2. INTRODUCTION

Conventions

Throughout this guide the following conventions have been used:

AS/400 commands which are to be entered exactly as shown are displayed with a Bold typeface eg. CHGLIBL LIBL(QTEMP)

Any commands which require a generic parameter to be substituted by specific parameter are displayed with a Normal Italic typeface enclosed within curly brackets e.g. {IRIS Data Library}, {Tape Device}.

Any AS/400 commands where a parameter needs to be entered where one does not exist are displayed in a Bold Italic typeface. This generally only occurs on AS/400 screen displays where the screen is initially displayed without a parameter and one is selected from a list eg. *DEV *TAP

On AS/400 screens where the existing parameter requires amendment, the existing parameter is displayed in a Bold Italic typeface and is enclosed in curly brackets eg. {XUNMSYS}. The value that needs to be substituted is given in the accompanying text.



3. OVERVIEW

IRIS Release Naming Convention

Because of the development of a GUI (Graphical User Interface) version of the IRIS database, it has become necessary to introduce a revised naming convention for the releases of the IRIS software. Previously the naming convention consisted of two parts:

a Version number and

a Release number

For example IRIS 8.1.

With the introduction of the GUI version, the naming convention consists of three parts:

the GUI Version number,

the IRIS version number and

a Release number

For example 4.9.1

The last releases of the IRIS software were versions 9.15-ENH.

If the version of IRIS being used is earlier than version 9.15-ENH then the current version of the IRIS software needs to be upgraded to version 9.15-ENH before proceeding with this upgrade to version 10.16. If you do not have the upgrade instructions or tape for version 9.15-ENH, then please contact either the IRIS Helpdesk (020 7780 5373) or your Account Manager.

IRIS Upgrade Applicability

This documentation refers to the installation of the upgrade to IRIS version 10.16 of IRIS from version 9.15-ENH.

The installation is achieved via a central menu, which is provided on the tape supplied. This method of operation promotes ease of use and reduces the possibility for error.

Please read the whole of this documentation thoroughly and decide on the various options presented before undertaking the upgrade installation.



4. EXPECTED TIME

To assist with the planning of this installation, estimates of the expected time are provided for each of the major sections of the installation. This includes the preparation time before the actual install is attempted. It should be emphasised that the times provided are only estimates. The processor size of the AS/400 and the quantity of the data within the IRIS database will affect the times stated below.

6. INSTALLATION PRE-REQUISITES

This upgrade installation has been prepared on the basis that the following conditions exist on your machine:

The AS/400 is currently using Version 4 Release 5 or later of the operating system

The person undertaking the Installation has authority equivalent to QSECOFR or QSECADM

The User Profile E#UW exists on the AS/400 and has authority to the following commands:

RSTLIB

RSTOBJ

RSTDLO.

If any of the above are either not true or are not available then the upgrade installation will not run. Please contact your Account Manager for guidance.



7. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

Current Version of IRIS

This installation can only be applied to version 9.15-ENH-000 or one of the 9.15-ENH levels of IRIS. The current version of IRIS can be found in Data Area ZZPFRZA0. For example, if you are currently on 9.15-ENH-003 of IRIS, this data area should be set to ‘15E3’. The Data area can be accessed through the Data Area Manager option within IRIS. This option is found on the Housekeeping Menu. The data area can be found within the section entitled ‘General Data Area Maintenance’ and is entitled ‘IRIS Release Status’. In the past, this data area was not updated automatically when a system was upgraded, so unless it has been updated manually, it may be misleading. If you are at all unsure of the version you are currently on, please do not hesitate to call us.

Exclusivity

The upgrade installation cannot be applied if the IRIS system is in use. Please ensure that Users have been advised in advance of the intended date for the upgrade and that no Users are signed on to IRIS during the installation process.



8. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

General Instructions

Please note that all commands must be entered in upper case unless otherwise indicated. Sign on to the AS/400 using the profile E#UW. This profile must be used to ensure that the correct authority is used when applying Release 10.16.

Before the upgrade you should try to obtain a password for one of the User signons. This will be useful for checking accessibility to the IRIS system after the upgrade is completed.

The following section is a description of each of the menu options. This should be read before starting the upgrade on page 18 under the Pre-Installation procedures.

Conversion Menu

8.1.1 Conversion Menu Options

Option 1. Set Parameters / Data-areasThis option allows the operator to enter the details of the conversion to be performed. These details are stored and used by the later options on the menu.

Option 2. Restore Upgrade LibrariesThis option restores all libraries necessary for the upgrade to version 10.16 to your AS/400. The libraries are named according to the standard library naming convention (The naming standards are explained in the Appendix in section 20).

Option 3. End Journalling on Data LibrariesJournalling is ended on the data library to be upgraded.

Option 4. Re-size Upgrade FilesThis routine re-sizes all the new or amended physical files being delivered. This ensures that they are big enough to receive all of the data currently held in the equivalent environment to be upgraded IRIS file.

