One week ago, a game called Pokemon Go was launched, and over the last seven days it has become aninternational phenomenon. It is the first mass market video game to successfully blend the real world and the digitalworld together in a way that the public truly embraces, and it is making headlines all over the planet. At this point ithas almost as many daily active users as Twitter does, and Nintendo’s stock price is going crazy as a result. OnMonday it shot up 25 percent, and on Tuesday it surged another 13 percent. In other words, Nintendo is now worthbillions of dollars more than it used to be. But is there a dark side to Pokemon Go? Is it potentially evil, dangerousor demonic?

Many people would dismiss such questions as complete nonsense. Unlike most video games, Pokemon Goactually requires people to leave their homes, get some exercise and visit real places. This type of game is beingcalled “augmented reality”, and it is bringing people together in new and interesting ways. In fact, the WashingtonPost is reporting that a lot of people are actually ending up in church as they hunt Pokemon creatures.

But not everything is unicorns and lollipops with this new game. Over the past week, we have seen people commitrobberies at Pokemon Go locations, and there are very serious data security concerns. The following comesfrom Ricky Scaparo…

New reports are now coming in of the practical dangers of this game such as a recent report out ofBaltimore where Multiple people were robbed playing the “Pokemon Go” game last week, accordingto the Baltimore County Police Department. And then there is personal security concerns that have

surfaced as a new report indicated that players that have logged into the game using their Googleaccount may have given the app permission to go through all of their Google data, including emailsand website history.

But much more alarming to many is the content of the game itself. As Mena Lee Grebin has pointed out, “Pokemon”actually comes from two Japanese words that mean “Pocket Monster”…

Meaning of the word Pokémon: a contraction of two Japanese words, “Poketto” and “Monsut,”meaning “Pocket Monster”

Definition of Monster: a creature that is typically large, ugly, and frightening. Synonyms – rascal, beast, demon, brute, imp, devil.

Even the Washington Post admits that there are creatures such as “a flaming demon” in Pokemon Go. As playersprogress through the game, they collect these monsters and demons, train them, and have them fight againstPokemon owned by others. Here is more from Ricky Scaparo…

The Pokemon are supposed to be “monsters” that have special powers and share the world withhumans. The idea of the game is to have the children learn how to collect as many Pokemon aspossible, train them, and use them against other people’s Pokemon by invoking the variousabilities of each Pokemon creature. Pokemon can evolve and pass through various levels, 100being the highest. Colored energy cards are sometimes used to aid the Pokemon.

But “it’s just a game” right?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Everything that we do, whether it is a “game” or not, trains us or conditions us in various ways. Often seeingsomething in a movie or coming across something in a video game can spark an interest or open a door intosomething deeper. For instance, occult organizations admit that one of their best recruiting tools is Harry Potter. After reading the books or watching the movies, many have found themselves curious about the occult world.

Realizing that, just consider some of the things that go on in the world of Pokemon. The following comes from theChristian Apologetics and Research Ministry…

Is Pokemon dangerous? Potentially, yes it is. It conditions the child who plays the game intoaccepting occult and evolutionary principles. Haunter can hypnotize, eat a person’s dreams, anddrain their energy. Abra reads minds. Kadabra emits negative energy that harms others . Gastly induces sleep. Gengar laughs at peoples’ fright. Nidoran uses poison. The Psychic type ofPokemon are among the strongest in the game. Charmander, Haunter, Ivysaur, Kadabra, andmany more evolve. The children are taught to use these creatures to do their will by invoking coloredenergy cards, fights, and commands. Much of it is reminiscent of occult and eastern mysticism.

Page 3: Is Pokemon Go Evil, Dangerous Or Demonic? - Zion's · PDF fileIs Pokemon Go Evil, Dangerous Or Demonic? ... sword to threaten the demon ... "My first two pokestops on Pokemon Go were

But it goes even farther than that. According to occult expert Bill Schnoebelen , Pokemon players engage in all sortsof activities that would be considered deeply occult if they were done in real life…

Like many video games, Pokémon is riddled with occult concepts. Concepts like “magical stones”,teleportation, ghosts, all-seeing eye, psychic power and using spirits to achieve results in thereal world are all givens in this game realm. All of this is contrary to scripture. The Pokémon gamesand comics, etc. teach what I have called a magic worldview that is completely opposed to the Bible.

