It was a snowy Friday evening in Helsinki and I was

having a night out with my best friend in a cosy Irish

pub called Molly Malone’s. On the fateful night, Vivian

was with his colleagues in the same pub and we ended

up chatting. At the end of the evening Vivian kissed me

good night and after that kiss I lost my heart

I gave him my email address on the back

of an IKEA receipt, but I was nearly 100%

sure that I wouldn’t hear from him ever

again as he was flying back to Ireland the

next morning. I was delighted a few days

later when I went to work and noticed that

a message had arrived from Vivian. Then

followed several months of phone calls,

emails, text-messages and visits, which

allowed us to build the relationship and

eventually we realized, that we had found

each other’s soul mate and fallen in love.

I made a decision to pack my belongings

and move to Dublin.

Malta was our first holiday

destination together and we fell in love with

the island ever since. Over the years we have

visited Malta several times and adore the

lovely weather and scenery, vast history and

friendly people on the island. A few years

later, while we were on a vacation in Dubai,

we had looked in some jewellery stores and I

gave a few hints to Vivian about what I liked.

However, I was fully unaware that he secretly

made arrangements to buy the rings and was

totally surprised when on our next holiday

in Malta he proposed to me at the romantic

“LOVE” statue at St. Julian’s Bay. Of course

I said YES!...and we got huge applause

from people sitting in the terraces, who had

noticed what was going on and gathered

close by to watch the result.

Around the same time, I happened to read

about Sarah Young in the Irish Wedding

Diary Magazine and decided to contact her

to look for some information about wedding

options in Malta. Following our first contact;

everything fell into place naturally – like it

was meant to be and Malta turned out to

be the perfect location for our wedding.

From the first moment onwards Sarah’s

efficiency, professionalism

and attention to detail

impressed us and we felt

that we made a connection

straight away. Both Vivian

and I are extremely busy

in our daily lives and

a thought of having a

wedding planner helping

us to organise our dream day was a real life

saver! We were able to trust our plans fully to

Sarah from the start. She seemed to understand

instantly what we were looking for and her

assistance was so personal –like she was there

only for us. Sarah and her team succeeded in

delivering everything we could hope for and

I got my dress in Ireland

from Ophelia Bridal in Drogheda. At the time

Ophelia Bridal didn’t have my dress in the collection

as I was looking for this particular dress, but Aoife

went the extra mile, looked it up and ordered it

for me especially. Her warm and personal approach

made the experience so special. I had two of my

closest friends as my bridesmaids, Paula and Maija

and their gowns were handmade in Finland.

Vivian had his good friend Trevor as his best man

and his brother, Frank, was the groom’s man. The

men’s attire for the wedding was

organised by a local company in

Malta, recommended by Sarah.

The day before the wedding we

had lovely pre-wedding party at

a local restaurant. It was really

fantastic to spend the evening with

our guests while enjoying delicious

finger food and drinks on a beautiful

terrace overlooking the sea.

Our wedding day was magical and

amazing. A vintage 1947 white

Rolls Royce took me and my Dad to The

Palazzo and Gardens, where Vivian was

waiting for me. The venue left everybody

wowed by its beauty. The registrar made

the ceremony very special, personal and

warm and the atmosphere was lifted up

to the roof by a gorgeous singer called

Rachel Fabri, whose voice is amazing.

After the ceremony we had a cocktail

hour with champagne and

canapés on the balcony

looking over the gorgeous gardens. When the

cocktail hour came to the end, transportation was

organized to the reception venue in St Julian’s Bay.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the hotel

and they exceeded themselves with the delicious

food and impeccable service. We partied the night

away with a fantastic band and singer Rachel Fabri.

The Groom and his relatives spiced up the band by

playing of few tunes and singing along with them!

Undoubtedly, we could not have achieved the best

day of our lives without Sarah and her team. We

have lovely memories to cherish for the rest of our

lives. The evening before we flew back home, we

went back to the “LOVE” statue at St. Julian’s Bay

and locked a lovelock on to the statue and threw

away the keys into the bay – Love Malta Forever.