Option 5. Upgrade Data LibrariesThis option upgrades the existing data library for the chosen environment on the AS/400 to version 10.16 of IRIS. All current data and data-area settings are retained. The parameters required for the option have already been entered under Option 1 - Set Parameters / Data Areas

If the error report contains one of the following error messages:

'Error occurred while converting IRIS files: see report for details.' 'Error occurred while adding members to currency file: see report for details.' 'Error occurred while deleting unwanted objects: see report for details.' 'Error occurred while running V16 fix programs: see report for details.' 'Error occurred while changing authorities to *ALL: see report for details.' 'Error occurred while updating MAXMBRS parameter: see report for details.' 'Error occurred while setting data area values: see report for details.'

then the main data conversion has completed normally, but one of the additional conversion routines has failed. Menu option 5 - Upgrade Data Libraries can be re-run after the error has been corrected. The data conversion routine will continue from the point where the error occurred. The error report will be produced automatically on your spool queue and will help to determine the problem.

The upgrade can be re-started after any error that occurs during the Upgrade Data Libraries option has been corrected. It is not necessary to restore the AS/400 or start the whole upgrade again. The re-start is made available by re-running option 5 on the menu.

Option 6. Run Fix ProgramsThis option calls the relevant fix programs to be run. There are some fix programs that are run automatically, but there are others that are not. You need to check the Fix program section on page 51 and follow the instructions.

Option 7. Restart JournalingJournaling is restarted for the (now upgraded) data library. Option 8. Update Bureau Message SeveritiesThis resets the Bureau message severities back to your preferred values.



Option 9. Print Update MessagesThis option prints a report listing the current situation of the upgrade procedure, the upgraded library names and any outstanding tasks. The option can be run at any time to determine the status of the upgrade. It should be run if any of the options end abnormally.

Option 10. Display Upgrade Status Data-areaThis option displays the stage in the upgrade process that has been reached.

Option 11. ToolsThis is a menu consisting of various options designed to reduce the manual work involved in the upgrade. Details are below.

Option 12. Apply PTF to System LibraryThis option should only be run if a PTF is being applied. For full releases, a new copy of the system library is restored from tape. For PTFs, changed programs need to be applied to the existing system library, so this option needs to be run. A parameter screen will be displayed for the system library to be entered. (eg XUNMSYT for a test upgrade, XUNMSYS for a live upgrade).

Conversion Tools Menu (CNVTOL)

This is a fairly new menu that has been added since the 6.12 release to try to reduce the amount of manual job submission for the user. The Menu is accessed from the standard conversion menu. The options on the menu need not be taken in sequence, i.e. one after the other, but are to be used as and when the manual states. It is important to note that these options will not run unless the parameters have been set for the upgrade. This is explained later in the manual.

Option 1. Set output queue of this job's spooled files to HOLD

It is recommended that this be run before you begin the upgrade to prevent reports printing automatically.

Option 2. Check Scope

This option will submit the integrity checking job, and can only be run if the parameters have been set. The parameters are set using option 1 from the main Conversion menu. (F12 back to this menu if you are currently in the ‘Cnvtol’ menu). You will be asked to enter the name of the data library, journal library etc, and these will be used throughout the upgrade. If files are detailed on the reports produced by the checking job, these will need to be deleted before the upgrade can take place.

Option 3. Check for Data Library Lock

This option will display any users locking the data library. It is essential that no-one is using the data whilst the upgrade takes place, so do not start the upgrade whilst there are locks shown here.

Option 4. Rename System Library (only after LIVE upgrade)

DO NOT RUN THIS IF APPLYING A PTF

This is not relevant for PTFs.

This option is relevant to this particular release, but only following an upgrade to the LIVE system and only if the system library you are upgrading is called XUNMSYS (most IRIS sites do have their live system library as XUNMSYS).

Option 5. Set Print files to HOLD



This option will prevent all print files produced by IRIS from printing automatically.

Option 6. Copy Library List

This option will copy ZCSLREP, which holds the information necessary for APD into the relevant system library.

DO NOT RUN THIS IF APPLYING A PTF

This is not relevant for PTFs.

Option 7. Release output queue of this job's spooled files

This option will release the output queue held by selecting option 1.

Option 8. Set Print files to not held

This option will reverse option 5 and allow all print files produced by IRIS reports to print automatically.

Option 9. Store Check Information before Upgrade

Running this option will store record counts for all files and hash totals from selected fields on selected files BEFORE the upgrade.

Option 10. Store Check Information after Upgrade

Running this option will store record counts for all files and hash totals from selected fields on selected files AFTER the upgrade.

Option 11. Run Upgrade Check

This option will run reports comparing the BEFORE and AFTER information stored from options 9 & 10.

Installation Application Strategy Options

Please note that it is important to decide on the strategy to be adopted when applying this upgrade in advance of undertaking the task.

The installation can be performed in a number of ways depending on your current set up and the intended objective. It is important to decide your preferred route in advance. The factors affecting the choice are detailed below.