The Magic Worldview is the idea, common to all occult belief systems, that there is not really anysovereign Deity over creation. Instead, creation is ruled by a series of occult laws. In a sense, theuniverse is like a cosmic vending machine. As long as you put in the right coin (ritual or spell) youautomatically achieve the desired result.

Particularly disturbing is the concept that children are being trained to “capture” demon-like creatures, train andcontrol them, and use them against others. Many believe this very closely mirrors what many high-level occultistsattempt to do with real demons. Here is more from Bill Schnoebelen…

The magician works from within a specially prepared magic circle which supposedly protects himfrom the demon as long as he stays inside it. He uses special magickal weapons like a wand, staff orsword to threaten the demon and make it do his or her bidding. Once the ritual is successful, supposedly the demon belongs to the magician to do his or her bidding -as long as the stipulations oftheir contract are kept by sorcerer. Often the demon will grant the magician occult powers or give himor her special talismans to control others. This is a large part of high magick.

Now, there is barely a dime’s worth of difference between this and what goes on in the “ make-believe” Pokémon universe!

As the Pokemon Go craze continues to sweep the nation, it is inevitable that this game will be hotly debated inChristian circles.

And just like with the Harry Potter books and movies, many will become extremely upset at the suggestion that theremight actually be something wrong with Pokemon Go.

But we all have a responsibility to evaluate what we are feeding into our minds, and this is especially true if you area parent of young children.

In the end, everyone will do what they think is best for themselves, but as for me and my house we will definitely bestaying far away from Pokemon Go.

Once Condemned as Evil, Pokémon Go Now Sending

Lots of People to Church

By Leonardo Blair , Christian Post Reporter

Churches as Pokéstops on the Pokémon Go app.

Pokémon Go, the popular new augmented reality game app from the Pokemon media franchise that

some Christian churches once condemned as evil, is surprisingly now sending many players of the game

to local churches, and in some cases, they are being welcomed with open arms.

Reddit user Fanatix_phil first highlighted the trend in a thread last Thursday, just a day after the app was

released, with a meme highlighting three churches in the game tagged as Pokéstops.

"Decades ago churches condemned Pokemon as being satanic and evil for children. Now that we're

grown we're finally going back to those very churches to tell them we turned out OK and also to stock up

Page 5: Is Pokemon Go Evil, Dangerous Or Demonic? - Zion's · PDF fileIs Pokemon Go Evil, Dangerous Or Demonic? ... sword to threaten the demon ... "My first two pokestops on Pokemon Go were

on supplies," a message on the meme noted.

Pokéstops are basically free item drops placed around the world. They are mostly stationed at important

cultural spots, such as statues, public buildings, and other locations like churches.

Church properties are also being used as gym locations as part of the game. In Pokémon Go, a gym is

where players, known as trainers in the game, gather to battle against each other. Trainers join one of

three teams at an early stage of the game, and those teams fight for control of the gyms. If a team

controls a gym, that team gets perks and bragging rights at the location. Gyms are also usually located in

public places.

Workers at Griffith First Christian Church in Indiana first noticed an increased number of persons

popping up at the church glued to their cell phones before they realized that the church was a part of the

game. Since summer is now in full swing, and the players appeared to be spending a lot of time in the

heat, Joanne Adamoski told The Christian Post on Tuesday that the church decided to offer the players

water and the Gospel if they were open to it.

"We just found out that they have three gyms, I guess they are at our property so because it's hot right

now they just put out a cooler of water and they advertised it on Facebook," Adamoski said of the

church's response to the players.

"I don't know who does that, I don't know who's in charge of where they place these. You see people

walking around with cell phones, driving by… So we just offer them water," she said.

(Photo: Fanatix_phil/Reddit)

"If we are able to, (we talk to them about the Gospel) if they pursue it at all. We're not doing it as any kind

of high pressure. No tricks. It's just hot, 'how about a drink?' It's like a good service thing to do,"

Adamoski added.

A message posted to the church's Facebook page with photos of the cooler with a message inviting the

players to drink freely said in part: "It's time to love people in Jesus name. From the biggest to the

smallest things to everything in between... We MUST love people no matter what. As we see several kids

(and adults!) come to our property in the coming days and weeks (as we are one of the most popular

spots in Griffith with 3 destinations here alone), this is a great opportunity to show a no strings attached

kind of love. Stay hydrated, and happy playing!"

