Irvington Club News January 2020
resident’s Message Hello Irvington Club Members,
January will be a busy month for our Club, starting with our annual Junior Club Championship
tournament Jan 9-12.
Our Board election will be coming shortly, so make sure you read your emails for the dates, etc.
The Mixed Doubles tournament will start Friday, January 31st, with a kick off party in the ball-
room. We have some talented members who play in bands and they have graciously offered to
entertain us for the evening. The Club will provide snacks and beverages to kick off this great
tournament.
Mark your calendars for our annual meeting/party on February 29th. We may mix it up a bit so
stay tuned for details. You can count on great food, casino, dance, and raffle items.
We are requesting you update your personal information in Club Automation for the 2020 Irving-
ton Club Directory. If it is accurate, that is great, as we will print from Club Automation. You can
make changes through your profile or you can fill out the form kept at the front desk, or call the
front desk. We are happy to assist you any way we can.
Wishing you and your family good health and happiness in the New Year!
Barbara

Rose Haven Donation Drive THANK YOU! A big thank you to our members for their generous interest, donations, and support for the woman and children at Rose Haven this holiday season. Rose Haven is extremely pleased and grateful for the abun-dant donations that we collected and purchased for their clients. This was all made possible by our wonderful Community Involvement Committee.
Blue Door jazz band playing the Mixed Doubles party For the Mixed Doubles tournament kick-off party on January 31st, we will have live music from the Blue Door jazz band. Blue Door covers jazz standards from the 20’s through the 60’s, including Latin, Swing, Be-Bop, and Blues. The Blue Door musicians come from different musical backgrounds but share a love of jazz. Over the past few years, they've dedicated their Wednesday evenings to playing and learning together. The line-up includes a solid rhythm section of guitar, bass, keys, and drums, plus saxophone and violin. However, they often expand to supplement their sound with additional guest musicians. Vocalists Connie Keefe and Leo MacLeodwill be joining for a few vocal numbers at this performance.

The Community Involvement Committee is planning
the return of a Travel Night Series a few times a year
where members showcase their trips, and we come to-
gether to enjoy and learn about that part of the world.
Our first in 2020 will be on Thursday, February 20th at
7:00 pm.
We’re looking for members who would like to present a
slide show of a favorite trip. We’ll watch slides, hear sto-
ries, have a Q and A, along with beverages, light hors
d’ouerves and friendship.
Please email Mary Stevenson at
[email protected] by February 1st if you are
interested in sharing your travels.