8.1.2 Environment (Mode)

The following options are available for the upgrade of the environments on your system.

Upgrade of Test Environment or Training Environment



Upgrade of Live Environment

Your selection may depend on whether you intend to test the new installation prior to its release to general Users of the system for the live business activities

Places that hold library lists in the GUI/AS/400 (initial library lists/System administration) will have to be re-visited after a test upgrade has taken place, to reflect any changes in system libraries. Section 9 has some reminders of what may need to be changed.

Pre-Installation Procedures

Ensure you are signed on as E#UW.

8.1.3 IRIS Preparation

Before the installation is applied a check must be made to ensure that all batch jobs have completed normally. To check a particular job queue, use the command:

WRKJOBQ QBATCH

In this example QBATCH is the job queue, but you can substitute this for your own specific queue.

It is strongly recommended that a closings update and a post closings be run. Furthermore, any reports scheduled to run during or after the installation should be completed prior to this installation. If any jobs do not finish normally then the problem must be resolved before the installation is attempted.

8.1.4 Back-up IRIS System

Before applying Release 10.16, it is imperative that the IRIS system is backed up. This will ensure that the system can be restored to its previous state should the installation fail or an unforeseen event occur whilst the implementation is taking place.

8.1.5 System Preparation (Live Environment only)

The installation will proceed more quickly if the following subsystems are ended:

QSNADS

QBATCH

Note: These sub-systems can be ended for a LIVE upgrade, but NOT for a TEST upgrade, since it will affect Users of the LIVE system.

The subsystems can be ended one at a time using the following command:

ENDSBS SBS({name of subsystem})



8.1.6 Delete SQL Packages

Please note that you need to delete the SQL packages for QGPL if you are upgrading a test or live system environment. In both test and live upgrades, users will have to be signed off whilst this deletion takes place. They will be able to sign back on to any environment not being upgraded straight after the deletion. For example, if you are upgrading the test system, users will be able to sign back on to live once the sql packages have been deleted.

8.1.7 Restoring XUNMTOOLS

Firstly, you will need to remove your existing copy of the conversion tools library, XUNMTOOLS, from the library list. This will enable the existing library to be deleted. To remove the library from the library list type:

EDTLIBL

on a command line and press enter. This will display the libraries currently associated with your job. If XUNMTOOLS is displayed simply remove it from the list. Press enter twice to return to the previous screen.

You can either rename or delete your current version of XUNMTOOLS.

To delete the existing XUNMTOOLS library from the AS/400 enter the following command:

DLTLIB LIB(XUNMTOOLS)If you receive the error message "Library XUNMTOOLS not found" as a result of the delete library command, then ignore it.

To rename the existing XUNMTOOLS, enter the following command:

RNMOBJ OBJ(XUNMTOOLS) OBJTYPE(*LIB) NEWOBJ(XUNMTOO153) Having deleted/renamed the library, the version of the XUNMTOOLS library on the tape can now be restored onto your computer.

Restoring XUNMTOOLS from Save File

If XUNMTOOLS has been sent via save file it may have been sent as XUNMTOO016. In this case it will be necessary to rename this to XUNMTOOLS as follows:

RNMOBJ OBJ(XUNMTOO016) OBJTYPE(*LIB) NEWOBJ(XUNMTOOLS)



Restoring XUNMTOOLS from Tape

Place the tape into the AS/400 tape drive and restore the conversion tools library, XUNMTOOLS, from the tape onto the AS/400, making sure you leave the tape in the drive when it has finished.

The command is

RSTLIB SAVLIB(XUNMTOOLS) DEV({TAP01}) SEQNBR(1) ENDOPT(*REWIND)

Change TAP01 for the tape device name on your AS/400. If you are unsure of the tape drive to use, follow the instructions below headed ‘Identifying the tape drive’.

The message 'Security or data format changes occurred' may be received as a result of this command. Scroll down on the message. If there is an additional message stating that '0 objects not restored', then the upgrade may be continued.

Identifying the tape drive (only read if you are unsure of the tape drive to use)

If you do not know which device name to enter, use the following command:

WRKCFGSTS (Prompt the command by pressing F4)

Amend the screen displayed over the page to reflect that below and press enter twice:

This will produce a list of device drives and their status.


Work with Configuration Status (WRKCFGSTS) Type choices, press Enter. If more than one tape drive is listed, you need to determine which drive your tape is actually in. The following command can be used to see what is in each of the tape drives. By repeating the command for each one, you will see which drive the IRIS tape is in:

DSPTAP

Prompt the command by pressing F4

Enter the name of each of the tape devices. Continue to press enter until a field called ‘Volume id’ is in view. For the correct tape device this will have a description of ‘IRIS’. Once you have found the correct drive, there is no need to continue checking the remaining drives.

Once XUNMTOOLS has been successfully restored, continue as follows:

In order to access the routines the library needs to be added to the library list. This can be achieved using the following command:

The upgrade is controlled via the specifically designed menu. To access this menu, type the following on a command line.