One player, Kathleen Renee, responded to the church with: "Thank you so much. My friends and I were

in need of a drink by the time we biked there and thought it was amazing! Thank you!!"

Some players, however, took to social media to joke about their experience with having to go to church

Page 7: Is Pokemon Go Evil, Dangerous Or Demonic? - Zion's · PDF fileIs Pokemon Go Evil, Dangerous Or Demonic? ... sword to threaten the demon ... "My first two pokestops on Pokemon Go were

as a part of the game.

"My first two pokestops on Pokemon Go were at a church and thought God was telling me something.

Then my 3rd was KFC and I knew he was right," wrote Jared Smith on Twitter.

"I need Pokéballs for #PokemonGO, and the church next door is a Poké Stop, but a funeral is going on

#decisionsdecisions #gottacatchemall," wrote Jack Williams.

Commenters on the Reddit thread, including some who claimed to be Christian ministry workers, were

quick to note that not all churches were against Pokémon.

"As someone in ministry, it was the super strict churches that hated Pokemon. My parents let me have

cards, watch the shows and do everything. My church didn't care. My church also didn't care about Harry

Potter," wrote timberflynn.

"Same, though that wasn't the case for all the members themselves. A friend of mine wasn't allowed to

have anything to do with Pokemon… and the old members of the congregation threw a huge fit when the

youth pastor's wife (who sang in the band) had the gall to where sandals. I think it was less to do with the

church itself and more to do with people wanting to force their own beliefs on others, which is a shame. It

just turns people off of religion," added TheMrBoot.

While Pokémon Go has become an overnight sensation in the U.S., authorities highlighted in a Reuters

report noted that the gaming app has played a role in armed robberies in Missouri, the discovery of a

body in Wyoming and minor injuries to distracted fans.

"When you're involved in a game and not paying attention to what's going on around you, your

situational awareness can go down," Greensboro, North Carolina police officer Ben Wingfield noted in

the report.

"We encourage all people playing Pokemon Go to be aware of their surroundings and to play with friends

when going to new or unfamiliar places," Pokemon Company International and Niantic told Reuters in an

emailed statement.

Pokémon Creator Admits Games are Anti-Christian, AimedTowards Satanists

p4rgaming.com/pokemon-creator-admits-games-aimed-towards-satanists/

In a rare interview with Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri, he admits that the games were created as a backlashagainst his Christian parents. He also says that the games are tailored towards an anti-Christian sentiment orSatanism.

The interview, conducted by Time about the continued success of the Pokémonseries, took a sharp left turn when Tajiri was asked about the inspiration for thegames. The following is an excerpt from the interview:

Time: What inspired you to start making the Pokémon games?

Tajiri: Well, my parents were Christians. I grew up being taught the waysof that religion. When I got older, I started to realize that the things theysaid were foolish and I guess I rebelled a little.

Time: How did you rebel?

Tajiri: I started to argue against their teachings. They tried to punish mein various ways to try to get me under control, but it didn’t work. This iswhen I was inspired by nature and started the basis for the Pokémon games.

Time: Could you explain how your parent’s religion is connected with the games?

Tajiri: Well, when I got old enough, I wanted to do something that would show the world that myparents were wrong. Something I saw in nature was the concept of evolution which my parentsvehemently denied existed. This sparked the idea for a game that would go against everything myparents believed in.

Time: This game being Pokémon, correct?

Tajiri: Yes. Pokémon is essentially the correct answer towards life, not Christianity. Everythingpresented in the game is the opposite of what Christians may believe. Some have said that the gamepromotes voodoo or magic, and I agree in the sense that there are many things that occur in naturethat are unexplainable. Furthermore, the violence in the games is unparalleled. It may not show up inthe actual graphics, but the brutality is made especially explicit in the Pokédex entries. Nature, again, played a big role.

Time: So those who say that the game is anti-Christian are correct?

Tajiri: I suppose so. I mean, some could say that the game supports Satanism. I don’t officiallycelebrate it, but I can understand why people would be attracted to it.

Nintendo refused to comment on the interview.

