CERTIFICATION

• MC-21 program is at the certification testing stage

• MC-21-300 aircraft is certified according to Russian standards with subsequent validation according to European standards

• The Federal Air Transport Agency and EASA working groups are taking part in the certification program. In January and June 2019 EASA testers held two flight sessions

Flights are performed at the Ramenskoye airfield of the Gromov Flight Research Institute (city of Zhukovsky, Moscow Region)

During tests, the maximum values of the indicators were achieved:- height 12,500 m- M = 0.89- true speed 949 km / h- flight duration — 6.2 hours

Performance efficiency of all systems was confirmed in a wide range of speeds and altitudes. Corrections for the air signal system were obtained.

Aircraft performed flights at altitudes and speeds similar to the main operating conditions

Tests on limiting angles of attack and flutter are completed

In-flight launches of the main engines and auxiliary power unit were performed

Take-off and landing characteristics with imitation of engine failure were evaluated

Efficiency of the instrumental landing system, as well as navigation, landing equipment and external lighting equipment during flight at night, has been confirmed

Flights to determine the minimum take-off speed were performed

Enterprises participating in cooperation under the MC-21 program are manufacturing parts and assemblies of aircraft for customer’s delivery