8.1.8 Begin Upgrading IRIS to 10.16

Take each option in turn and follow the instructions detailed below. You will not be able to continue with the next option until the previous one has completed successfully.

8.1.8.1 Option 1: Set Parameters / DataAreas

This is the first and most important menu option in the upgrade. This screen initialises all the parameters used by the upgrade during its course. It is the only menu option in the installation process where information must be entered, and this must be done before any other options can be run.

The parameters required by this command are as follows:

upgraded. Note each Environment (see below) has its own Journal Library. The correct Journal Library must be associated with the correct Environment.

Statements Data Library: Enter the name of the current IRIS Outward Statements



data library that you wish to upgrade. No action will be taken if the Outward Statements module is not installed. Note: The upgrade to 10.16 does not require the Statements library to be upgraded. Please ensure this parameter is left blank.

Test / Train / Live Environment: State the type of environment that you are converting ie. TST for Test, or TRN for Train, or LVE for Live

Device: State the device name of the tape drive.

Current IRIS Version: State your current version of IRIS. (see data area ZZPFRZA0). The program default is E00 (9.15-ENH-000)

New IRIS Version State the AS/400 version of IRIS to be upgraded to. The program default is 016 (10.16)

If you are unsure of the library names, the IRIS standard naming conventions can be found in the Appendix in section 20.

8.1.8.2 Integrity Checks/Database Locks

Run option 1 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu) to hold the output queue where any spool files that are produced by the upgrade will be sent, thus preventing them from printing automatically.

Run option 3 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu) to check that no-one is signed on and using the environment to be upgraded. If users are found to be locking anything, it is imperative that they sign off.

The integrity check job can now be submitted.Run option 2 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu) to submit the integrity checking jobs.

The following jobs are submitted to batch. Reports are produced which detail any errors.

The routine checks that the scoping of the database is consistent. All database relations (logical and physical files) must exist in the same data library. If this is not the case, then errors may occur during the delivery routines. Errors are detailed on two reports:

Bad physical files are ones which have logicals scoped over them from outside the data library



Bad logical files are ones that are scoped over physical files that exist outside the data library.

You can see the output produced by typing the following command:

WRKSPLF

If there are any files listed in these reports, they will have to be deleted before the upgrade can go ahead.

8.1.8.3 Store Check Information before the Upgrade

Run option 9 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu).

This will produce data in two output files in XUNMTOOLS which will then be used once the upgrade has been completed to produce a checking report.

Continue by taking the following options from the main Conversion menu:

8.1.8.4 Option 2: Restore Upgrade Libraries

Take option 2 and press enter from the main Conversion menu. There are no parameters to enter.

NB. If the upgrade libraries have already been restored then this option can be bypassed. Instead run the command:

CHGDTAARA DTAARA(UPGSTATUS) VALUE('2')

8.1.8.5 Option 3: End Journalling on Upgrade Libraries

Having completed the data library upgrade, you should check your messages (command DSPMSG). This is because the upgrade now creates some SQL Views for use within the IRIS GUI.



If there are any errors reported creating the SQL Views then you need to check the data in file XUNMTOOLS/XXVEREP which will contain a record for each error occurred while creating the SQL views.

Once you have details of the view(s) in error check your spooled files and find the one for that view. Information in the spooled file will indicate what the error is. This will need to be created before the view can then be created manually, using the SQL contained in the spooled file.

8.1.8.8 Option 6: Run Fix Programs

Take option 6 and press enter from the main Conversion menu. There are no parameters to enter. Refer to the Fix program section on p51, for details of fix programs you may need to run. (It is important you look at this section and run any fix programs required at this point).

8.1.8.9 Option 7: Restart Journalling


8.1.8.10 Option 8: Update Bureau Message Severities

For a PTF, before taking option 8, make sure that the name of the software library you are upgrading is in your library list. For a live upgrade this will usually be XUNMSYS. There is no need to do this for a full release. Take option 8 and press enter from the main Conversion menu. There are no parameters to enter. You must do this for both a PTF and a full upgrade.

8.1.8.11 Option 9: Print Upgrade Messages


8.1.8.12 Option 12: Apply PTF to System Library

This option should only be run if a PTF is being applied. For full releases, a new copy of the system library is restored from tape. For PTFs, changed programs need to be applied to the existing system library, so this option needs to be run. A parameter screen will be displayed for the system library to be entered. (eg XUNMSYT for a test upgrade, XUNMSYS for a live upgrade). You do not need to do this for this release.

8.1.8.13 Copy APD Library List Definitions to delivered System Library

This option only needs to be run if APD menus are installed.

This option should only be run if a full release is being installed. For full releases, a new copy of the system library is restored from tape. The APD library list definitions need to be copied from the current system library into the new copy of the system library.



Run option 6 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu) to copy ZCSLREP into the new copy of the system library.

8.1.8.14 Rename System Library

This option does need to be run for this particular release.

