The Land

• Location: Iran is located in the Middle East, bordering the Gulf of Oman, the Persian Gulf, and the Caspian Sea. It is between Iraq and Pakistan.

• Landforms: The Zagros mountain range and the Alborz mountain range are found in Iran. Also common to Iran are various deserts.

• Water systems: The Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf are found around Iran.

• Natural Resources: In Iran, petroleum, natural gas, coal, chromium, copper, iron ore, lead, manganese, zinc, and sulfur are found.

Climate and Vegetation

• Native Wildlife: Asiatic cheetah, bears, gazelles, wild pigs, wolves, jackals, panthers, Eurasian lynx, foxes

• Common Vegetation: Fruits and flowers, mainly anything that will grow in this climate

Government

• Political Leaders: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

• Type of Government: Theocratic Republic

• Life Expectancy: 69.35 years• Population: 68,278,826