Pokemon players are trespassing, risking arrest or worseyahoo.com/news/pokemon-players-trespassing-risking-arrest-worse-194233630.html

PHOENIX (AP) — The "Pokemon Go" craze across the U.S. has people wandering into yards, driveways, cemeteries and even an off-limits police parking lot in search of cartoon monsters, prompting warnings thattrespassers could get arrested or worse, especially if they cross paths with an armed property owner.

Since the release of the smartphone game last week, police have gotten a flurry of calls from residents aboutpossible burglars or other strangers prowling the neighborhood.

So far, few tickets have been issued, and there have been no reports of arrests or assaults on trespassers playingthe game, whose object is use the phone's GPS technology to find and capture animated creatures in real-worldplaces.

"Be careful where you chase these Pokemon — or whatever it is you chase — because we have seen issues inother places with people going onto private property where a property owner didn't want them on there," saidAssistant Police Chief Jim McLean in Pflugerville, Texas.

Some players have expressed worries on social media that the game could result in a fearful property owner pullinga gun — a scenario that could fall into a legal gray area in the nearly two dozen states with "stand your ground"laws that allow people wide latitude to use deadly force when they believe they are in danger.

McLean's department posted a Facebook warning Monday after officers spotted a man playing the game in asection of a police parking lot where the public isn't allowed. The player had to pass keep-out signs and go over afence or under a gate to reach the area.

"I'm not sure how he got back there, but it was clear what he was doing," McLean said. "He was playing a Pokemongame with his phone up in the air."

In Utah, Ethan Goodwin, 17, of Tremonton, was slapped with a trespassing ticket that he worries could cost him upto $200 after he and a couple of friends went on an early morning Pokemon chase at an abandoned grain silo. Hemanaged to catch three creatures.

"I wouldn't say it was worth it, but I would say I'm glad I have the Pokemon I have now," he joked. He added: "It's adumb game, really, really stupid."

Every time the app is opened, a warning from game maker Niantic pops up, telling players to be aware of theirsurroundings. Players must also agree to fine print saying they cannot enter private property without permission.

There's also a disclaimer that says Niantic is not liable for any property damage, injuries or deaths that result whileplaying.

But those warnings don't seem to be getting through.

In Phoenix, police have started posting humorous and colorful warnings on social media, saying chasing the orangedragon Charizard is not a valid reason to set foot on someone else's property.

Nor is chasing the cat-like Mewtwo, according to Boise, Idaho, police. They posted a Facebook message sayingofficers responded to several calls about players trespassing on private property and illegally trekking across parksafter dark.

Gamers are also being warned to watch for traffic while playing and not to drive while on the app.

One woman told WPXI-TV in western Pennsylvania that her 15-year-old daughter was hit by a car while playing thegame and crossing a busy highway. The girl was hospitalized with an injured collarbone and foot, as well as cutsand bruises, said her mother, Tracy Nolan.

Capt. Michael Fowler with the Hanahan, South Carolina, police said his department in the city of about 20,000 hasgotten a few suspicious-activity reports related to "Pokemon Go," including multiple calls from a woman who fearedfor her safety as she watched cars go in and out of a church parking lot across from her house.

"I didn't know what was going on. The last time I heard about Pokemon was back in the '90s," Lynn Menges, 59,said.

Lt. Lex Bell, of the Unified Police Department in Utah, said officers outside Salt Lake City have responded to similarcalls. Most come after dark, with residents saying they believe motorists driving slowly through their neighborhoodmay be casing their homes. In one instance, a woman mistook a few glowing cellphones for flashlights as playershunted characters near her daughter's car.

Several cemeteries, including Arlington National outside Washington, have expressed worries about players on theirgrounds.

At Mobile Memorial Gardens in Alabama, president Timothy Claiborne said he has seen visitors walking or drivingaround with phones in their hands, playing the game. He asked people in about three dozen vehicles to leave overthe past couple of days, earning him the title "chief of the Pokemon patrol" from the staff.

"I just think we need to continue to have respect not only for the dead but for those who are grieving the dead," hesaid.

People are getting robbed and finding dead bodies while playingPokémon Go

recode.net/2016/7/11/12142366/pokemon-go-robbed-dead-body-crazy-stories

@_AlexHirsch / Twitter

It’s all fun and games until somebody gets robbed. Or finds a dead body. Or has their home turned into a Pokéstop.