This option should only be run if a full release is being installed. For full releases, a new copy of the system library is restored from tape. It will be named with a suffix indicating its release. The current system library, e.g. XUNMSYS, must be renamed and given a suffix and then the new library must be renamed to be the system library, e.g. XUNMSYS.

Run option 4 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu) to carry out these system library renames.

8.1.8.15 Store Check Information after the Upgrade

Run option 10 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu).

This will produce data in two output files in XUNMTOOLS which will then be used by the next option to produce a checking report.

8.1.8.16 Run Upgrade Check

Run option 11 from the CNVTOL menu (under option 11 from the Conversion menu).This will run a report to check the details from before the upgrade against the details from after the upgrade.

This will produce reports on your spool queue. You can access these by typing the following command:

WRKSPLF

Pressing F11 will show you the date and time of each spool file, so you should be able to identify this report.

The upgrade is now complete. The remainder of the document still needs to be read and followed, as there may be client specific changes to be made.



9. SYSTEM LIBRARY CHANGES

Implications for GUI

If the Test system is being upgraded and a new system library has been created:

The system library specified in ‘Sys Admin’ for the Test system will need to be amended.

The following is also required (reminded again later in section 12)

- The library defined in ‘Sys Admin’ must be changed to XUNMSYT (or whichever library name you are using)

- DRPSTP will need to be run - CRTSTP will need to be run

If XGIS are performing the upgrade on behalf of a client, remember to remind them to do this.



10. APD - MENU SYSTEM

There are no APD changes in this Release.



11. USER DEFINED QUERIES

It is important to realise that any Queries that use a file or files that have been changed by this Installation, need to be recompiled. This can be achieved by taking Option 2 - ‘Amend’ against the particular query and, without changing it, press F3 to exit and save the query program. This will ensure that the file changes are saved into the query.

The full list of IRIS files affected by this installation is included in the section 15; Files Affected / Updated.



12. POST UPGRADE PROCEDURES

Set Printer Files to HOLD if required (only run after a live upgrade)Some clients like to have all their IRIS printer files set so that spooled-files are created in a HLD (held) status, instead of the normal default, which is RLS (released). Following an IRIS upgrade you can run option 5 from the CNVTOL menu. If your requirements change and you subsequently wish the files to be created in a RDY state, you can run option 8 from the CNVTOL menu.

Bureau Issues if System Library has changedIf a client keeps different versions of the system library (e.g. HIH), it will be necessary to change the following to record the new system library:

Jobd – DOWNLOAD in whichever library it’s held (replace old system library in list)

Dtaara - UTLLRYAS and UTPSRSAS in XUNMDTA (replace old system library)

Stored Procedures build for GUIThe GUI system uses stored procedures that get built as part of the upgrade. This build takes note of the data library and system library.

The stored procedures should be built with the correct data and system library.

Use the following command:

DRPSTP (press F4 to prompt)

Type in the relevant data library (e.g. XUNMDTA) and press enter.

CRTSTP (press F4 to prompt)

Type in the relevant data library (e.g. XUNMDTA) and system library (e.g. XUNMSYS) and press enter.

NB. The above names are examples of standard library names.

Authority ChangesRun the following command to ensure that all files have the appropriate authority. You will need to substitute the data library for the name of your data library:

CHGAUTALL DTALIB(XUNMDTA) and press enter.



Data AreasThe GUI data area values need to be synchronised with the actual AS/400 data area values. You need to run the following two commands:

CALL PGM(UCDATAC0) PARM('XUNMDT*' '*YES' *REPLACE)CALL PGM(UCDATAC1) PARM('XUNMDT*' *YES)

Replacing XUNMDT* in both commands with the name of the actual library that you want to synchronise the data areas in.

(The 1st program builds a list of data areas in the file UCDOREP and the 2nd program retrieves the value for each data area and writes it out to the file UCDTREP)

Installation checks Following the installation of the upgrade and before Users are allowed back onto the system, it is recommended that the following checks are made:

1. Go into Closings Update as far as the submit screen but do not submit the report.

2. Go into Policy Enquiry.

3. Sign-on with a User’s password and repeat checks under 1 and 2.

Contact XGIS Once the upgrade is complete you should contact the IRIS Helpdesk to inform us that your Test / Live system is now on version 10.16 of IRIS. This will enable us to update our IRIS Support customer records.

This is two of three fix programs for this enhancement. This program is to update the GUI Update Flag on the Closings Log and Statistics files.

The program runs over all of the existing Closings Log/Statistics records and tests whether it can be joined to Schedule File (UPSHREP) or Bureau Closings records.

A Bureau Closings record is identified as follows;o The C1/S1AXFG value is Blank or ‘A’.o AND the C4/S4SYC2 value is ‘PS’ or ‘LL’ or ‘IL’.

If the Closings Log/Statistics record can be joined to a Schedule record then set the GUI Update Flag (C1/S1GUFL) to ‘S’.

