robin-

hoodnetwork.co.uk/). A Robinhood PAYG card can be easily purchased and topped-up from machines near bus or tram stops; it can be used for a way to pay for any public transportation in Nottingham (except for Pronto, Red Arrow, Skylink).

There are two bus operators offering routes from Nottingham station to the university. The NCT Orange Line 34 runs every 15 minutes, while Skylink runs every 20 minutes. Bus ticket can be bought from the driver (some bus operators not give any change if paying by cash).

You can rent a private car using your Indonesian driving l icense. Please familiarise with the UK highway codes (https://www.gov.uk/browse/driving/highway-code-road-safety) before diving a car and try to follow the codes at all time because violation induces heavy penalty fees. Most car rental companies usually have branch near airports and car can be booked online. Some of rental car companies that can be named are: www.en-

terprise.co.uk, www.europcar.co.uk, or visit www.rentalcars.com. Using Google Maps, set the destination as ‘Trent Building, University Park, University of Nottingham’. Car parking is available at the Trent building main car parks, as shown below. Please also consider parking availabil ity in your accommodation.

For ISIC participants, there are two optional accommodations where you can stay during the event and are the closest to the University of Nottingham
