Raising Awareness About Life Insurance

Each September since 2003 has been designated as Life Insurance Awareness Month. Like most awareness-raising campaigns, Life Insurance Awareness Month was created because there is an overwhelming lack of understanding of life insurance, its uses, its benefits, and its variations among the general public. Each year, the Life Insurance Market Research Association (LIMRA) puts out the results from a recent survey, and unfortunately, the numbers they report continue to be discouraging.

A recent survey found that more than 75 percent of people polled did not have a personal financial advisor, even though 68 percent of them said their opinion

Membership Michael Mank, PGK 410-574-6690

The new fraternal year has started off with a bang. Christopher Seymore took his 1st Degree on August 2, Joseph Cascio at

Cardinal Gibbons Council on August 10 and Victor Bisignani and Chuma Odiegwu at Patapsco Council on August 17. Frank

Magri is scheduled for an admission committee meeting on September 6. He is also scheduled for our 1st Degree on

September 19. The 2nd Degree for these men is scheduled for September 21 at Patapsco Council. As you can see star

council award is very possible this year with your help. In the next two months, we have many activities for membership at the

parishes and also a men's fellowship and a ministry fair, along with the Parkville Fair and Mercy High School. Your help will be

much appreciated.

Always continue to carry a form 100 or the 921A card with you. If you need any support my phone is always available.

Program Director’s Report Steve Radsminski 410–663-6107

We hope that you have had a peaceful and relaxing summer, but it is now time to become active again in this fraternal year.

We did have a couple of activities this August, and our sincerest thanks to the Stevenson Family for chairing these events.

First, the Council went to the Ironbirds game, complete with a tailgate party and fireworks. The Council also hosted guests

from Special Friends of St. Isaac Jogues and from Camp Glow. The Council also held the annual family picnic at the

Stevenson’s shore home. Everyone who attended had a great time. We will do these events again next year, please think

about attending.

The council has quite a full calendar for the autumn: Incentive Car Raffle, Parkville Fair, Tootsie Roll Drive, Youth Soccer

Shootout, Food for Families, Festival of Trees, ARC Christmas Party, Council Christmas Party. This year, under the leadership

of the Grand Knight, the council is arranging to participate at the food kitchen, and trying to hold a CPR class and certification.

Finally, don’t forget your spiritualty, with various fellowships. We need you to participate! Plan on coming! Details will be given

at upcoming meetings.

Have ideas and/or suggestions, contact me at 410-663-6107 or [email protected].

God Bless!

tickets for a 2016 Ford Mustang.

of the current economic conditions was somewhat unfavorable or very unfavorable.

In other words, a majority of those surveyed were uncomfortable with the economy and the uncertainty it brings, yet they did not seek professional assistance. Maybe they spoke with their friends and family. Maybe they hoped the instability would go away on its own. Maybe they did not know to whom to turn.

If you fall into this category, please remember that as a member of the Knights of Columbus, you have a full-time, professional agent you can call your own. My primary responsibility is the care and service of your family’s life insurance, retirement and long-term care needs. I’ll answer your questions because I want your decisions to be informed ones. I want to help.

Another LIMRA statistic said 43 percent of people did not buy life insurance because they worry about “making the wrong decision.” Talk with me, your agent, and, afterwards, you’ll understand that the only wrong decision was not purchasing sooner to protect your family’s future.