If the Closings Log/Statistics record can not be joined to a Schedule record then test further;

o If the GUI Update Flag is not blank then leave it.o Otherwise, if this is a Bureau Closings record then set the GUI Update Flag to ‘U’

(bureau closing).o Otherwise, set the GUI Update Flag to ‘M’ (manual closing).

FUCCSR00 Fix program to populate CSSQ

This Fix program will populate the new field CSSQ from the alphanumeric field CSSX on all the physical files to which CSSQ has been added. The program also produces a report of the total number of affected records on each file.

The program is called as follows:

FUSS1R01 Fix Closings Endorsement Numbers

When an IRIS user would enter a closing against a specific policy endorsement (where the endorsement number EDEDNO is non-zero) then the endorsement number on the stats files was not populated. The fix program will correct any IRIS closing that has incorrectly been recorded against an endorsement number of zero.

To run the fix, simply issue the commandCALL PGM(FUSS1R01)

No reports are produced.

This program can be rerun as it only updates records where the EDNO is zero on the stats files but non-zero on the equivalent endorsement file record.

SN 300118795/5767 POLBR1 is mandatory

FUPPOC09 Fix program to populate POLBR1

There is a system rule that states that the broker field POLBR1 is mandatory. This was created as a result of SN 300111188 (Account Source not mandatory).

Therefore a fix program has been written to populate the POLBR1 on historic data from the broker field POLBRC where the POLBR1 is not already populated.

To call this fix program, run the command

CALL PGM(FUPPOC09)

This only updates records were the POLBR1 is blank and so can be re-run.

FUPILC00 Fix UPILREP.ILIZED and recreate missing linksFUPVLC00 Fix UPVLREP.VLVSED and recreate missing links

Previously, when a business item (both vessel and non-vessel) was endorsed, UPILREP record was updated to point to the endorsed business item. But when the original unendorsed policy was viewed, the business item (both vessel and non-vessel) which has been endorsed is no longer visible on the original unendorsed policy.

Two fix programs are provided. They will correct database problems which cause business items (both vessel and non-vessel) to disappear from earlier versions of a Policy when an endorsement which changes the business item has taken place. An updated set of tests for the database integrity checker is provided.

Call the fix programs as follows:

This fix can be rerun at any time, and is suitable for running as a scheduled job on systems where the GUI fix has not yet been installed.

SN:300090690/5726 Enh: Auto Premium Generation

FUPPOR12 Populate POSYC2 value for historic data

This is one of three fix programs for this enhancement. This fix program will set the Bureau ID flag (POSYC2) in UPPOREP for historic data.

This program is specific to QIE and hence should not be run on any other client database.

It runs over all Policy File (UPPOREP) records where the Bureau ID is blank – it will not change existing policies that have already been identified as containing a bureau identifier.

QIE use a generic code field (POPC04) to indicate which policies are bureau policies. The fix program checks this field and if it contains a value of ‘B’ it sets the Bureau ID to ‘PS’.

If the generic code field (POPC04) contains any other value (including blank) then the Bureau ID is set to ‘MN’ to indicate this is historical data for which Schedule Generation is disabled.

The program is called as follows:

SN:300097415/5731 Duplicate records on RI files

FUPRIC03 Delete duplicates from UPRIREP

Due to a problem with the GUI, records are being written to UPRIREP with key RIPSID/RIRIID/RIRISQ being duplicated.



This key should be unique, but this is not being enforced by the database, and until the GUI is prevented from writing these duplicates, uniqueness cannot be enforced in the database as it will cause some Policy updates to become unworkable.

This fix program will read UPRIREP and search it for instances of multiple records existing for the key RIPSID/RIRIID/RIRISQ. It will select the duplicate records relating to each instance and will determine which one should be retained. These records will be printed (report mode) or printed and the excess records deleted (update mode).

As this program works on relative record numbers, which can be changed if the file is reorganised, an exclusive lock is obtained on UPRIREP to prevent any other updates from occurring while the fix program is run when in update mode.

There are two parameters:

&MODER – Run in report mode onlyU – Run in update mode and carry out the deletions

&KEEPKEEPFIRST – Retain the first record found in any group. This option is chosen if the customer wants to treat the duplicates as if they never happened.KEEPLAST – Retain the last record found in any group. This option is chosen if the customer wants information such as last change date from the final record in the group. i.e. The duplicates are being treated as updates which failed to overwrite the record they were updating, which should now be deleted.

Note that this program should not be run in a multi-syndicate environment.

The fix is called as follows:

FUXURR00 Populate UXURREP with used INCAS Audit Numbers

Fix program FUXURR00 has been created to populate UXURREP with all usedINCAS audit numbers on the system.

Prior to running the program all entered Cash and Journals must be posted to the ledger.

The fix program can be called from a command line as follows:CALL PGM(FUXURR00)

Before writing a used audit number it first of all checks for its existence on UXURREP, and therefore the program may be re-run.

This fix program was in both 9.15-ENH-000 and 9.15-ENH-001 so it may not be necessary to run it again if it has already been run as a result of applying either of these two upgrades.

