District Governor’s Message

Thank you for coming to this celebration.  Tonight, in addition to having a good time, we come to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of our District which are too numerous to list.  These achievements of service to the community are the result of the dedication and tireless efforts of the Clubs and their members.  We also acknowledge the acts of service by the State and by Lions International.  These deeds are beyond the capabilities of the individual Clubs to complete on their own, but by our clubs supporting Lions Clubs International Foundation and the New York State and Bermuda Foundation, we as individuals and as clubs can aid communities all over the world which have suffered the effects of natural disasters, epidemics and plagues.

Thank you to my cabinet.  A special thanks to Cabinet Secretary Jay Singer and Cabinet Treasurer Steve DeName.  Their dedication and experience assisted me greatly in the performance of my duties.  Thanks to the past District Governors, Rich Kingman, Bob Kline, Karl Wallburg, Cary Smolen and Michael Bryceland for your advice and suggestions, many of which I accepted.  Thanks to Evelyn Kline for doing an outstanding job on the District Newsletter.  Thanks to Blauvelt Lions President, Dennis Hardy for his support by chairing this wonderful celebration and by driving me to many of my Club visitations to which we always arrived on time.  I also want to thank Lion Alex Tanchoco for putting this program together.  Finally, to my wife Lion Wynn, thank you for supporting and helping me in so many ways.  I love you very much.
