Facilitated and supported by Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on South-South Cooperation, an Iraqi delegation led by Major General Abdulkareem Hatim Lafta Al-Ukaidi, Director General of Training Direc- torate of the Ministry of Interior of Republic of Iraq, and Mr. Jamal Jalal Hussein, General Director of Erbil Mine Action Center of Iraq Kurdistan Regional Government Mine Action Agency, made a visit to Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) from 6 th to 13 th December, 2015. The main purpose of the visit is to develop the Technical Cooperation with CMAC to enhance mine action in the Federal Republic of Iraq and Kurdistan Region. During their visit, the Iraqi delegation paid a courtesy to and met with H.E. Heng Raratana, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as Director General of CMAC at CMAC Headquarters in Phnom Penh, on 7 th December, 2015. In the meeting, H.E. Director General shared to the delegation CMAC’s experiences in demining action, activities, achievements, challenges and solution to the challenges. The delegation proceeded, at following day, to Kampong Chhnang province to visit CMAC’s Technical Institute of Mine Action, the Mine Detection Dog (MDD) Training Center, and demining partner Golden West where they were very interested in explosive harvest. They also visited demining operational activities and CMAC museums in Battambang and Siem Reap provinces. At the end of their visit, the delegation had a technical meeting with CMAC top management in Siem Reap, with participation of JICA repre-sentatives, to discuss about action plan for next

step. After the discussion, the minutes of the meeting on Third Country Training Program (TCTP) on mine action for the Federal Republic of Iraq and Kurdistan Region was signed be-tween Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Iraq (MOI), Ministry of Health and Environment of the Re-public of Iraq (MOH&E), Iraq Kurdistan Regional Government Mine Action Agency (IKMAA) and Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The minutes have focussed mainly on Technical Cooperation, such as training courses, workshops, and/or seminars in Cambodia and Iraq/Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), which should be carried out by TCTP. The Technical Cooperation will be con-ducted in 4-year period starting from Japanese

Fiscal Year 2016 to 2019. It will help developing human resources and strengthening institutional capacity of MOI, MOH&E, IKMAA and KRG through sharing experiences and learning from CMAC in mine action.
