1. The verb ir (to go), dar (to give), and estar (to be) are irregular. An irregular verb does NOT CONFORM to the

regular pattern.

Estar = is more temporary feelings or conditions such as tired, nervous, or sick. Also, used for location.

Las Contracciones AL y DEL

1. The preposition Al means to or toward. A contracts with EL to form one word: AL. The preposition a does not change when

used with the other articles la,las, los.

2. The prepositon a is also used before a direct object that refers to a specific person or persons. This is called the

‘Personal a’ and has no English equivalent.