It feels as though everyone and their mother is playing the new smartphone game Pokémon Go, which requiresusers to actually venture off their couch and into the real world to find, capture and train their fictitious Pokémoncharacters.

The concept is kinda cool, which is why kids and adults seem obsessed with it, and why it’s been the No. 1 app inthe App Store since its launch on Thursday and is currently No. 1 in the Google Play store, too.

But a bunch of smartphone-wielding youngsters walking around the streets looking for Pokémon hasn’t been entirelywithout incident. The game isn’t even a week old and already some crazy stuff has happened to its roaming horde ofPokémon trainers.

In Missouri (and probably other places), people are getting robbed while playing the game. On Sunday morning,Missouri’s O’Fallon Police Department posted a warning on Facebook that thieves were targeting Pokéstops —real-world locations that users visit to accomplish tasks within the augmented-reality game.

"Apparently they were using the app to locate ppl standing around in the middle of a parking lot or whatever otherlocation they were in," the post reads.

One of those Pokéstops, not in Missouri, was apparently some guy’s home. On Sunday, a Twitter user by the nameof Boon Sheridan tweeted that his house, an old church, was labeled as a Pokémon Gym inside the app. Cars andstrangers were loitering outside his property all day.

"I’ve officially stopped counting after easily 30+ people walking up and as many cars pulling up for a few minutes,"Sheridan tweeted as part of a fascinating tweet thread.

An Australian police station was also listed as a Pokéstop and had to remind users on Facebook that they didn’tactually need to come inside the station to play the game.

Other users on the hunt for Pokémon have had ... err ... interesting days. A 19-year-old woman found a dead bodyfloating in a river near her home in Wyoming while looking for Pokémon. This guy even caught a Pokémon while hiswife was giving birth. (Maybe it’s a joke?)

And, as with any trend that seems to catch fire online, there has been no shortage of tweets both celebrating andmocking everything about Pokémon Go.

"Pokémon Go" Nearly Claims First Victimthesmokinggun.com/documents/stupid/pokemon-go-car-crash-362895

JULY 13--A motorist who last night slammed his car into a tree in upstate New York told police that he wasdistracted playing “Pokémon Go” at the time of the crash, according to investigators.

The 28-year-old driver was not seriously injured in theaccident, which left his car crumpled. The vehicle, seen inthe adjacent police photo, careened off a road in the city ofAuburn and struck a tree around 10:45 PM Tuesday.

Police have not identified the driver, who suffered cuts to hislegs and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He is expected to be cited in connection with the one-caraccident.

The motorist, cops say, “admitted to actively playing the‘Pokémon Go’ game while driving causing him to becomedistracted and run off the roadway into a tree.” A policesafety alert notes how “easily accidents can occur whensomeone is engaged in the game and not paying attention.”

While seeking to catch Pokémon while playing the popularaugmented reality game, individuals should not be“operating a motor vehicle or bicycle,” cops advise.Additionally, “Do not trespass on private property whentrying to ‘catch’ a Pokémon.” (2 pages)

Pokémon Go Is an Agent of the Statejezebel.com/pokemon-go-is-an-agent-of-the-state-1783448711

This past weekend, watching hordes of grown people wander around New York City, phones akimbo, scouring forcartoon characters in real-life places with an enthusiasm rarely conjured for fellow live humans, it became clear tome that Pokémon is the Feds.

GPS privacy concerns are apparently passé. Historical amnesia has finally penetrating the nation not because ofgradual indoctrination or a Manchurian Candidate-style brainwashing, but due to a menagerie of cuddly fictionalanimals led by an adorable yellow rodent with rosy cheeks and floppy ears. Adult humans have capitulated to thiswithout compunction. Yet from where I sit, Pokémon Go is not a harmless little game, our new national obsession. It’s an opiate of the masses, so addictive that even telling the SHEEPLE! to WAKE UP! is a futile exercise becausethe sheeple are zombified, completely led by their new cartoon god!

ARE WE SO DISTRACTED WE CANNOT REMEMBER THE PAST?

In 1997, an episode of Pokémon, the television show, caused massive amounts of seizures in children, with 617hospitalized. The episode, entitled “Computer Warrior Porigon”—NOT A COINCIDENCE—was about “charactersfighting each other inside a computer.”

Don’t you see?

THEY’VE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR 20 YEARS.

As the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy once prophesied (paraphrased):
