FOREWORD

This Indian Standard was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalizedby the Agricultural Tractors and Power Tillers Sectional Committee had been approved by theFood and Agriculture Division Council.

This standard provides recommendations for actuating forces to operate control members onagricultural tractors and is intended to be used for design purposes.

This standard was first published in the year 1983. This first revision is being brought aligningthe standard with the corresponding lSO/TR 3778 : 1987. Technical Report, 'Agriculturaltractors - Maximum actuating forces required to operate controls' published by the InternationalOrganization for Standardization as decided in the second meeting of FADe 32, AgriculturalTractors and Power Tillers Sectional Committee. The forces specified in this standard areexactly same as given in ISO/TR/3778 : 1987.

Por the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is compliedwith, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test, shall be rounded offin accordance with IS 2 : 1960 'Rules for rounding off numerical values ( revised)'. The numberof significant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that of the specifiedvalue in this standard.

1 SCOPE

This standard recommends the maximumactuating forces required to operate controlsof agricultural tractors equipped with normalcontrols.

NOTE - The actuating forces specified in thisstandard do not relate to machine performances.

2 MAXIMUM ACTUATING FORCESThe maximum recommended actuating forcesrequired to operate control are given in Table 1.
