The problem
1 City1,000,000 Options
Looking through event sites is a hassle
By the time the weekend comes, I just end up going to the same old bar me and my friends always go to
instead of discovering one of the thousands of strangeand different experiences to have in my city.
The solution
ONE BUTTON
Your entire weekend planned
HOW?!
Relational database• Using Rails, I created relationships in the databasebetween events and users , users and interests, andinterests and event categories
SQL• I designed a query algorithm that would searchthe database and return results based on theserelationships and users’ individual preferences
AJAX• Javascript was used to dynamically query and display results to the page
APIs• APIs were used to seed the database

Weeqend remembers your number and texts you
back with personalized results
If I had more time…
Improve my algorithm
An intelligent app that learns about users andthe experiences they want to have
Use data such as their heart rate, most visited locations, education, background, dating status, and activity on social media
to make predictions
Take a photo of a bar, store or public space and Weeqend will store the location and search for future
events
Write a script that scrapes incoming emails fromsecret email-list parties, parses event
information and saves to database automatically
Users book events and restaurant reservations directly from Weeqend
Where to now?