SN 300056527/5638/#1970 Enh: Syndicate Group Month End Dates

FUCZMR00 Syndicate File Population

The stamp code field (C4ZMCD) was assigned the wrong code type in enquiries which meant that it was not possible to filter the data by it (it was associated with the full stamp code type which is a concatenation of the stamp code and stamp year). The stamp code field has been modified so that it now references the new stamp/syndicate code type which is derived from the reference file UCZMREP to allow filters to be applied just based on the stamp code on its own. Since this is a new table it will require clients to ensure that it is correctly populated. To do this the fix program FUCZMR00 was created to populate the Syndicates file, UCZMREP. For each unique syndicate on UCZLREP, a record will be written to UCZMREP (as long as the syndicate does not already exist) as follows:ZMZMCD - populated with ZLZMCDZMZMDS - populated with ZLZMDSZMZMSD - populated with ZLZMDSZMZHCD - blankZMRCFD - blank

Note that ZMZHCD will subsequently require manual population by the user.

The program can be run as follows:

This program was introduced in 8.14-PTF-005 and was mentioned again in 9.15-ENH-000 and 9.15-ENH-003 and so it may not be necessary to run it if it has already been run as a result of applying any of these upgrades.

One way to see whether this fix program should be run is to check files UCZLREP and UCZMREP. If UCZLREP contains data but UCZMREP does not then it may be worth considering running this fix program.

SN 300070038/5727/0599-Full Policy History Enquiry

FUPPAR02 Fix Program to update AYCD & ABXW on UPPAREP

This enhancement introduced two new enquiries "Full Policy History" and "Full Policy History by Reference" in the system. Both the enquiries are based on the same file and similar in terms of data columns and layout and only differ at the level of enquiry wizard (i.e. filters). Using these enquiries it is now possible to view the policy details and its History information together in a single enquiry.

The fix program FUPPAR02 (Fix Program to update AYCD & ABXW on UPPAREP) has been written under CR5727/05 on the same lines as the fix programFUPAAR01.It populates UPPAREP.PAAYCD from ICCUREP.IAKDAY and UPPAREP.PAABXW from ICAYREP.IAOBXR for all the records in UPPAREP.

Please note that the program FUPPAR02 doesn't check for the current values of PAAYCD and PAABXW on a record, before updating it. Hence, each time this fix program would run, it would update all the records present in the file UPPAREP. The fix program doesn't produce any report at present. A report, if produced for the count of records updated, would always return the number of records present in the file.

This fix program can be simple called from the command line usingCALL PGM(FUPPAR02)

It doesn't have any parameters.

It should not be run again as it will update PAABXW values, even if they are non-zero.

SN 300106377/5738 KT movement <> latest

FUKKTC03 Fix settled this time GUI Bx claim RI outstandings

GUI Bureau Claims is incorrectly calculating the RI outstanding (and hence also the RI movement) on settled this time messages.



The RI outstanding should be calculated on the final inwards outstanding value for the message, but it’s being calculated instead on the first inwards outstanding value for the message, minus the movement between the first inwards outstanding and the last inwards outstanding for the message. (To arrive at the last inwards outstanding for the message, the movement should have been added, not subtracted.)

This problem is self-correcting in cases where a subsequent message of a different type is processed for a claim. i.e. It will show the correct outstanding on a subsequent message. (The incorrect outstanding will stay incorrect. This fix program will correct such outstandings, as well as those which are permanently wrong.)

If the settled this time message is the final message to be processed for a claim, then the RI outstanding for that claim will be incorrect.

Settled this time messages processed via GUI Bureau Claims result in the number of RI records generated on UKKTREP for a given outwards policy being different from the number of inwards records on UKKTREP, and as most other operations on UKKTREP result in equal numbers of inwards records and RI records per outwards policy on a Bureau claim, it’s possible to select candidates for fixing by considering UKKTREP records with the property described here.

Having found candidate records, we obtain the RI % and we calculate the RI outstanding based on the first inwards minus the movement and confirm that it agrees with the RI outstanding currently on file to within a tolerance of 0.05.

For accounting terms ONR (on net retained – i.e. net of preceding Facultative RIs) and ONA (on net absolute – i.e. net of all preceding RIs) the reported RI % takes into account any preceding RI which should affect it. (This means that the RI % reported may be different from the RI % held on UPRIREP.)

We also recalculate the RI outstanding based on the last inwards outstanding; and we work out the scaling factor for the first inwards outstanding minus the movement : the last inwards outstanding, and we apply this scaling factor to the RI outstanding currently on file. If the RI outstandings calculated via these two methods agree to within a tolerance of 2.00 then this Bureau Claim transaction is a candidate to have its RI outstanding fixed.

In addition, if the last inwards movement is zero then this Bureau Claim transaction is a candidate to have its RI outstanding fixed. (These transactions should have an RI outstanding of zero.)

We discard any Bureau Claim transactions where the RI outstanding already contains a value based on the last inwards multiplied by the RI %, as these are considered to require no change. These transactions will not be reported.

When the fix is run in update mode, the RI outstanding is replaced with the result of multiplying the last inwards outstanding for the message by the RI %.



When the RI outstandings are fixed, the Claims Movement Rebuild program is subsequently run to adjust the movements to agree with the amended outstandings. Then the Claims Summary Rebuild is run, followed by the History Rebuild.

This program will produce six reports:

KTOUTDETLC – This report lists the UKKTREP RI outstandings which will be amended. The user data on the spool file will be ‘Report’ when the fix program is run in report mode and ‘Update’ when the fix program is run in update mode. This is a print of file QTEMP/KTOUTDETLC.

KTOUTDELOC – As for KTOUTDETLC but only original currency amounts are reported.

KTOUTDETLR – This report lists the UKKTREP RI outstandings which are outside of the 0.05 tolerance used during calculations. The user data on the spool file is ‘Manual’. These RI outstandings will not be fixed by this program, but should be considered for manual fixing. This is a print of rows on QTEMP/KTOUTDETLR where RIRIPC is non-zero.

KTOUTDETOR – ‘Manual’ - As for KTOUTDETLR ‘Manual’ but only original currency amounts are reported.

KTOUTDETLR – This report lists the UKKTREP RI outstandings which couldn’t be fixed because a valid RI % could not be obtained for them. The user data on the spool file is ‘Zero %’. These RI outstandings will not be fixed by this program, but should be considered for manual fixing. This is a print of rows on QTEMP/KTOUTDETLR where RIRIPC is zero.

KTOUTDETOR – ‘Zero %’ - As for KTOUTDETLR ‘Zero %’ but only original currency amounts are reported.

A further three reports will be produced by the Claims Movement Rebuild, the Claims Summary Rebuild and the History Rebuild programs when the fix program is run in Update Mode.

Note that where the accounting term is ONR (On Net Retained) or ONA (On Net Absolute) that if there are previous claim transactions for the claim that this fix program may not be able to correct them and they will end up in one of the KTOUTDETLR reports.

There is one parameter:

&MODER – Run in report mode onlyU – Run in update mode and carry out the updates

You should ensure that the fix program SN300097415-5731 (Duplicate records on RI files) has been run prior to running this fix program because the calculation of actual RI % for ONR and ONA accounting terms relies on the unique key of UPRIREP records. See the separate documentation for that fix.



This fix is called as follows:

Report mode:CALL FUKKTC03 'R'

Update mode:CALL FUKKTC03 'U'

This fix is best run overnight when in update mode as it rebuilds UKKSREP and USHSREP and needs to gain exclusive use of these objects. It can be safely run in report mode while other users are on the system.

It may be helpful to download files QTEMP/KTOUTDETLC and QTEMP/KTOUTDETLR into a spreadsheet. If this is required, run the fix program interactively in report mode.

This fix can be rerun as often as necessary, and is suitable for running as a scheduled job on systems where the GUI has not yet been fixed.

Note that the cause of this issue is still under investigation and so it is likely that this fix will need to be run again when a fix for the underlying has been identified.

SN 300115530/5757 - Synd RI% Fields not calculated correctly

FUPPOR13 Populate SYRIPC, SYFCRI, SYTYRI and SYRIPC

Previously the Total R/I Percent on the policy syndicate was not being calculated correctly from the Fac and Treaty R/I percentages.

Fix program will update the RI %ages on UPSYREP and UPPOREP. Fix program will run in either report or update mode.

To run in update mode:CALL PGM(FUPPOR13) PARM('U')

It is recommended that this fix program be run first in report mode and if any results are shown then it should be considered whether to run in update mode.



20. APPENDIX

Library Naming Convention

The following explanation provides details of the standard IRIS naming conventions. Variation does occur owing to clients’ requirements. There may be more than one ‘live’ environment for example

The naming convention is based on the MODE parameter of the conversion. The options available for MODE are TST, TRN and LVE.

All library names can be broken down into 3 distinct parts; the prefix, the middle and the extension.

The IRIS module being converted determines the library prefix. The prefixes are:

XUNM for IRIS,

XXOS for statements

The type of library and the environment determines the middle part of the library name

For the program source libraries the middle three letters are for example:

SRC equates to the ‘Live’ environment source

For data libraries:

DTA equates to the ‘Live’ environment data

For the system library the middle three letters are

SYS equates to the ‘Live’ environment

In all instances the last letter of the three indicates the environment:

T equates to the ‘Test’ environment

R equates to the ‘Training’ environment

Please note that ‘Test‘ and ‘Training’ environments are optional and may not exist on your AS/400.

A slightly different convention follows for a journal library. The middle 3 characters are:

AJN If it is for the live environment LVE.

AJT If the mode is TST

AJR If it is TRN

Note that if you rename a data library after the conversion, then certain data areas require resetting to reflect the new library name. See the data area manual for further details
